2 trips, one was an overnighter and the other 3 nights. Went to use it again and the zip in the bad wouldn’t budge. Had to tear the end so I could use the awning. I’ll be sticking to the cheaper ones from now on. At least they don’t hurt the Walker as much to replace. Not Happy

Top quality! Does need to modify future design to include built in LED light or atleast put and additional awening wall insert strip on the inside/ bottom of awening to allow an led to be slid in like TJM. I have used double sided tape to install the led but do not know how long it will last.

Simple install (although recommend two pairs of hands - avoid sliding the aluminum extrusion along the mounting bolts as the steel bolt heads bind in the channels and scratch it up a bit. Slide the bolts in the channel and then fit to the mounting brackets without sliding around the bolts. Not a complaint, just a bit of advice from a noob). Fit and finish look great and the components have a solid quality feel about them. Very simple to set up and pack away.The plastic hinge points allow great flexibility with how you configure the awning (angle) and I expect will ensure longevity by not putting too much pressure on other components if caught in the wind or errant/clumsy set up. A cracking good awning. I wanted to keep the height down to less than 2.10 meters so as to get in my garage and underground car parks. Also I have a side sliding door on my van so I had to play with the stand-off in order to not jam the door. The Darche Slimline was the obvious choice and I’m glad I made it. A little bit of jiggerypokery with the bracket arrangements and the job was done. The result is brilliant. A very good awning. I’m a happy camper.
Great awning, feels sturdy & well built.The supplied M6 & M8 bolts didn't suit my racks, but I wanted to upgrade them to some low profile tamper-proof M10 Torx bolts & channel nuts anyway - more of an issue with my choice of racks rather than the awning's hardware.It's quite simple to deploy & put away by yourself once you've practised a few times to get the routine, but it can be difficult to zip it back into the cover if you don't roll it up squarely. Also, being made from a heavy material, it can take some time to dry out if you have to pack it away damp. It needs a good few hours of sunshine afterwards to prevent any lingering moisture causing mould. Some reasonable care should see it last a good long time.
After looking at all the options I settled on this version, not too big and heavy but decent coverage with ability to add walls easily.First set up was pretty easy, even if the instructions are somewhat basic. Once you do it you’ll be a pro. 3mins max.Canvas, fittings, bag and all parts are solid. Even the waterproof zips are nice quality. Glad I won’t need to buy another awning next year because this thing will last.
Having reviewed all the options we decided to spend the extra and order a dache. Prompt delivery as always from Snowys. Unfortunately all that came was the awning, no brackets, bolts, guy ropes. Phone call to Snowys who suggested phone call to dache who suggested a phone call to Snowys! Finally Dache accepted the problem. Way too many emails later and very long wait the missing parts arrived. My husband was so not impressed with the quality and length of the bolts that he bought and modified different ones. We’re also taking better quality guy ropes and pegs with us. Still very optimistic that we will love the awning for our forthcoming trip to The Flinders next week.
It's fair to say I've been a bit cynical about all the 4x4 awnings seemingly permanently stuck to all the SUVs doing the school run, picking up the kids. Though now I understand they're probably re-living the wonderful memories of their most recent camping trips, helped out by their 4x4 awning. We had 65mm of rain over a couple of days at Lake Eildon (VIC) and this thing was a very helpful piece of our setup. I had worried that the constant presence of the car would ruin the serenity - but it was a useful wind/weather break. Oh - the product itself worked flawlessly. Strong yet lightweight, well-designed. I've been running a Kings awning for the last 5 years was pretty good for the price but eventually go moldy, the poles jammed when trying to slide and the rivets kept popping... mind you I've been on some rough tracks. Anyway, thought I'd spend a bit more and after looking at reviews when with the darche. It actually cost a lot more but everything about it is quality and looks great, darker colour etc. Time will tell on how long it lasts but very happy so far.
This thing stood up in 80 to 90 k winds when a storm swept through out on the Oodnadatta track. Key was good guy ropes which I swapped out but gee, she held up really well. I tucked her away in the end cause those winds were relentless, and didn’t want to risk it, but highly recommended.
