D'Addario EJ15 Acoustic Guitar Strings Phosphor Bronze Extra Light 10-47

Went for a lighter gauge of strings on my Gibson acoustic for ease of playing, rather than the 11-52 set which I had initially. There is no loss of tone or volume using the 10-47 set ~ although I did keep the G at 0.022 rather than the 0.023 which is provided in the set. Still produces a warm sound and recommend these strings if you are finding it difficult/painful to play with higher gauges

As with any guitar string, D'Addario EJ15s need to be matched with the right guitar to give the best sound. For beginners, they are easy on the fingers and, for more experienced players, they offer a particular tonal range and ease of 'bending'. When a player is experienced enough to know what sound they want, it is very likely D'Addario will offer a string to meet their needs. I find EJ15s durable and responsive.

I played around with different brands and recorded how they sounded too. These strings are my preferred choice and winner. I like how when I string my acoustic they give me that brand new bright warm tone almost like a 12 string, but as I break them in, they round out to warm and fat, which gives me great options behind the recording console for tracks and mixdowns. I prefer the light gauge .12s. They stay in tune very very well when strung right, and handle hard bends, slide guitar, capos, hard strumming and give really lovely harmonics too. Unless they go bankrupt, D’Addario can assume I’m a customer so long as I am recording and performing and own an acoustic guitar. D'Addario never does me wrong

I've been a D'addario guy for a long time, and use them on all my guitars. I like the phosphor bronze tone on my acoustics, and use the extra lights because I have hand and finger joint issues. Actually 10s are pretty heavy for me, I use 8s on my electrics.Anyway, they sound great, are easy to play and have always been reliable for me.

Easy to Play Strings

A friend of mine put light gauge electric strings on his acoustic guitar so it would be easier to play. I did like the feel but the sound was too thin so when I came across the Extra Light D'Addario's for acoustics I was excited to try them. My preferred style of playing an acoustic has recently become almost all finger-picking without finger picks. I tried them on my vintage classic dreadnought Yamaha F335ii and they sound good with a little less low end and a little more thin high end which you would expect. Also there is a tendency for the little E string to rattle as I use an upward stroke with the index or middle finger to play it. I will try switching that string out with a little higher gauge to alleviate that problem. They are great for strumming light rhythm with a balanced bright sound using a Fender thin pick so I would definitely use them for recording rhythm parts. For recording finger-picked parts I will continue using regular light gauge strings on a Martin. The D'Addario extra lights are easy on the fingers and good for practicing any style. They would also be a good choice for beginners

Extra Light Gauge - The Best of Both Worlds!

I have one electric guitar and one acoustic. My acoustic is my preferred because I love the feeling of the vibration against my body, but I don't always like to play with traditional acoustic guitar strings because they can be a little bit too loud in comparison to my fairly timid untrained voice and they're also a little harder to play. Once I found out about lighter gauge strings, I was sold! I can't imagine ever going back to thicker strings. They play great and don't compromise the sound too much considering the difference in size.

I needed to get lighter strings for my Martin guitar, The D'Addario extra light weight were just the product I needed. With fingers getting a little stiffer, I needed to drop down a little in string thickness. But I was not going to do this unless the 'Martin Ring' on the SC-13C kept it's geat volume and tone. The guitar tech suggested these and was so right about their strength and sound/. Best XL's and also a great modest Price!

Hands Down, Best Strings Out There!

Best strings on the planet....PERIOD! I`ve been using D`A`dd`s exclusively for 40 yrs.now. Yes, there are other brands out there I`ve used that sound just as good. Catch: D`Addario`s are the ONLY ones that not only hold their tune and stay bright for a very long time.The tensile strength of these strings are unsurpassed! I am a lead guitar player as well as a very hard strummer. You people know exactly what I`m talkin` about here.Takes a long time even for me to break one! I really can`t believe how affordable they are also. Literally pennies more expensive than cheaper brands! Thanks D`addario, for making the best stings in the world! P.S. this review is on their acoustic strings which I have recently purchased. I use the .009 - .042 on my electrics.

Solid, well-priced light acoustic strings

I got these strings because playing long acoustic sets, hours of guitar lessons, practicing, bending etc can get tiring after a while. Maybe most of the time I'm playing electric or on the nylon guitar, so the strings are bit easier. Anyway, I wanted something easy to play. I've seen folks throw electric strings on an acoustic before, I find the tone and volume underwhelming.Enter these strings, the lightest I could find. They sound good (perhaps slightly quiet, not sure, not really A/B testing), bend easily enough (it's an acoustic guitar so it's still a bit of a pain),and have good enough tone. The price is right. Wow! I am so happy with these acoustic guitar strings I recently purchased at Sam Ash. My Fender acoustic has renewed brilliance with the high strings and a beautiful bass response with the lower strings. Wonderful. Thanks to my sales person for recommending these D'Addario strings.
