My RAM came in on time and unharmed, but reading reviews from other Crucial products has brought about suspicions of Chinese interception or imposure upon the exports, which is strange since my draw in the lot worked out so well. I say techromancy because this RAM brought an old Dell Optiplex 780 back from the dead, and now it runs beautifully in all of it's DDR3 glory. Games run well (Light games, of course, I'm rocking a Core2 CPU), work programs run well, my order performs within expectations as I have run the benchmarks, it's good! Techromancy, I say, TECHROMANCY~. If you have an old computer kicking around, or want to kick around an old computer, Crucial has the RAM to snuff as long as they can get the product to you! Very impressed!

I had almost given up on my HP ProBook 6470b, which shipped with 4GB of DDR Ram. This set of Crucial Ram is 100% compatible with my laptop, and breathed new life into. Suddenly I was able to run multiple applications without the machine bogging down. I could actually edit video on this machine, something that was an exercise in frustration prior to this upgrade. If you have an older laptop, this ram will breath new life into it!

This product has worked wonders on my old ThinkPad t410 that was really struggling on its previous 4gb of ram. Being a web developer some of the programs I run can be memory intensive. Not to mention multitasking before was a nightmare combined with google chromes notorious appetite, working was slow going. I popped in the new memory and voila!! It was like having a new machine! If you own a Lenovo ThinkPad t41 and wish to expand your memory to 8gb I cannot recommend this product enough. Prior to buying this I even bought what I thought was the same from the Crucial website and it turned out to not be compatible with my machine. Definitely my recommendation for anyone looking to upgrade.

I used Crucial's compatibility tool to verify that it would function for my computer, but after installing it, I began to get random restarts, and after a time, my computer would not boot at all into the OS. I had to replace the hard drive and put a new license of windows on it to be able to use the computer. Putting the old memory back, all the problems went away, but when I tried these new sticks again, the restarts began again. I ran several memory checking utilities on the sticks, with no errors, but the restarting and disk corruption problems happen only with them installed. Good Points: By installing the 8Gb from these chips I only increased my capacity by 2Gb but every little helps. Unfortunately my laptop can't use more than 8Gb. However, that combined with a new (Crucial) SSD and a new OS has pumped new life into an old laptop.Always found Crucial memory to work as it should, hopefully I won't experience any problems.No problems switching the memory in the laptop but it does help if you know how to do it as there may be small latches each end that release and allow the memory module to slope forward and release.Improvement Points: None.
I purchased this to replace my laptops memory so I could double the memory. Once installed it lasted about 30 minutes then the laptop shuts down. Will not restart, basically dead until I put the old memory back in, then boots and runs fine. If I put this memory back in, it runs for about 30 minutes then shuts down. Its definately the ram. Unfortunately I didn't install this right away when I received it, so I can't return it and will have to deal with manufacturers warranty.
Installed the RAM, computer no longer will boot. Kept saying the PC was overclocked and to reduce frequency. Dropped RAM clock from 1600 to 1333, no change same message. Then notice that RAM check during post only shows 7gb instead of 8... uh oh. Pull the stick, replace with the old RAM and... starts to boot, dont get the overclock msg, but the system keeps going to a repair screen asking to choose my keyboard layout, except i can't select anything; wired or wireless keyboard and mouse do not respond in any way. So now my media PC is kaput from RAM. To say that I'm unhappy is a mild understatement, a stick of RAM broke my PC...
the early 2010s saw business PCs introduce 1/2/4GB DDR3 rams, many of those computers are still competent to do the job. However modern software, especially operating systems, web browsers and email managers consume so much memory, more than the factory memory delivered on those PCs. this is a perfect upgrade that works for many of them. Just keep in mind you need to check if the RAM stick is compatible with the MB; Business PCs are very limited with compatible upgrades because they are usually made by one manufacturer for specific purpose.
Purchased 2 of these kits to upgrade two Dell Inspiron 15-3542 laptops (ordered as Staples Item 2072784) and a Toshiba Satellite C55-B5350 I'm refurbishing, Staples Item 1325660). The Toshiba accepted one of the kits as paired 8GB modules for the maximum 16GB DDR3, and each of the Dell laptops accepted a single DDR3 8GB module for maximum RAM, too. This is my first DDR3L upgrade, with the Dell laptop indicating only dual voltage (1.35v / 5v) DDR3L as compatible, but this Crucial DDR3 standard 1.35v PC3-12800 SODIMM seems to work fine on the Intel motherboard. A pleasant surprise and three successfully upgraded laptops all together.
