It has the smallest base "footprint" of any 8-cup processor out there, which is great because I don't have a whole lot of counter space. The slicing/grating blades are double sided, so that's fewer parts that needs to be stored. They box they came in stores easily in the cabinet, so I just keep them in that. Easy to clean, easy to use. As far as the bowl and lid not fitting and/or the processor not turning on (as mentioned on other reviews): the bowl handle and the feeder tube have to be facing you for everything to lock into place and diactive the safety. Simple as that. And as for being refurbished-- no complaints here! Works like a charm, and for less!

This Cuisinart food processor is a workhorse! I don't know how I lived without it but I never want to live without it again! There are three options that will slice, shred, and chop or puree. This is such a time saver for shredding cheese, slicing veggies, etc. The blades switch out easily to change tasks. It is very easy to use and everything breaks down for easy clean up. The basket and blades are dishwasher safe and the base wipes down easily. The appliance itself is heavy and durable. There is one important safety feature that I really love because. I often have little helpers in the kitchen! The blades simply will not turn until all pieces are connected appropriately, which means until the safety guard (the plunger piece) is in place it just doesn't start. This food appliance has made meal prep and regular cooking in my house a breeze. We use it often to shred blocked cheese, mince bulk garlic cloves, and make fresh pesto. We have also used it to make some slushies before for the kids, they enjoyed it. Haven’t ran into any issues with the quality of this appliance. Easy to clean and dishwasher safe (I keep on top rack). I remember watching some reviews of some who hand washed due to fogging, but I haven’t experienced that at all.

I love this so much, wasn't sure if I should got one since I have a blender, a hand blender, and a food chopper. But this baby is everything. It's so easy to use and super easy to clean. It shreds cheese so well. I literally can't get over it. Very powerful. Make coleslaw a piece of cake. I only wish it had a thinner plate for shredding, since the thinnest size isn't thin enough. It comes with a cookbook as well.

Just As Good As The One I Bought 40 years ago for many times the price
23 May 2024

I bought a Cuisinart 8 cup food processor about 40 years ago and have used it several times a week since then. The other day it just stopped working...I think it was just tired, No problems; it worked flawlessly for all those many decades. Still, when it came time to replace my food processor it was not a great time money-wise. I tried just not having one for a while but that got really old really fast. I wanted a new one but did not have $hundreds to spend on one. I think the one I bought originally might have cost about $500 or so. Looking on ebay, I found this one for far far far less $ and it works just wonderfully. I hope to get many years of use out of it and have to say, Cuisinart has made a lot of great changes to their food processor and I expect this one ... MoreI bought a Cuisinart 8 cup food processor about 40 years ago and have used it several times a week since then. Leaks Like a Sieve

I purchased this food processor in May this year. I had deliver to home and I must state that Canadian Tire's home delivery service is fantastic. I wish I could say the same about the Cuisinart Elemental 8 Cup Food Processor. One cannot put more than two cups of liquid and about 1/2 a cup of solids before the contents start spraying out of the sides, between the top and the bowl, and making a horrific mess of the counter top. The parts do not fit tightly and Cuisinart really did not consider this in their design. Going to YouTube, I have seen many videos where this is a pervasive problem. The blade is made of low grade stainless steel with lots of chromium in the alloy to make corrosion resistant but sadly lacking in carbon. Going to YouTube, I have seen many videos where this is a pervasive problem. The blade is made of low grade stainless steel with lots of chromium in the alloy to make corrosion resistant but sadly lacking in carbon. The blade is not strong enough to even break up a peppercorn or a broken up cinnamon stick.I have had great faith in Cuisinart in the past. Their multiclad cookware is a class act, especially the model made in France, which performs almost as well as All-Clad Tri Ply. I have extra frypans of this to compliment my All-Clad and Demeyere and have had great results. But their food processors are a disaster and so are their garlic presses. Cuisinart replaced one with a newer model and it was very poor in performance.I will return this to Canadian Tire, if I can find the box and receipt, and will consider getting a commercial unit which are designed for constant use. I use my food processor two or three time per day and the cleanup is a nightmare with model.Canadian Tire has competing products, investigate them.

Poorly designed
30 January 2023

Poorly designed. On a previous processor, all accessories were stored in the unit. This unit, you have to find a separate location to put them away. You cannot use the grating circle and the rotary chopper at the same time. In my previous one I could. Yes, there are times when one would use both. The feed-tube is about 1/4" too wide preventing you from inverting it for storage reducing the overall height by 2" which would allow me to store it on a shelf. I could have included the cutting disks in the unit. The picture showed what looks like an extra bowl that was not included.

Product looked good but wouldn't run
14 January 2024

The restored Cuisinart 8 cup food processor looked perfectly fine on arrival but, I couldn't get it to run. Unfortunately, I could not get the main food chamber to lock in place. If I were to guess, this was probably the reason the food processor was returned originally. It does make me hesitate to try a refurbished product again. I will say that the return process and product pick-up went very smoothly. That was appreciated.

Why did I wait so long?

I haven’t owned a food processor for several years, thinking they take up too much space and aren’t used all that often. Recently though, I’d really gotten tired of grating cheese and worrying about scraped knuckles. So after reading multiple reviews and making comparisons, I ordered the Elemental 8. Let me just say, it’s been one of the happiest purchases I’ve made in a long while. It was easy to set up, and I really liked the click security feature of attaching the basket and lid. The first thing I noticed during its maiden run, was how quietly it sailed through its task! Not at all the noisy crashing I remember from my old processor.
