SPACE! The final frontier because literally everything is trying to kill you. Very interesting gameplay mechanics: zero gravity (3 dimensional puzzles and combat), combat in a vacuum (that sweet flamethrower you built doesn't work so well without oxygen, and neither do you, you dense meatbag), power to slow things and enemies, telekinesis. Good variety of enemies and boss fights. Combat does get a bit repetitive after you master fighting strategies and weapons. Lots of jump-scares that get a little old after a while. No multiplayer - but you didn't buy it to fight other people. You're a man, woman, or non-binary necromorph that enjoys a good story, with a twist!

wonderfully suspenseful, the cramped corridors of the ship, the music, never knowing when a necromorph would pop out and attack. It's a great horror game. having to conserve your ammo and pick your shots as carefully as possible, wonderful way to raise the tension. the graphics and design of the enemies are excellent. this game is a 10/10

Wow, this game is amazing. one of the best games I have played in a long time. When the first creature appeared I was startled and I liked that and you had to run from it to get your weapon. the graphics in this game are great. the creatures look amazing and so do the rest of the characters and the background. the story is great and the voice acting is great. the intensity of the game is great as well, you are always on edge not knowing when a creature will come out and attack you and the music is just icing on the cake. EA did a great job with this game and I hope the rest are as good or better. If you have not played this game then I recommend you do. This game is Gametastic

Graphics are awesome! The game is very realistic looking. The story is compelling and its progression intriguing. The action is challenging and very horrifying. The keyboard/mouse controls are a bit awkward and take some getting used to. This game is addictive! It's difficult to stop playing! I highly recommend this game!
This game is one of the best horror games I've ever played. It's super cool walking around a half destroyed spaceship while killing aliens. The weapons are cool. Mechanics and graphics are very good and the story is very well put together. The most thrilling part about this game is that it's always dark, so if you hear a noise you'd better turn as fast as you can and hope there isn't an alien standing there. 10/10. Would recommend to all horror game fans.
I started into the Dead Space franchise with Dead Space 2, which I enjoyed so much that I went back and got the original. Believe me, I was not disappointed. The original plays pretty much the same way and involves the same story arc. The story is so neatly done that for me it played more like a prequel having gone through them in reverse order, but that didn't detract at all from the experience. They only made a few minor improvements from the original when they made the sequel which tells you how good the gameplay is in the first one. The only real differences are that there are two less weapons in the original and that there is no way you can alter the diffuculty once you've started a campaign. If you complete a round you must continue on at the same level in order to keep all your upgrades, otherwise, starting a new game a higher or lower difficulty level zeroes your weapon and armor upgrades. This is not the case in Dead Space 2 were you can change your level anytime during a campaign and keep your upgrades. The graphics are fabulous, even the cut seens are better than anything else out there. And the cut scenes aren't too frequent at all, so they are not too long or annoying when they present themself during gameplay. As far as the gameplay goes, it is a basic linear progressing third person shooter. There are no side missions--just one right after another; there are no decision points that effect the outcome, you just move on the the next objective. It's sort of Doom 3 meets Halo. It's just get the job done and kill mutants and necromorphs while your trying to do it. There is no moral ambiguity here--just kill or be killed. A perfect and--dare I say--healthy release after a stressful day in the real world.
I could go on all day but to summarise this game fires on all cylinders.Atmosphere is breathtaking, gameplay is enjoyable, story is gripping, sound design hauntingly great and the horror stays with you long after the game is off. This game is a must play for anyone that wants that stressed out always on your feet feeling while having such a great time.
I was late to trying the Dead Space game series (like super late, first played it on game pass on the series x). I like to collect the physical copy of games that I’ve played so once I finished it, I had to buy the physical copy. DK Oldies had the best price and I was confident that the game would work. I’ll be back next month to buy the second game!
Really good game, not only true to the original but improves on many aspects of the original imo. I'm almost up to my third play through. The combat system is very satisfying and the introduction of new puzzle variations with re-routing power to doors was a great idea. The sound and visual designs are fantastic aswell.
Fun game. Scary at some points. Has some puzzle type challenges thats quite enjoyable. Enemies are different and have interesting ways to unalive them
