Davidoff Zino Eau De Toilette 125ml Spray

I bought this for 2 reasons. Price and I'll try things. I put this on and my wife hates it. Twenty minutes later, she thinks I've changed it for something else but she really likes this one. Does it last? Legs like a young giraffe! It is principally an evening fragrance but you can get bye during the day, perhaps not for work, bit patchouli for that Good value

A timeless classic. I've been wearing Zino for more years than I care to remember and still make sure I have at least one bottle kept in reserve. Talk of Zino being discontinued means I will get another in just in case. Lasts comfortably for 6-7 hours maybe more but Zino is a really pleasant companion for the day or evening out and still, after all these years draws positive comments from people. Ridiculous price for the quality and will always have a place, pride of place in fact in my herd. Pick some up before it disappears, you won't regret it.

Oh my! This was a blind buy. Patchouli lovers dream. This is a sumptuous, rich and luxurious fragrance like an overstuffed antique leather chair. Classic comfort. Woodsy and earthy yet sophisticated. No wonder this treasure has been around for awhile. It is masculine in the traditional sense....not too sweet with a strong earthy vibe. I am a female and I LOVE wearing this. Rich and comforting in cold weather. I get so tired of watered down women's woody fragrances. This has presence. It says I am here! I think this is a unisex fragrance but suitable to women who like stronger so called "masculine " fragrances. There's nothing like time to bring into focus the appreciation of things you may not have in your youth. This is the best patchouli-cedarwood-citrus blast ever. Don't let the price tag fool you, the bargain basement price belies a very well-blended construction. Zino opens very masculine and the opening is a little harsh and synthetic, the clary sage is an amber like aroma that reminds me of Kouros, the first frag that wowed me 25 years ago. After 20-30 minutes marks, everything calms down and you are left with a very creamy sandalwood/ rosewood/ patchouli mix with some lavender and clary sage in the background. What follows is quite wonderful, very different from most of nowadays offerings: a rich layering of dusty, earthy spices over a gorgeous amber! In the base Zino does not disappoint; there is a nice use of patchouli and labdanum here to support a high-quality frankincense note; the whole is dusky, earthy and thick, both satisfying and long-lasting, I manage to get 2 - 3 hours of meaningful projection before becoming a skin scent, and completely fading away in 5 - 6 hours. (the drydown is 'moderate', but definitely not just a skin scent). Note separation through the heart and base phases is excellent. The times and tastes were surely different then, at a time when the true macho classics of the 80's reigned supreme before they were buried by the Cool Water tsunami and its debatable aftermath.If you want a picture of the person who wear this, think of an old school gangster type like Tommy Gun or Al Capone. The serious, brown rain coat with a fedora hat type of man. Davidoff Zino

I wore Good Life and Echo from this house. But it was Cool Water that l had lot of bottles since its launch in the late 80's. Zino, however, slipped under my radar until recently. This is a very masculine and powerhouse cologne from the 80's. It is Johnny Depp's favorite cologne. He should do an ad on Zino even if it is from the 80's when he was just in his early 20's. CD Sauvage is for the new generation. Zino is from his generation. The scent profile of Zino is classic retro style which l prefer nowadays instead of the trendy sweet light stuff of today. Got a lot of compliments. This is GREAT STUFF!

Great classic scent.

This is a great classic scent for a more mature man. Probably 30 plus. It adds a bit of class. Its not what I was really expecting. The opening comes off old school and was a bit off putting to me but a few minutes later when it calmed down there was a nice easy going vanilla scent. Thats not loud and in your face like newer sweet mens scents tend to be. Its an easy going classic scent that doesnt seem outdated or difficult to wear,etc. I really enjoy the way it smells. Its definitely different from everything else thats out nowadays. It seems like it would be a fine office scent, maybe a date night or dressed up occasion.

It's not bad

When I first used it the patchouli and vanilla stood out and carried itself throughout the dry down. Those notes reminded me of someone elderly, not sure who though. Then it was sprayed during the evening it lasted around the 12hr mark. So the longevity is great and it has this subtle sillage. It's not overpowering but someone seated next to you could smell it.

New grooming staple!

There is nothing better than people who embrace and wear fragrances that fits them well. I recently got reconnected with this wonderful fragrance after being at a party 3 months ago, where a gentleman was wearing it. We discussed who, what, where, etc. about Zino. I now have my own bottle of this handsome, rich, layered, lasting fragrance. In my opinion, Zino by Davidoff is a "Real man's fragrance"! I am 55yo, not 22. I don't want to smell like A&F etc. LOL. Plus, the pricing on this fragrance is unbeatable. I own and wear many fragrances from the luxury brands; Gucci, Tom Ford, Creed (which I love) but they all cost a lot more than this equally wonderful, fragrance. I don't go by "branding" I go by what works, and Zino by Davidoff WORKS.

Very strong and strange smell!

I tried Zino in a blind buy along with many other Davidoff fragrances, I looked up Zino and saw nothing but good reviews on it, so i thought why not? Each outing i would try different Davidoff sents purchased from here and all of them smelled very good! Hot water, cool water, Adventure and Champion, all good fragrances. Once i got to Zino it was a different story! i sprayed it and i started to smell like saw dust and wet grass clippings with a hint of cigar smell, not so much cigar smoke but just the smell if you were to sniff a cigar itself. It also seems to have a very faint mintyness and lemon spice too it when it starts dying down. People around me described the smell of pulling weeds in a garden and smashing it in a bucket. a reminiscent of what Zino used to be, along with poor longevity and very weak projection

I have another bottle which I bought 15 years ago, I still have half of the juice left, it is beautiful. I wanted to have a back up bottle so I bought another one, thinking it will be as good, but it is not. This one is very weak, fades away in few hours. projection is almost nonexistent. The older one stays on my skin more that 10 hours. I tried them on my arms both side by side, there is a noticeable difference. The older one was great in longevity and projection from day one.
