After thoroughly researching and reading glowing reviews, I was excited to purchase the Allpa 35L. The main reason I chose this bag was it was supposed to be water resistant. What I didn’t expect was for the bag to end up scratched and scuffed after just a couple of uses. None of my other bags have ever worn down this quickly. It's a massive letdown. When I contacted Cotopaxi, they brushed it off, claiming it was "normal" and purely cosmetic—not a defect. I’m a huge Cotopaxi fan and was definitely eager to get the new bag :) I ordered the two versions of the bag- the standard in Tamarindo/abyss and a Del dia-dark.A few general notes on things that I was wondering prior to receiving the bags and wasn’t clear from site:The new drink sleeve is incredibly stretchy (in a good way), I was able to very easily fit my 32oz bottle in it (from the pictures, I worried that it would only fit a smaller bottle)The new coating process for the front of the pack is definitely different and I think likely better. Zippers feel solid and move smoothly.There are way more pockets than i realized, but they seem useful and well placed. I didn't realize that the hip belt is removable and straps tuck completely into the back, but that made it reallyconvenient to shove the pack full of our dirty laundry and use it ruck/sandbag style for a quick workout. I received my new updated Allpa 35L in Smoke. They made some great updates like finally having water bottle holder. This was the biggest missing thing with the previous version. They added a handle in the back, which is great for pulling the bag out of airport totes. I also love that they added another quick access pocket on the top this way I can access my powerbank, or head phones much easier than unzipping the bigger access pocket, and unzipping the mesh pockets.The interior didn't change much, but they made the two mesh pockets into one, which I prefer so I can fit bigger items in the pockets. They did remove the exterior access to the bigger interior pocket, which isn't a big deal, but it was nice to be able to grab my jacket out of that slot, but again not a ... I was extended a last minute invite to join some friends for a week in Greece and decided I’d extend and visit a friend in Berlin after. I’d used the smaller version of this bag for summer week in Italy last year and I loved it. It’s so nice to be hands-free when traveling so I knew I wanted to get the larger size for a longer trip. I wasn’t sure this would fit the variety of clothes I needed since I would be in different climates but WOW it fits everything. I had about 25 pairs of underwear + socks, 3 pairs of pants, 12 shirts, 2 sweaters, 3 pairs of shorts, a handful of swimsuits, and a pair of sandals all zipped up in here. I had about 25 pairs of underwear + socks, 3 pairs of pants, 12 shirts, 2 sweaters, 3 pairs of shorts, a handful of swimsuits, and a pair of sandals all zipped up in here. I even accumulated a few extra pieces of clothing while traveling — and it still all fit!! The internal organization is amazing and there must be some witchcraft involved with how much fits inside. It is definitely a large and bulky pack to wear, but I found it light and comfortable, I think particularly because I only had clothing inside. It fits in overhead bins of even the most budget airlines with no issue. Everyone I travelled with thought I must’ve packed lightly, but it turned out I had more clothing packed than they did in their roller bags. Cotopaxi magic !!
