The low speed literally crawls so just slam it into high and go. My 3 year old boy does great in high gear..• careful who ever uses the tractor because the shifter box is just clipped in. My boy keeps popping it out shifting from high,low, reverse. I cannot say enough good things about this little tractor and trailer. We got this two years ago for 3 year old twins who could (and usually did) destroy anything within 5 minutes. Two years later, the twins now 5 and still destruction specialists, have not managed to destroy this tractor, despite their best efforts.. It still runs like a charm! They did lose the pin that connects the trailer to the tractor, but we will figure something out for that. They have a blast riding around the yard in this marvelous little machine. Our yard is not level and the plant beds are lined with bricks which the twins ride over. Nothing seems to deter this precious little "engine that could." There are so many over-priced junk toys out there, but in our experience, this is not one of them.

We bought this for our grandson’s 2nd birthday because he loves tractors. He is still a little young to ride it but our 4 year old grandson loved it. We couldn’t keep him off it. The directions to assemble it could have been a little clearer but it was easier to put together than I thought it would be. It really only required putting the tires on, putting the seat and steering wheel on and assembling the back cart. It probably took me 30 minutes or less to do it by myself. I’m not sure how long the battery lasts but the 4 year old rode it a long time without recharging it.
