These are great! They work wonderfully for rim protection and sidewall support. I know it says in the description that cush core valves are sold separately but my CushCore Single 27.5 came with a cush core valve stem, so I didn't need to buy valve stems separately

CushCore does everything they claim. The bike seems much quieter, damp, smooth even in chunky stuff. I tried running it flat to see how it would do and you could definitely ride home at medium speed. with no pressure in the tire.

After a few seasons of using and loving Pro Cushcore front and rear on the DH bikes, we decided to try XC inserts on the rear wheel of a lighter duty wheelset. So far so good! Looking forward to trying the Trail inserts when they come out as well.

Added Confidence
8 August 2022

Provides an added level of confidence not as worried as blowing out tire and/or denting the rim. Kind of a pain to install, break in your tires or let them sit out in the sun so that they're more pliable. Well worth the extra effort.

Freaking love Cushcore
19 April 2023

I was skeptical about the pro’s and con’s of Cushcore like a lot of people that haven’t ridden a bike with them installed. Then I tried them in my bike park bike…..Everything that cushcore claims to be, lives up to those claims. The ride dampening and benefits of lower pressures is obvious as soon as you start ripping the trails, the added weight from the inserts is negligible compared to how much this improved my ride feel. After a year of bike park use on that bike, I now have cushcore in all my bikes :D

Game changer!
13 August 2023

These are amazing! Paired with some Maxxis double downs total game changer. Increased stiffness in the casing and I can run lower air pressure without having to worry about pinch Flats. Total confidence inspiring. I swear I got 10 times better instantly. Within one day I was going faster and hitting bigger jumps with way more confidence after putting these on my bike. I primarily do downhill but I also do cross-country and I run 21 PSI in the front and around 22 23 in the back and have no problem pedaling a thousand ft. up and barreling a thousand down. I would definitely find your lbs that knows how to install these and have them do it especially if you're running double downs or something with a thick casing. They are extremely difficult to put on. I broke three Park Tool bike levers and still never got them on. There's definitely a trick to it. I'm running Santa Cruz Reserve Carbon wheels that are 30 ID with the Double Downs it's extremely tight. My recommendation is pay your LBS be done with it. Yes I would definitely recommend. I tell everybody I talk to about tires to check these out. Cush Core could definitely do a better job with their video on installation and tips and tricks. The product does Rock though!

Smooth that washboard out!
13 August 2023

As a larger rider (I'm big boned...) kitted I'm 6'2" 260, the support these give the tire sidewall is worth the price alone. Allowing some slightly lower tire pressure is huge for me too not only in increased traction but it doesn't sacrifice compliance. Another huge advantage is the vibration dampening; washboard, roots, rocks and such are much less transferred into my hands. Just get them, they are bad@ss.

The CushCore Pro Kit is a foam insert that sits inside a mountain bike tyre against the rim to prevent pinch flats, acting as an awesome damper and reducing the sudden unwanted spring back that you get from normal pneumatic tyres. It does this by dividing the inner volume of the tyre in half, with air underneath the tread as normal, and the CushCore insert next to the rim. The CushCore absorbs shock to protect your rim from sudden impacts and preventing pinch flats and support sidewalls to eliminate excessive tyre roll in corners, so that you can run lighter tyres for aggressive riding. It also acts as a mechanical bead lock, anchoring the bead inside the rim so that tyre burping is highly unlikely. Designed to be used with tubeless-ready or tubeless converted mountain bike rims and tyres, it is made to be waterproof, compatible with tubeless tyre sealant, and tuned for an appropriate rebound feel. Unlike most puncture protection systems, the foam will last longer than a single impact. The ability to withstand repeated impacts without damage is typical of far heavier foams, giving this kit a significant edge.
