Unfortunately the instructions say to add 1/2C of water to the potting mix before anything else, which, of course, we did. According to the instructions it was supposed to become clumpy like clay. 1/2C of water was WAY too much, as it never became clay like; it was just a watery mess. And as you might guess, the sand and rocks simply sank into the first layer of that watery mess, rather than laying on top of it like it was supposed to. Ridiculous. So I came to the website only to find that other people had experienced the same problem, and oh, uh, yeah, "we revised the instructions to only add a small amount of water." This should have been REALLY EASY for you to get right. How did this product ever make it out of QA?

I just love how cute and fun Glow N’ Grow’s Terrarium came out to be. It was so much fun unboxing everything included in the kit to get your little garden started. The kit includes everything you need including the soil, rocks, glowing blue and pick sands, seeds (2 kinds) the white rocks, a cute little container with stars in the lid, a little spray bottle labeled to mist garden, a little raccoon roasting marshmallows, (the marshmallows glow) a little campfire that glows, and stickers. The glow in the dark sky stickers are a beautiful bonus to this little terrarium and I loved the little critters, flowers and mushroom stickers. You can just see how cute this came out. Potting mix, chia seeds and wheat grass seeds, river stones glowing sand both pink and blue, a cute little raccoon and campfire figurines stickers and a plant mister....the sand and the campfire glow in the dark and some of the stickers glow. It comes with your own plastic terrarium jar with lid, potting mix, stones, glow in the dark sand and resin figures, stickers, a plant mister, your seeds ( chia and wheat grass seeds), and the instructions! The stickers stuck on the outside of the jar really well and have held up and not came off! The stickers made decorating so fun with being able to make it your own. It is incredible how well this Grow N' Glow Terrarium kit works. My daughter likes it because it stimulates her creativity and keeps her busy. The Grow N' Glow kit includes a jar, decorative lid, potting mix, organic chia seeds, wheat grass seeds, glowing sand, river stones, and a plant mister. There are also glow-in-the-dark stickers of constellations and stars. She loves it & it teaches her about nature while being fun. As far as putting it together goes, it was straightforward. It was a blast making this terrarium and watching it grow. I strongly recommend this product.
I bought this around march 21, it has grown a lot but it also grew something else with it. Mold on the back of the paper it says you might see mold but it is non toxic. It says it is do to humidity and over watering. It give you a spray bottle but does not tell you how many sprays to use. The mold has been there since the 3rd day I got it. I have not watered it since but the mold still grows more and more. It does not tell you how to make it go away other than airing it out. It is cool but it makes me uncomfortable that mold is growing in my room and keeps growing more.
I bought this on Black Friday. Really cute kit but when we went to build it today and opened it, found out some of the items were missing. No stones and no seeds so we cannot grow anything. Its just gonna be a boring jar of sand and dirt. I don't have the receipt to bring it back anymore. The box didn't appear tampered with in any way so I'm not sure why this happened. Probably won't buy these kits again or else would open the box while in the store to make sure it's all there to actually be able to do the darn thing.
At first hearing the amount of water required to seed this terrarium, I immediately thought that it would get wet rot and/or fungus. The seeds have sprouted within 5 days and my daughter expressed interest in eating the Chia sprouts. I'm a little hesitant and do not endorse eating the sprouts from such a moist enclosed jar with little to no information on the contents orgin. It's a cute gift; I'd be reluctant to give it any more credit at this time except that the seeds did in fact germinate and sprout. So it did what it advertised and I won't complain. It's a fair product at a fair price.
I bought this as a birthday present for my 5 year old and she absolutely LOVED it! She says that it’s her fairy garden. She had so much fun putting it together and it’s so happy seeing the little garden grow. There’s a few reviews that say that it doesn’t glow in the dark but it absolutely does. If you want it to glow in the dark you need to put it under a good flashlight and leave it for a few minutes and once you turn it off it glows and it looks super cute! The only thing I wished it had was more of the glowing sand because I feel like it’s not enough. I will definitely be buying it again for my older daughter.
