Searched high and low for a set of D'Addario EXL 110 strings with a wound G string. Found them at AMS!!! Took some digging through the website but finally hit pay dirt! I knew if they were out there, AMS would have them. All my electric solid bodies have the unwound G, but one hollow body with a single P90 pickup came originally set up with the wound G string and I wanted to keep the exact same tone. Needless to say, they're perfect for that particular guitar. Bought 3 sets, and will be getting more. All my electric guitars have D'Addario's on them. Great strings.

I have used these strings for many years without issues.Minimal stretch or break in time, clean consistent sound, great life span. I buy in bulk and change often. I have used the 9-46 for years then I transitioned to the 10-46, then back to a 9-42 and that is where i'm at now. I try new string brands often, but I always come back to these.Highly recommended! I make it a habit to throw a 10 pack or so on every other order through AMS. You can put in on a payment plan with a larger purchase with minimal affect on the payment.

I have use D’Addario strings for many years and can recommend for their good tone and duration. This set was to try on a Fender scale length guitar where I was seeking an easier bending on the top strings whilst retaining my usual bottom E, A, and D gauges. The set worked out very well.

I've been using the EXL Nickel Wound 10s for years and they've never let me down. They have a very robust quality that brings my electrics to life! They impart a rich tone, are long-lasting and I've never had a problem with breakage. The overall tension is just right for me and the output level of each string is extremely well-balanced. I use them on various guitars with scale lengths from 24.5" to 25.5" and they feel fine with them all. Lastly, they are very affordable considering their consistent high level of quality!
Recently bought a Tele with an older set of D'Addario's on it. I'd never used them (been an Ernie Ball man since the 80's) and thought I'd give 3 identical sets (I use 9-46 EB's) a try on different guitars (Tele, Strat, LP). I have to admit that decades of EB use must taint my opinion, which is that the D'A's seem less lively sounding dynamically. They do feel more stable somehow when flat-picking... and I like that same sense of 'stability' when finger picking individual chord notes around the first 4 frets. Power chords have a better mid-range tonality perhaps. Glad I tried them, but it takes me months to come to any great conclusion.... will continue to be open minded (while I keep Ernie Ball's on my others).
Because they have a nice clear sound, mostly I play rock like ozzy, angus, van halen, etc...The top strings are light; e-009, b-011, g-016, so when I’m bending a lot it dont put strain to my fingers, unlike when I’m using a 010 set.The bottom strings are regular; d-026, a-036, e-046, so playing chords still sounds tight and beefy.Soon after put on the guitar these strings stay in tune.D’addarios are long lasting is my experience, and I keep them sounding fresh by cleaning them occasionally with ‘fast fret’ from ghs. This works very well for me.
These are on of the best sets of guitar strings you can buy these days. They are very bright sounding strings and also not squeaky sounding either because they are relatively smooth in comparison to others. I believe that they retain their new sound for longer as well. Only downside for me is that this multipack of strings are NOT individually wrapped in their own packaging so each string has to be separated from the other 5 in the pack when fitting them to your guitar. This may well save on paper packaging but I find this very irritating. I was saying to myself at the time I wish that they were old faithful Ernie Balls which are all individually wrapped. In fairness though, the string ferrules are colour coded so you don't get mixed up as to which string is which.
I have used D'Addario strings for many years on all my guitars, acoustic and electric, 6 string and 12 string. For quite a while, I used EXL110+ (9.5 E string) on my lead guitar because the high strings bent well and the low strings still had a somewhat beefy tone. I bought a set of the EXL125 just to try them out, and I really like them. I get a little more bend on the high stings and get a nice chunky tone on the lows. These are my go-to strings for that guitar now. Love the way they play.I use other D'Addario sets for my other guitars. I find I have to match the strings to the guitar and the type of music I am playing with it. That's why D'Addario offers so many types of strings.
I used 9 to 42 gauge for years, then switched to 10-46 for a few years, then I found the perfect marriage in this 9-46 set. Light enough on top for easy string bends and thick enough on the bottom for good chunky rhythm. I really don't know why these gauges aren't the norm, fits my style perfectly. Glad they come in a ten pack..now if they would just make them in a box of 25.
These strings went on my guitar with no fit issues. The length was superb. I could not believe the tone coming from my guitar. I shred so hard the neighbors thought I was having a live concert in my home. Three times I started down the fretboard and blew through riffs that would make Eric Johnson soil his jordash pants. Within minutes of posting a video online my phone was ringing off the hook from shredders around the world wanting to know my secrets. The secret is these strings. They are magic. I recommend these to anyone except finger pickers screw them guys. ROCK ON!!
