You KNOW the picture is going to be on point and color accurate.Secondly, this C2422HE has USB C hub built in. Think a docking station for your laptop. This solution has been ROCK SOLID compared to other solutions we have tried for docking stations...including competition's OEM products.Lastly, this device has speakers, mics, and a webcam built in. Less devices to plug in or purchase. In theory, this monitor is less expensive than a docking station, webcam, mic/speaker kit. It just makes sense.

Is the headphone jack for the soundbar only supporting Headphones?I had to disable the mic from the webcam/microphone on the Monitor to stop the echo to allow the headset plugged into the headphone jack to stop Echoing.

I really wanted to like this monitor. First off, the picture quality is EXCELLENT. It was an absolute joy to look at, as are most Dell displays. However, the additional functionality beyond that screen is where things started to go downhill.First off, I ended up returning the monitor primarily because the speakers were...awful. Not only was sound quality tinny, but the volume control buttons were extremely touchy. It was extremely easy to go from inaudible to blasting with a single touch. After about an hour of use, the monitor speakers also developed a background buzz. When the monitor went to sleep, the buzz turned into a chattery, scratchy, static-like noise that could only be stopped by unplugging and re-plugging in the power. This would resolve both the buzz and the chatter, but the buzz gradually came back over a period of time and the chatter was a feature of almost every time the monitor slept.I tried to resolve the problem by testing in 2 different rooms, changing from USB-C to HDMI input, and with two different laptops (Microsoft Surface Pro 6 and a new MacBook Pro) to rule out interference or weird computer-specific issues. I also updated the firmware and the DDMP software first thing out of the box - so I know those were not an issue. Finally, you should know that even if the audio is a quality control issue unique to this monitor, there is one aspect of it that may be a dealbreaker to some - and certainly was a disappointment to me. There are absolutely zero adjustments that you can make to the integrated webcam and mic. As a heavy Teams and Zoom user, not being able to adjust my exposure, focus or field of view gave me zero advantage over buying a more inexpensive monitor and attaching my own webcam that includes software to make those adjustments. So as a 'video conferencing monitor' that is 'teams certified' there's not a lot here that gives a value add over getting a cheaper monitor and attaching your own webcam and speakers. Which is exactly what I plan to do. Maybe from Dell, maybe not.

Great Monitor with Amazing Dell Support
17 March 2022

I really enjoyed this monitor and being able to have integrated web cam, speakers and microphone. The web cam doesn't transmit the best quality video but it's good enough for Teams conferences which what I need. The first monitor I had the speakers started to crackle after a few months of use but Dell support was great and I was able to send back my monitor and get a replacement at no cost. The monitor is definitely on the pricey side but the quality of support is really what sells it. I wouldn't hesitate to get this monitor especially since it is on warranty for the first 2-3 years. The only minor feature I dislike is that the microphone stays muted unless I pop open the webcam. I would prefer to have my webcam closed at all times and still be able to use the mic ... MoreI really enjoyed this monitor and being able to have integrated web cam, speakers and microphone. Great Useful Monitor But USB-C Only For Camera...
30 April 2022

I purchased this monitor to really take advantage of working from home. I wanted a setup I can use for both work laptop and personal browsing on my home laptop. The monitor has shown no issues and has integrated perfectly with my Dell Docking Station (D3100) through DisplayPort output. The only issue I have is that the whole purpose of this monitor is to take advantage of the built in Camera & Mic with speakers integrated with Microsoft Teams for full control. And in order to do this, it is only controlled through USB-C connection to the laptop/device. You cannot utilize the camera/mic features unless it is streamed in this manner. So DisplayPort, HDMI, USB-A and B outputs are really pointless and you might as well buy a cheaper monitor without the camera functions ... MoreI purchased this monitor to really take advantage of working from home. This is disappointing because although my personal laptop & work laptop have usb-c connection, my girlfriend's Dell laptop does not have that connection and cannot take advantage of the camera features. Other than this issue, I believe the monitor does as intended to do. The meetings have been clear with no issue and speakers are loud enough to hear everyone & be heard by everyone without a pesky headset needed.

Great Value, user-friendly, no need for a dock
20 October 2022

This is a great monitor for its intended purpose for someone who does a lot of video calls. Sound and web camera quality are both above-average build features. I found it to be very easy and user-friendly to set up and configure with my computer, additionally removes the necessity for a docking station which I'd much prefer using this given that all of the docking station ports are on the monitor anyhow. The only fault really is the trouble with using just the mic for calls as I don't like having the camera up unless I'm on video calls. Would definitely recommend

Quality display with pros and cons
24 May 2023

I can't say anything bad about the actual display panel itself. It seems good to me without being able to take an empirical measurements. However, the hub is a mixed bag. In the two weeks I've had it I've had to reboot the Dell latitude 5531 connected to it and the display itself. I have upgraded all drivers on the laptop and it still has issues with microphone/speaker cutout as well as Thunderbolt video and USB hub drop out as well. I will be trying the firmware upgrade but it only reports correcting a microphone issue.

Reasonable monitor with some shortfalls
20 May 2022

Reasonable monitor if using it standalone. If you want to use DP MST it has maximum 1080p output which is not obvious in documentation until you dig deep. Some issues with switching inputs when MST is enabled. Needs some more options around the KVM function to switch only attached devices or all devices (eg I don't need to switch the network adapter to a second machine that already has one). Camera should just come up as shuttered rather than power off when closed to avoid issues with apps defaulting to internal cameras (official line is to disable internal cameras but that is really not practical when that camera is used when not docked to this monitor).Support experience was horrible, I was told repeatedly that I can not use this monitor with multiple devices ... MoreReasonable monitor if using it standalone. I had to literally point Dell support to read the Dell Product manual to show that what I was doing is actually a feature of the device and not something weird. Luckily managed to resolve the issue myself as support is yet to actually provide help on this. So yeah if you buy it and it goes a bit wrong, you will probably be on your own as support don't actually know what this monitor is or does and assume it is just a standard monitor.

This monitor fails in almost every way
7 December 2022

I had very high expectations for this monitor. Single cable USB C connectivity for work PC, can easily switch to home PC and has speakers and teams buttons. Dell managed to fail on pretty much all of these. It's truly amazing how they got it so wrong. I noticed most of these issues within the first hour of using it. Did no one at Dell even test it once??- the speakers are not great so you'll want to use headphones- once you use headphones all the teams buttons stop working, so the sound bar is completely pointless- when you switch between PCs the network switches to the other PC, so you need to use Wifi on the laptop or plug in an ether cable to the laptop- all USB switch to the other PC so the only USB devices you can plug into the monitor is the KB and mouse. ... MoreI had very high expectations for this monitor. This makes all other USB ports are largely pointless. Eg, plug in the headphone dongle and your teams meeting will drop out if you switch. Plug in a flash drive and the copy will drop out if you switch- there is a hot key to switch between PCs but this only works if the PC is awake and logged in. Quite often I switch to my home PC to sleep it but then I can't switch back. Or if I am on my home PC and it has gone to sleep I need to wake it up and login just to switch to the other PC. Why there isn't a dedicated button on the FRONT of the monitor to switch is a mystery to me- in the above mentioned cases you need to use the joystick on the back to switch inputs. This can't be accessed without moving the keyboard out of the way, it's uncomfortable to use, is difficult to use, easy to press the wrong thing and requires multiple steps- if you do use the soundbar for anything but teams there is a bug where using the volume buttons causes the sound to go off. As soon as you touch the volume in either direction sound just stops- the volume buttons change the volume on the monitor but not the PC. So you end up with 3 layers of volume controls (teams, windows, monitor) which is just painful- when switching back to USB C over 50% of the time you need to unplug the USB C and plug it back in. This is with a brand new Dell laptop. Ironically it works better between my 8 year old PC than my brand new Dell laptop- If you do want to use the soundbar then you have to switch the "playback device" in windows to the monitor several times to get sound to come out the monitor. It seems to work at random. The end result is we have a monitor where the sound bar is largely pointless, the buttons on the front and largely useless and the KVM features work but are painful. Again, it's hard to comprehend how dell got this so wrong. It might be OK for someone with a single laptop who doesn't mind low quality sound.
