Almost a great monitor, cheap speakers ruins the experience.

With that said its downfall is no daisy chain capabilities (not a huge deal), but for the price point the speakers are not very good. To have the monitor speaker to sound that bad is a waste of everyone's money, at that point just a gimmick. The frustration is you know Dell can do better but dropped the ball with the speakers on this monitor. The purpose of this monitor is to be a video conferencing monitor, so focus on making it a good experience and by going cheap on speakers on a premium monitor was a horrible idea.

I hooked one up via USB-C and the other uses USB and HDMI. Built in speaker phone sounds excellent, and the speakers are incredibly clear when listening to voices. Two minor con's are the mic is integrated with the camera, so you have to remember to pop up the camera even for voice only calls, and I wish it had a little more curve to it. It's not bad and certainly helpful, but a little more curve would have been nice. Overall, awesome monitor, so glad I got it and don't know how I'd live without it at this point.

For whatever reason, the single curved screen is so much easier on the eyes than fighting with two wonky-angled flat-screen monitors that chew up much more desktop real estate than does the Dell. Besides, it looks cool too. Nice job Dell!

Disappointed

The conferencing capabilities are what set this monitor apart from cheaper alternatives with the same panel so that is my basis for assessing it. The camera is not great. The image quality is poor and it is very wide angle. In a poorly lit home office it just looks bad. I put my brio back on top of the monitor; the built in camera just wasnt good enough. The audio is average at best. Sound output is no better than laptop built in speakers; the mic is OK. I use Teams all day every day so was keen on the built-in Teams controls, but they dont work unless your M365 tenant is in "Teams Only Mode" which ours is not. There's no way for an average user to tell this and if the tenant is not in TOM it isnt going to get changed just to support this monitor - it's a setting ... MoreThe conferencing capabilities are what set this monitor apart from cheaper alternatives with the same panel so that is my basis for assessing it. There's no way for an average user to tell this and if the tenant is not in TOM it isnt going to get changed just to support this monitor - it's a setting that affects all users and is likely set how it is for a reason. So the only benefit I got from this monitor was the fact that it is a single cable connection and all your peripherals connect to the monitor - network, USB, etc. But even that wasnt flawless. My wireless keyboard and mouse didnt like being connected via the monitor - I had to put the dongle directly into my laptop. My Surface laptop also would not wake from sleep while connected to the monitor - I had to disconnect it first. The panel quality is fine, but there are plenty of alternatives that are just as good. the built in extras on this monitor arent good enough to be worth the convenience of getting them all bundled together. Nice concept, poor execution.

Fantastic display with great office features

I started out skeptical that a single monitor could replace my multi-monitor setup. I've run no less than two monitors since the early 2000s. But this display made me change my habits. The 1440p resolution is great, and the width isn't QUITE the same as side-by-side 1080p panels, but close enough that I can comfortably arrange my windows next to each other without anything feeling too cramped - my biggest initial concern. The Dell Display Manager is a big factor in that, with custom snap-to layouts. I was also surprised to discover the built-in KVM for two systems, allowing me to connect two PCs (or Macs) to share not only my monitor, but keyboard and mouse! Auto KVM works great too. I was also surprised to discover the built-in KVM for two systems, allowing me to connect two PCs (or Macs) to share not only my monitor, but keyboard and mouse! Auto KVM works great too. In IT support, I'm often working on other machines, alongside my own, so being able to plug in a cable and switch back and forth is a HUGE time saver for me. Just make sure you connect your keyboard and mouse dongles to the USB ports on the monitor. (This may be a little trickier if you're using Bluetooth instead of USB connections ... haven't tried it.) The built-in webcam works very well, and the microphones are quite clear in meetings. Audio from the soundbar is sufficient for office use, but you won't use it to host a rockin' party. If you're looking for big sound and deep bass, get an external speaker system with a sub-woofer. For meetings and background music at your desk, it works very well. Having the Teams buttons on the soundbar is very handy too, especially for muting/unmuting your mic quickly. The extra USB-A/USB-C/3.5mm ports on the bottom of the monitor are useful, but the placement DOES make them a little difficult to locate. Some kind of indication printed on the front of the monitor would help with that. I stuck a couple of little Post-It Flags on the back of the screen (with A and C written on them) behind the ports so I can find them without feeling around or trying to stick my head under the monitor to look. It would have been really nice if they dropped down the same way the webcam pops up, for ease of use. Depending how far back on your desk the monitor sits, and how long your arms are, the control joystick on the back of the monitor can be a little hard to reach for adjustments. When I reach around the side, my fingers naturally fall on the power button, but I have to really stretch my hand around to use the joystick control. Because of the width of the monitor, your arm is already stretched out to reach around, so the placement towards the center vs the edge (IE: where the power button is) is less than optimal. But for the amount of times you'll really need to use it, it's very minor. Currently, I'm very much considering making this the standard monitor for all new installations vs dual monitors with external webcams/speakers/etc. It REALLY cleans up the desktop and cable management is far superior than stringing display cables and power cables and USB cables all over the place.

Fantastic monitor ...except for the speakerbar.

The display itself is fantastic. The size is good for both a primary workstation display, or a conference display for a smaller room. It would be best at the end of a table, and not necessarily over on a wall. The camera/mic are of great quality and pop up from the top. It actually took me a while to find it at first. If you only want voice and no camera, you have to turn off the camera in the software, because physically hiding the camera disables the mic. If you forget to pop it up, your meeting software cannot see the hardware at all. It has dedicated Teams buttons on the front, which work really well, and are very convenient, although they are on the far left, and I would prefer them to be more centered. Besides not being good for music, it makes voices sound very mechanical and unpleasant. I have a Dell AC511 soundbar from my previous monitor, and I actually put it underneath this monitor because the sound is so much better.

Good monitor but know what you pay for

The monitor is pretty good for multi-column layout thanks to the ultra-wide setup. But it doesn't provide enough vertical space for my usage which mostly based on web browser. I have to zoom all websites to 80% to gain extra sight. This has a drawback of distortion since the pixels can't scale perfectly. I imagine a monitor with more y-axis pixels won't have such problem. Color profile isn't good especially when you are using Mac as the working machine. I have to tune the color profile, yet it couldn't give a close enough outcome. May be the top tier Dell monitors don't have this problem, but I haven't tried. Compatibility with Mac is basically nothing. For sure the monitor supports the video signal, but the sound doesn't go through and will stay on your Mac. But I can live with this.

Gorgeous Display Packed with Premium Features

This is a PREMIUM peripheral. The screen itself is gorgeous and doesn't actually feel like its taking up that much real estate despite the size. Ergonomically I can feel the difference in my neck between using this as opposed to my old dual-monitor setup. I still have all of the real estate, but I don't have to move my head back and forth as much when utilizing to windows at once. The curve is subtle and doesn't inhibit my use in any way. I had previously tried a curved Samsung monitor and did not the intensity of the curve. Not the case with this one. The camera resolution is better than most and doesn't wash out easily when my office gets a lot of sunlight. The microphone does a good job of reducing echo and clearly capturing sound, however it has a very metallic sound to it that just isn't pleasing to my ears. That said, I'm a bit of an audiophile and I doubt the average consumer will even notice this small quirk. The USB-c connectivity means this monitor can be used in a shared workspace seamlessly. I love how it charges my laptop while simultaneously adding additional ports. Its also nice to not have to get my charger out of my backpack every single day and worry about forgetting it at the office. I can see how this monitor would be ideal for an executive, accountant, data analyst, project manager, dispatcher, or educator.

Great option for Remote workers spending time on video conference calls
27 June 2022

As someone who spends a large portion of their time on teams calls at home, this monitor is a breath of fresh air. You don't have to have a ton of peripherals or extra desk space in order to level up your video call experience. While the monitor is best for teams given the hardware buttons for volume, mute, etc.it does great on zoom call as well. The I/O is the unsung hero of this monitor. The ultrawide resolution can be challenging for others to see while on the call depending on their display. You can of course work around this by sharing a specific window and resizing that window to a more traditional aspect ratio, but this might not be ideal for every situation.

Nice ultra wide monitor.
25 February 2023

I bought this model to attach to my laptop and replace a 43 inch screen. It works well for having only one monitor and being able to work and have a couple screens open at once. I do like the split screen feature. It's also nice having the USB-C plug in to connect and power my laptop. The only reason I chose this one over the Dell S3422DWG was the USB C and the speakers. Part of me wishes I had purchased the Dell S3422DWG instead for the brighter screen and extra specs. The speakers are okay, but I have connected a sound bar now as they aren't the best doing zoom meetings or listening to presentations. I haven't figured out how to adjust the text and some boxes to make things bigger and legible yet. The monitor does do a better job scaling Firefox, outlook, Gmail and other applications compared to the 43 inch Samsung M7. I am not sure the USB C port is worth the extra $200 over the S3422DW or S3422DWG. I would say buy whatever is on sale.
