I have tried many different brands and types of bass strings and these are the best. Excellent sustain and tone on my short scale bass. Perfect tension for that instrument. Have also used them on standard scale basses and they sound and feel equally great on them.

I was one of the Beta testers for these strings and a regular user of their EXL170's. These have a slightly brighter tone than the EXL170's and seem to keep their tone much longer than the 170's. I used them on my '05 Jazz and when played hard give a nice growl. Feel is comparable to the 170's and I will be switching over to these once they are in regular production.

My boyfriend and I came into the Morse Road location we received great service from the staff! We went home with new guitar strings and one of them popped while putting them on the guitar we went back to the location the next day and they were absolutely wonderful! Not only did they replace the string free of charge they also put it on the guitar for us and then tuned the bass guitar for free! I would definitely recommend Sam Ash to everyone and we will definitely be giving them our business in the future.
This is very good strings in my opinion. It's gives crystal clean highs and deep lows. Probably these D'addario sounds like Elixir but with some differences, of course not so long life but anyway these must be recommended!
These sound good but they are much more slinky sounding and bright compared to regular XL's ... I change my strings a lot, usually every month or so. I had XL's on that were only a few weeks old, these strings are so much slinkier and brighter it's crazy. I'm thinking I'll need to get a thicker size to get the same tone as before.
My fav strings. They feel like they are broken in and ready for longer than other strings.
It looks like good string because some of musicians suggest this string. But my string case was delivered with torn. But my product is safe. next time pleas check product case to. NOT only product
I am a life long D'Addario guy, so making the commitment to spend a few extra $'s to try something new from a brand I trust was no issue.I had this set installed on my main gigging bass (Fender Jazz loaded with Lollar pups and a BadAssII bridge) while it was in for a set up and man...did this bass stand out!!! With the amp EQ set flat and the tone knob dimed full on the bass, the tone was crisp and cut through the mix brilliantly with an amazing snap! Naturally, it's the sum of all parts that count; quality parts used properly make for quality tone...but I have to say that these strings really added positively towards awesome tone!
The only con for these strings is that they don't have colored ends like Rotosounds. Other than that, these are some of the best strings of not the best that I've ever played. Tons of punch, clarity, and they're still kicking after shows on shows.
