Deeper Start Fishfinder

Couldn’t be happier with this portable fish finder! This works from a boat as well as the shoreline just as long as your device sits higher then the fish finder. Perfect for familys with little kids, and beginner fisherman. I used my cell phone as the display and had no trouble seeing fish on my screen.

Excellent help for fishing

Deeper Smart Fishfinder.I go fishing since I was 8, with my father, I have tried many different types of fishing and techniques.But I never imagine I was going to be able to check if there where fishes in the area I was finish in.I like to try new places and new lakes with my Brother, and sometimes we spend hours checking if there is any fish in the water.But now is super easy with this deeper smart fish finder.I just charge it, download the app, and start using it. Fast delivery and service but product lacks accuracy

A slick design and easy to use product but is not very accurate. I use this is in shallow water of 1 to 2 meters and fish finder tells me it's 15 meter depth. Not sure how accurate the bottom contours and fish ID is either. I would not buy this again and will likely return as product is useless to me.

Looks like a game

This display looks like a 2D video game. It seems to be taking pictures instead of live action. Doesn't say which way the fish are headed. I could throw it out and maybe tell general patterns like what rock they like to hang out under but I'm thinking by the time I check this and cast I'm aiming for where the fish used to be a couple minutes ago. I honestly have not had time to go fishing since I've had this product for less than 3 weeks and it's winter in Colorado.

I would like to star by saying how delighted I am with the overall design of the device! I mean, come on, its genius! The fact that I can tie it to the end of my fishing line so it can give me real time feed back on where my hook actually lands, who couldn't benefit from that? Not impressed.

This fish finder was able to accurately measure depth and bottom vegetation. However, the fish id is way off. It was constantly telling me that there were fish in certain areas when my hummingbird fish finder did not show any. I also analyzed the raw data on my humming bird and there was definitely no fish present.The main reason why I returned this fish finder is due to the false positive detection of fish. I can not trust the fish Id and therefore can not rely in any data except for depth and vegetation. Which seemed very accurate.I was impressed with the battery life, magnetic charger etc. However, in it's current state I would not reccomend the deeper start to anyone.I would reccomend that deeper allows the viewing of raw data on the deeper start. It would still be set apart from the deeper pro and pro+ and would allow the user to see greater detail and have confidence when marking fish.I was also not impressed with deeper customer care who could not help or shed light on my issue. I could have had a faulty device but I doubt it.I purchased the lowrance pro fish finder instead and hope it meets my needs. I would suggest looking into the lowrance pro or deeper pro and skipping the deeper start.* in the photo attached you can see that the fish finder is picking up dozens of fish. In reality there was no fish present as my humming bird fish finder did not detect any and I also did not catch any fish in this location.

Poor quality, disconnects, Customer Service aggressive and won't honor warranty

I used the sonar in a few outings, mostly close to my phone on the kayak. Fish readings are completely inaccurate. The 4th or 5th time it started losing connectivity to the phone every few minutes. Battery life is short.Being still under warranty, I emailed customer service. Their answer was that because I haven't complained in 2 years, it's not their fault. Passive aggressive and dismissive. I strongly recommend choosing another sonar (like castable Garmin), because of the above mentioned problems and customer service.

Going to try another brand. Description sounds great. Unfortunately, the unit I received didn't want to stay connected to my phone. Very disappointed in this product coming from a company that has been in the marine fish locator business as long as they have been. Need to do better.

It is very possible because of cold weather, the capability is somewhat limited or the fish at those spots were simply not there at the time I looked.

it's ok but cheap made. sealed just with second glue. enters water. then stops working for a while. report will show , disconnected or to shallow. that will mean water inside. but water inside will damage the battery. anyway its weak. you can not disassemble it . so better would be that the unit would be sealed at least with some kind of silicon glue. and wrapped around with clear silicon tape for extra seal or bumper hit protective features. now I did it better.
