The three temperature manual control, allows low, high,  and warm settings. I like the plastic handle on the lid because it doesn’t get hot to the touch. Cleaning is easy with the large removable crock. And even though most people think of crockpots for fall and winter cooking, I use it year round in my kitchen.

This is a large, basic function crock pot. First time I used it I loaded it up with a large chicken and stuffing recipe. The unit handled it just fine. The low temp setting seemed just a bit higher than my old slow cooker. Will adjust to that difference in the future. Price was the best on Walmart site. Easy ordering and fast shipping. If you're looking for for a basic slow cooker at an affordable price, this one should meet your needs. I hope it lasts as long as my old one.

The first one was a gift, and it came with a chip out of the inside of the crock. I called and they replaced it without any question. I’ve had the second one for 6-7 months. Cooked completely thawed out hamburger in it. I went to stir it, and I heard a “pop”. I took the crock out, and there was about a 6” crack from the bottom and going up the side. This is by far the worst crockpot I’ve ever had, and my prior two lasted 10 years and never actually broke when I got rid of them. I just wanted to upsize.

I’ve had this since mid April and it now has a crack in it. I’ve used it maybe a handful of times, today being one of them. Go to clean it and noticed liquid on the inside bottom and leaking out underneath also. Washed it and found a small hairline crack on the inside and outside bottom. Sucks cause I really liked this crockpot and like I stated, haven’t had it long. My old crockpot I had for years without any issues, only got this one cause I wanted to upgrade to a bigger one, this was a disappointment for sure.

Get back to basics, just enough, simplicity, less busy and you’ll have everything you actually require. I have only made one stew (recipe is for my own) with this that lasted this one-point buck eight days and 11-good sized helpings. It was the prep of the 26-ingredients that occupied my time but once in crock the warrior slave stew succotash began to fill the air with a wonderous complex aroma and with the help of a round of biscuits from the oven hole it seeped life into every cell of my body vessel upon initial serving. Consideration: “warm” setting will keep the contents warm enough to eat. “low” setting will keep a slight bit of movement in the contents (though I imagine that depends on ingredients). “high” will boil water or bubble contents. These devices can also be used for the process of cleaning water through distilling. I needed a larger crock. The 8-quart went to my second ex-wife last year and all I had was a 3-quart. Now my crock are paired up and ready to charge my body vessel with nutrients, electricity, life. Cheers it filling your body vessel chow/poo hose!
I read the reviews for this crockpot and somebody said it only holds 7 quarts of water. Inquiring minds have got to know! I used an anchor 2 quart measuring cup, and put exactly 8 quarts in this. It fills it up about 3/8 of an inch Below where the lids sets! Am my book this is excellent! I was cooking two bags of 15 bean soup in a 6 quart crockpot. It filled it up right to the edge. I really needed a little more space for two bags. This crockpot will be excellent for that. That’s including a piece of ham about 5/8 of an inch thick and an 11 inch circle. Thank you for such a good job from crockpot.
I had bought a different manufacturer's 8 quart pot several years ago. It takes forever to heat up even on high. My 6 quart is literally 35 years old and still going. I decided to replace the 8 quart. Boy am I glad I did! This crockpot is just perfect! It brings a full pot to a simmer, not a boil lol as others stated, in a reasonable time, on high. Low keeps it at a slow simmer. And yes, it is 8 quarts. No digital worries. Turn it and forget it. Just like my 35 year old workhorse.
I chose this Crock-Pot because I don't need all the bells and whistles. I did need a larger model however, and I absolutely love the color. I've only used it three times so far but I absolutely love it. It heats evenly and quickly. The top fits well, and the cord is a good length. Like I said it's not fancy but it will definitely get the job done, I would recommend this to anybody who just needs a good, reliable crock pot.
Manual crockpots don't get messed up if you have a temporary power outage.In other words -- if you have a button operated pot and the power blinks your food is ruined if you do not realize it. If you have a manual pot and the power blinks your crockpot will continue to cook your meal at the low or high setting. Ruined a entire pot roast meal one time with a button operated "fancier" pot ONE time years ago now--- and after having to throw a complete meal in the trash I will only purchase manual operated crockpots!Obviously this does not help you if you have a long time power outage but that is not the fault of the pot-Happy with the amount of food this crockpot can hold! Happy with the results! Happy with the look( really like RED "BOOMER" ) it does take up some ... Beware to buyers! This claims 8 quart, it is actually 7 quart. The label is misleading and states 8 quart. I put 7 quarts of liquid into this slow cooker and it filled it to the line where the lid sits. It is the same as size as my older slow cooker which is also 7 quarts. I will keep it because I needed a new one, but you wind up paying more because its red, not because its 8 quarts! That mislabeling of a product doesnt deserve a 5.
