Excellent quality food processor. This is a very, very good time-saving device for the kitchen. While I am only an occasional cook (and NOT a Chef), the Cuisinart Pro Custom 11 Food Processor is a tool to simplify kitchen prep work. I appreciate the variety of cutting tool configurations. Abiding by the Cuisinart (published / included) recommendations is the best place to start. I also appreciate the built-in safety features. Those protect the user and also the machine itself. This is a very high-end kitchen tool and it takes many repetitions of just using it to understand what it can actually do. The quality is definitely appreciated at this end, as well as the versatility. This tool can do a whole lot more than just chop food.

I had a 10+ year old 11-cup Cuisinart processor whose motor died recently. This was a replacement. It is working fine but is ever so slightly noisier than the motor on the last one. Not excessively so, but I do notice it. The plastic cup that fits atop the feed tube fits VERY tight, but I can, with some effort, get it out of place to pour in ingredients. My old machine's plastic cup came out with finger touch. Other than those things, I'm pleased and hope to get as many years out of this one as I did the last Cuisinart. I bought Cuisinart for brand reliability.

I bought the Pro Custom 11 cup food processor to replace my DLC 8 plus that broke after 32 years of use. I wanted to use all my old blades including the chopping blade with the 4 rivets.I found the two food processors to work the same. I don't understand why so many people complained about the newer models being difficult to operate in terms of locking and unlocking the lid. The new food processor is made in China. My old model was made in Japan. My older Japanese blades are much heavier than the newer Chinese blades. People have reported that the newer chopping blade flies off the stem. My older Japanese blade is positioned with minimal gap between it and the bottom of the bowl. So no food can get caught underneath the blade. I have wanted this food processor for 40 years. It exceeds my expectations. Shreds cheese effortlessly. Sliced bell pepper, onions and garlic for pizza perfectly. Last night I made my grandsons’ favorite frozen mango yogurt pops that I usually prepare in a blender. It was a pleasure. I look forward to using this food processor more in the future, especially the cup for adding oil for emulsifying.
I have owned Cuisinart food processors since my first one in the 1970's!I t actually came with a James Beard recipe book that I still use! It changed the way I cook and when the top to my former bowl broke and could not be replaced, I immediately bought a new one this year! I don't think I can do without one! I grate cheese, mix and grind spices, chop and slice veggies for soups, make dough for pot stickers, shred potatoes for latkes, chop nuts for baking, make tapanades in minutes....it does it all, easily and quickly! If you have never used one, try it, no big learning curve and you'll find it to be a game-changer!
This is perfect and exactly what I needed. I had an old model food processor like this and after many years of use I gave it away and bought me another one the same model. Very nice machine. I use it often to process cooked red beans as my family enjoys fried beans to spread on tortillas. We also like hummus and chips so I used my food processor for the garbanzo beans. I recommend this food processor, it is easy to use and I like the lock in lid which provides safety.
I miss my old Cuisinart food processor - which I had to give up because parts weren't available to replace because all had been changed to BPA free. Couldn't my old style just be made BPA free? It easily and quickly snapped together, ran instantly without issues. This new model is so aggravating and tricky to get all the pieces together quickly, making me feel like it would be faster to just hand chop and grate everything instead of trying to connect all the parts. No instructions are even in the manual - you have to watch a YouTube video. If you need a quick reference, good luck. Often, when I think I have pieces together, the machine won't start because of some flooky little glitch in how the parts did or did not get together precisely. I think it's been over-designed, perhaps too many designers and they couldn't agree on which parts to create, so used everyone's ideas. It's heavy, so if you have to keep it on a shelf, you need to be strong enough to support the weight as you slide it off the shelf. The S/Curved blade is about the only original-design attachment. I bought this model because it was the highest CR-rated model we could afford, and because it had a good rating for making puree. Yes, indeed, it's great at pureeing, such as making hummus. But, I had to resort back to my little 4-cup model to chop onions because my first attempt came out onion puree. Knowing what I know, I'd think twice about buying this model again - but being without being able to get the part to mine, we finally bit the bullet and bought a new one. At least it is high powered, which is MUCH better than the first one we bought to try to replace our old one - another Cuisinart, with many of the same issues of over-designed parts, which we returned because of the massive numbers of parts to assemble and store and tricky to use, too. Was hoping this one would be better. Finally giving up and hoping that someday Cuisinart will get the idea that simplicity is superior.

A great product that I have owned since the 1990s! The work bowl on my previous one became worn after so many years although the food processor and all accessories still worked beautifully. Planning to gift the old one (with a new work bowl) to my daughter, I opted to buy a completely new food processor. This appliance quickly accomplishes so many tasks in the kitchen from making pie crusts to bread crumbs to grating cheese to making salsas to mixing cookie dough; the list goes on and on! Walmart had the best price out there and it even beat Amazon Prime for me!

I have all of the DLC-8 discs from the old one which also fit the new model so that was a big factor in making my decision. This is a fantastic product that I use all the time for so many types of food preparation such as slicing, chopping, mixing, grating, shredding, etc. This model no longer comes with a dough mixing blade like the old one did but you can use the chopping blade instead for most dough recipes. Or, if you're like me, just use your stand mixer for that task.
