Been jigging with the reel and so far it has performed well. If you want a light star drag for jigging I would recommend.

In NC and we fish for Grouper, I have the 15p,20p,35p,30 and they are all great reels..plenty of drag and I mean plenty of lock down drag right out of the box!!!! Small enough to be really comfortable and it's smooth as a mf..I like it better then the new Saltiga high speed reels...I have alot of reels and I mean alot but this reel is the best I have..plenty of line capacity on the 15 or 20 and I use 50# braid on both and 80 on the 35p .the 35p is a monster and I use it for bigger Grouper and big Amberjacks fishing big baits and it has to much drag but light for its size..For cod,big stripers the 20p should be good unless your in deep water dropping heavy weights, then u go to the 35p and your covered wich has,a narrow spool but holds a ton of line..u can't go wrong ... MoreIn NC and we fish for Grouper, I have the 15p,20p,35p,30 and they are all great reels..plenty of drag and I mean plenty of lock down drag right out of the box!!!! The 35h is a great reel for a jig rod almost as good if not better then a Trinidad 20A or 16A at half the price The drag is smooth and power of the reel is on par with any reel this size...so far I have found no down side to it...I have two of them on two jig rods ready to go.... put it on a UC 90 monster for throwing Tady45s or 7Xs A wonderful reel for the starting jig tosser there cheap and get it done....

I have the older 35h black gold, it is light and powerful, we use it for bottom fishing it is very fast to retrieve your line or fish when you fish deep. It is working after 3 years of hardworking with no maintenance at all.

We focus on grouper and snapper on wrecks and reefs and this beast has plenty of drag to separate the fish from the structure.Wish I could sell all my reels and start over with a fleet of these
I need to cast with it I am using mono only 30 lb ,trying today ,down at the beach, with a 10, 11-6. and a 12 footer...spool a little small ,my fault beautifully built,smooth,pretty well balanced , I am unfairly comparing it to a saltiga 30 t ...I am sure this will be a great reel ..
