I'm using this UPS with an iMac 27. My impression is that it has been a good choice. It has NZ-style power plugs, unlike some of the other UPSs around. We've had four or five power brown-outs during the gales of the past couple of weeks, and each time several other PCs and some electronic equipment has lost power, switched off or been reset, but the iMac and the networking gear powered through this UPS have kept running without a problem. Once the USB cable was connected to the iMac, OSX recognised the UPS and through the Energy Saver Preferences several automatic shutdown settings became available based on the UPS power remaining. This means you can set the iMac to shut itself down when UPS battery power gets down to 10 remaining, for example. An icon displays on ... MoreI'm using this UPS with an iMac 27. Purchased the CyberPower 2200VA UPS to keep my NAS devices and internet connection alive when working from home. The unit itself is a pretty easy setup with 4 outlets on the rear, There is an audible alert when the power goes out and the UPS switches to battery, this will sound periodically until power is restored.. Swithching to the UPS and back again when power is restored is very quick and so far has not caused any problem for me. A good quality UPS for home.

Reliable UPS. Will last a long time. Just pay attention to the beeping noise or hot top cover. This mean the two batteries need to be replaced. Bought one 5 years ago. Now bought another one for the NBN

Bought one to replace my aging EAST UPS (they are an excellent UPS too) and wow this UPS is excellent as well, very informative on-screen software as well as the screen on the UPS itself. Holds up fine against SE QLD's very ordinary power grid. *This UPS does emit an audible hum from the transformer inside but it's no louder than light fan noise from a PC. On battery power there will be light noise from the inverter (of course)*
I received my unit a few days ago and have been running it since it arrived. The instructions that came with the unit were clear and it was easy to set up (basically an optional initial charge, then use it). The software installed easily (on to Windows 7 64-bit) and immediately detected the UPS and reported on the UPS metrics. Furthermore the software looks modern enough, is simple to use and also includes a desktop gadget that can keep track of various data such as power costs and voltage levels etc.I bought this unit to protect my main Dell XPS system, with a 22" monitor, 2x 2Tb HDD, 1x ATI HD 5750 video card and a couple of USB devices. I knew that I didn't *need* this 2200Va model, however, the additional run-time it provides (about 54 minutes with the above hardware) and additional capacity seemed like it was worth the relatively small price increase compared to the smaller rated models. As it turns out I am using between 175 and 210 watts (of the rated 1320) so I have plenty of spare capacity to plug in an additional machine (although only one PC can communicate to the UPS - which also provides auto power off for the PC, so I'll have to figure out a network command to turn off the other machine, or just turn it off when I am not using it).In terms of the unit itself, aside from being very heavy it is smart looking, compact and looks at home under my desk.Since I have only had the unit a short time I can't comment on longevity and reliability and the mode of operation during power failure, but so far so good in all other aspects. The instruction manual comes with an e-mail address to contact for spare batteries if needed.Based on the limited UPS options available for the home user I'd say you could do much worse than buy one of these units.
I Purchased the CyberPower 2200VA UPS to keep my NAS running and internet connection alive when the power goes out. It really couldn't be easier to setup. Just plug the unit into the power and plug any device you what protected into it, and you are good to go. There is also an optional USB connection for the NAS so it can monitor the power state. Then the NAS can be setup to protect itself prior to the UPS running out of battery power. In my setup (6 drive NAS, modem and router) it lasts at least 40mins There is an audible alert when the power goes out and the UPS switches to its battery, this will sound periodically until power comes back on. The UPS automatically switches back again when power is restored and for the price I think it great value.
I bought this to protect a NAS and it works just as I intended. When the power goes off, my NAS goes through the proper shutdown process within two minutes. The UPS can then run a laptop and a broadband router for another two hours.
This is the 2nd one I've bought. This time I have bought it to keep my electronic devices alive (replacing one of lesser capacity). My other one keeps my two fridges and two freezers alive with a bit of help from extra battery capacity added on, but the capacity on this model is already higher than most other consumer-grade UPS devices on offer and hasn't let me down yet. I like having the electrical info displayed too
Before purchasing the CyberPower - VALUE2200ELCD, I have owned both two other units. One a CP1500EPFCLCDA and the other VP1000ELCD. Compared to the previous two unit the build quality is poor. The 1500VA displays more runtime with more load thatn the 2200VA unit. There was loud unit with the first unit. Cyberpower sent me a replacement unit which also hums but not as bad as the first unit that was purchased.
This item looks good and works OK, but it makes a HORRIBLE noise that you can hear several rooms away when the battery operates. I have reported this to technical support but they became defensive and have not (yet) provided a solution. If this issue is solved the product will get maximum marks (except for quality assurance), but until then I can't mark it positively given my experience to date.
