This is a poorly designed gate latch. I have 3 issues with it.First off when locking it, the mechanisms are not synchronised meaning that if you lock it from the outside and someone from the inside exits the gate they are now locked out of the property if you lock it from the inside, both sides of the gate are locked and you cannot unlock it from the outside.Second issue is it has a small metal pin which can be seen in the pictures that connects the outside to the inside, the pin will become loose overtime disabling the external opening mechanism from working you, have to uninstall it, replace the pin in the opening mechanism and then put it back together.Thirdly there is no spring keeping tension on the inside latch hook so if you close the gate in a quick ... MoreThis is a poorly designed gate latch. Quite an expensive device for what it is, basically a gate latch. However, it seems to be well made and the enclosed fixings allow quick and easy fitting to a wooden gate and post. The plate supplied for wooden gates does make the clearance between the gate and post a little tight and I had to cut my gate down a bit to make it fit but that's no big deal and I'm happy with the positive action and the lockable feature is a great help.

Another great bit of kit I previously bought the hinge of the same brand and I am impressed again, can see this latch lasting years. Really simple to fit and if you get that annoying gate drop it can easily be adjusted meaning no faffing with the hinges.
Very satisfied with this Gate Latch. Replaced a gate door bolt closure with the LokkLatch & Self Closing hinges to help elderly parents. They love it as so light for them to use with no hand strength required. Great quality latch and looks to be very sturdy.

This latch is displayed with other pool gate latches (I was led there by Bunnings staffer) but you have to open the sealed pack to discover that it is not a legal pool latch in Australia! Why is this not printed on the outside of the packaging? In fact the pack even has an endorsement from Laurie Lawrence! Deceptive and dangerous. This latch is going back.
I'm a postman so am used to all of the different sorts of gate latch used, and just now few of them work well - so many bounce and don't latch when gates are pushed shut. This latch works 100% of the time and looks smart. Nice long bar so it's flexible on how much of a gap you have on your gate. The lock is a handy feature too, although I've not needed to use it yet.
Installed after purchasing a standard latch, and discovering the gate post was too small to accommodate it. It's not cheap, but it's really well made, and will do the job well.NB because the mounting screws go in to the side of the gate and post as well as the face, you need a bit of clearance between the gate and post - check out the dimensions and clearances on the manuf's website before purchasing
