This umbrella is everything that I was looking for. It is lightweight, easy to open (for me) and easy to close. I wish I had gone with my instincts and bought this one first before trying 2 other brands, one of which was so bad I threw it in the trash. I was looking to not spend so much on a simple manual umbrella but the quality in this one sets it apart. I am extremely happy with my purchase.

I had read a lot of great reviews about Davek umbrellas, so I decided to purchase this Davek mini umbrella. Clearly, those good reviews don't apply to the mini umbrella. I love the size of the umbrella as it easily its into a handbag or even a pocket. But the umbrella itself is terrible - really difficult to open and close. There is no button to open and close it automatically. Instead, you have to push this stiff wire to open it - or close it - and it's really sharp and cuts your hands. And then after you manage to get it open, it won't stay open. You have to keep pushing that wire over and over again. If it does manage to stay open, then you go through the awful process again to try to close it. This umbrella is perfect to carry in your pocket when you are in the field and you need a relief from the sun or some unexpected rain. all my friends wanted one when they saw me take it out of my pocket on our field trip I was the only one with an umbrella. Super easy to carry on.
