It has been two weeks of purchase of the Dell Vostro 3420 (16gb RAM, 256GB SSD, intel core i5 processor) and I am happy with the product performance thus far. It is light-weight, easy to carry and has a long battery life. It gives 5-6 hours battery backup easily after full charge. Since I mostly use it for academic purposes (software like Ms Word, Excel, Corel and Adobe pdf reader) and the usual net surfing,, the battery does not get used up as much. But I did face a minor software glitch about a week after the purchase, the laptop was in sleep mode overnight with multiple applications opened and in the morning the software interface was not working correctly, some of the options like mail attachments, access to hard drive on the laptop was not happening.. upon shut ... I bought this laptop for my business use. My usage on daily basis is: internet browsing, email, and preparing documents via Microsoft office. Very simple. Also i have Dell dock and two dell monitors so needed a laptop compatible. It is compatible. So far, 2 months in, laptop is great and does everything i need with good speed. I was looking for laptop that can do multiple tasks without lag. I dont see any lag. Laptop is simple and efficient.

Outstanding purchase experience. All aspects of my puchase went flawlessly. I'd done my online research previously and found this system exceeded all of my component standards. Two additional reasons I chose this particular build was that it came with Windows 10 Pro and will receive the Windows 11 Pro version when I'm ready to make that leap. Secondly, having been a computer tech for a small New Mexico school district, I was pleased with the quality and maintainability of the Dell laltop and desktop computers we brought in for the staff and students. Ive owned 2-3 Dell Latitude systems previously and have been very pleased with them!

This is a great laptop! I have been using it for a couple of months so far. I wanted a business laptop this time around for my personal use as I haven’t had great experiences with personal laptops in the past (not Dell, other brands) so I paid a bit extra and got this one on sale. It was everything I’d hoped it would be! Just wish there was better contrast on the keyboard as I can barely see the letters due to the grey background. But other than that this laptop is perfect, nice weight/ not too heavy and has a fast processor. (Also I would have ordered the backlighting on the keys but when I tried to do that the base price changed to a higher one - not the sale price - so that would have been too expensive for me, and I decided not to do that. I was in need of a replacement laptop , and because of software requirements I needed access to Windows 10 (required for an Upgrade for a sewing machine) and Windows 11 was also needed to ensure the continued working of an embroidery/design application. An online conversation with an agent helped enormously to identify a suitable laptop which met my needs very well. The online conversation was extremely helpful as I am very deaf, and find phone calls almost impossible, so thankyou Dell for making this method of communication available. The 14” laptop is ideal for my everyday purposes, alongside the particular needs I have currently. I particularly like the settings for the display which allow me to reduce blue light considerably, thus protecting my eyesight. I have ... First of all, the box was significantly damaged, but it appears the laptop survived. Most of my disappointment is reserved for Windows 11, but I expected nothing less from Microsoft after going through the Windows 7, Windows 10 experience. Networking still sucks. The OS is more than ready to tell you that a connection cannot be made, but has no explanation about how to resolve it. I had to spend a couple of hours searching online to fix my problem. AND I HATE THE ABBREVIATED CONTEXT MENU. WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO CLICK TWICE???? As far as the Vostro 3420, I'm disappointed about the little things like no buttons on touchpad and no indicator lights for disk activity and power. Most of these complaints are personal preferences and feedback from the clients we've deployed these laptops to. The touchpad is way to slick, almost frictionless. And the featureless blank pad rather than dedicated left and right click buttons take some getting used to. I received a lot of complaints back about the camera quality. I don't see a lot of issues but many client report it looks grainy in Teams meetings. Dell has had one standard barrel connector forever for docks and laptops making many power supplies interchangeable. For some reason they decided to change to a smaller barrel connector. they keyboard is almost completely flat and close together with very little travel. Screen quality on the Full HD 1920x1080 is good, however do NOT get the 3420 with the ... Screen quality on the Full HD 1920x1080 is good, however do NOT get the 3420 with the 1366x768 screen. The quality is worst I've seen on a laptop in many years. Color is not true to your monitor. It's blue tinted and washed out, and varies in color temperature from laptop to laptop. I thought the first one I pulled out of the box was defective until I saw the entire shipment was that way.
I've been having trouble with it over heating when plugged in to charge over night. Then it will not turn on until it has cooled down. Hour or Two. So I unplugged it when not in use at night. I try to leave it with a full charge but in the morning the battery is completely drained. We bought 20 or so of these models for our business and they all have the same problem. We have reached out to Dell but no response. They are an essential part of our business and to say the least we are very disappointed. As soon as finances permit we will be replacing them.
The Vostro 3420 is a dependable and competent laptop with adequate performance for everyday work. It is portable and easy for on-the-go use due to its elegant design and tiny form factor. The presence of numerous USB connections and an HDMI connector enables simple connection to accessories and external monitors. The build quality of the Vostro 3420 is adequate in terms of durability, with a solid chassis that can survive continuous use. On the other hand, the battery life is mediocre, necessitating regular recharging for extended usage. Furthermore, the laptop's storage capacity may be limited for users with large multimedia files or extensive data storage requirements. The Vostro 3420 is a dependable and economical alternative for consumers looking for a portable laptop for everyday work. Still, it may not be the most excellent choice for those with high-performance or significant storage demands.
I love Dell‘s 14 inch series of latitude computers. They’re well built get the job done and if you have any technical support issues you can get a hold of people locally within the United States. This little unit is fairly powerful and does exactly what I needed to do. This was a wonderful little unit For a couple of heavy duty projects that I had to do and has done extremely well. This unit was affordable. This unit was very easy on the eyes and this unit continues to be a workhorse for me.
