The Crayola Air-Dry Clay explored an imagination I never knew I had! The possibilities are endless when trying to get creative with clay! To charms, to jewelry, and even small figures It is the perfect craft to be unique! One of my favorite crafts I made was a frog wearing a cowboy hat meant for holding my earrings! Crayola’s Clay is super easy to mold into anything you desire and dries within a matter of days! TIP: You can paint your clay to add a pop of color to your design!

My fiance uses this clay all the time to make projects and even some commissioned pieces. Depending on the size and thickness of what you make, it can sometimes take a little longer than 24 hours to dry. Smaller pieces can dry overnight but I would still give it a day if you want to be extra safe. Before it dries fully and is still in a semi-soft state is a great time to get good detail in last minute! The finished products can tend to be pretty heavy depending on how thick or large your piece might be but I feel like that is expected with most clays. You can make (almost) anything that can be made with other non-quick-dry clay and it will allow for placing things inside and will keep them cemented pretty securely, especially if glazed or sealed over (which I ... MoreMy fiance uses this clay all the time to make projects and even some commissioned pieces. If you let it dry completely before painting it doesn't soak up too much paint/liquids either. Highly recommend for seasoned sculptors and brand new crafters alike! One of my favorite air dry clays to work with. Easy to blend, spread, and manipulate. This tub of clay goes a long way, and there are so many options for creative play. There is a mild odor, and worked on cardboard while wearing gloves, which made cleanup super quick and easy. I do not see any cracks. I am pleased with this air dry clay and cannot wait to work on more pieces.

Another quality product from Crayola
12 March 2023

This is a quality product, like most of Crayola products. It's best to keep your creations smaller to avoid cracks. Using a bit of water to smooth areas works nice. Rotate your creations on a drying tray to get all areas dried. Some creations take a few days, depending upon their thickness. See your painted creations with some shilaqu.

Broken pieces of dried clay
9 April 2022

I purchased this clay for my students to create clay animals for a class project. The clay did not hold up well when the students made models of their animals. After the clay dried, the students ended up with pieces of their clay animal. The only one that was intact was the clay whale. This was because it was molded from one clump of clay. The students needed to mold the different parts of the animals then put them together to form their animal. I think this is the reason why they broke apart so easily. I am not sure how we can prevent the clay animals from breaking into pieces the next time we attempt this project.

CRAYOLA: NOT JUST FOR KIDS
7 November 2022

I LOVE THIS STUFF. FEELS GOOD, like natural clay. Gifted to a hip replacement friend and an 80 year old's birthday. Both were exciting, one immediately sat with her grands to build. The other making some pieces for her nativity set. It is very paintable. Good product. I use it for puppets and paper mache details.

Crayola Air Dry Clay
10 October 2022

My daughter had to make a large mountain for a project. It would have been expensive to make it entirely out of clay, so she balled up newspaper and taped them into a mountain. Then she coated it in aluminum foil. Then she rolled out this clay and put it on the foil. Last, she painted it after it was dry. It did crumble in a few spots, but she repaired those with a little homemade salt dough. Her mountain is over a foot tall and looks amazing!

Great for Kids but still High Quality
21 December 2022

This is perfect for kids activities but the quality could honestly be used for a higher scale project. I used it for a kids art class where we made clay caterpillars as well as clay snowmen. The kiddos loved it! It was never too difficult to mold and it dried within a couple of days. When it dries it seems to shrink a little bit but not by a lot. The smaller the project, the less you’d be able to notice any shrinkage.

Junk
29 April 2023

Junk! This stuff crumbles like a sandcastle after it dries. Multiple projects and they all break so easily. I've tried everything. I've watched MULTIPLE YouTube videos. This stuff IS JUNK. The look on my daughters face after the most basic projects fall apart is enough for me to write this review.

Ruined the last memories of my dog
6 February 2023

I purchased a 5lb bucket of clay to make a paw print for my terminally ill dog. The night before she was put to sleep, I made a clay print of my hand with her paw inside of it. I loved it! However, when the clay dried, it broke in pieces (see pics). The only print of dog's paw is destroyed and she is gone. I am so sad I could cry. I thought I could rely on Crayola but I was wrong. They made a difficult situtation worse. I should have read the reviews before I put all of my trust into this company. Now I have no way to honor my first (and likely only) dog.
