Our University has just started looking into 4K monitors to provide as an option for employees, especially those in Marketing and Digital Media Arts. Something that could knock the P2719H and the P2722H out of the water and not break the bank. The P2723QE is such a lovely upgrade, comparing it to the older models. I'm so glad I got to test one of these for a few weeks.I spend numerous hours in front of the screen and the eye fatigue I was experiencing prior to the swap has been dramatically reduced. It's made my office work more enjoyable. I'm able to move the monitor closer, if needed, and I'm not experiencing any additional stress--very tough for me to see any graininess with essentially double the pixel density of the P2722H.My current setup is a MacBook Pro ... The matte finish if great for harsh overhead and natural lighting--preferred over the MacBook Pro's glossy finish, honestly. The RJ45 connection works well--not something I'll really use, but it's nice that it turns this monitor into a simple docking station in case the one I'm currently using dies on me.

This is expensive but useful upgrade for my laptop station. Resolution on my older 24" was not that great with FHD. Plus I was contemplating on getting a dock for my ThinkPad. This has many things: not a large but not small monitor, usbc, dock with power passthrough and not high but not low resolution. Everything worked as expected. My keyboard, mouse, watch (for charging) and cam are now connected to monitor instead of laptop. While laptop connects to monitor via single usbc wire, which not only powers it but also projects its display and pass peripheral connections. What more? It can easily extend with other monitors via outgoing displayport without needing any direct connection with laptop.Although it works out of box with Ubuntu, Dell does not ship Display ... This is a useful software when working with large monitors, helps in dividing n organising windows, plus settings are controlled via UI. If Dell can sell laptops with Ubuntu, wondering what push does it's monitor team need to port Display manager to Ubuntu.

I thought I was going to be able to replace my D6000 docking station with this monitor/hub combo, but it did not work out. Turns out you can't (as far as I can tell) hook up three 4k monitors with the P2723QE hub like you can with the D6000.Also, I got conflicting information form the Dell support folks about using the Dell WD19 flavors of new docking stations. I have a Dell Precision 7730 mobile workstation, which the online data sheet says will NOT work with this new docking station, but the dell support folks indicated that it would.Long story short, I returned the monitor/hub combo and will wait to let the dust settle to see what my next step are... The monitor itself seems to be a great value, but not with a non-functional (in my case) hub.

I have a simple setup, just desktop + monitor so no networking concerns for working. I had been using 24" monitor which was too small for fitting in 2 full app windows even with 8pt fonts (where available). Chose this 27" monitor for the high res as I mostly use for text based apps. Unfortunately failed to realise how char size would shrink on a monitor this size. It fits in 2 full windows nicely and has excellent res but have to fiddle with scaling to see which mucks up the 2 full apps windows goal. I would have been better getting a 2nd 24" or smaller. It's an excellent monitor if you want high res for other reasons. Only small issue is that the 4 USB 3 ports only work when you connect the monitor and PC USB C ports. I and my family all agree that the colors are excellent and the text is sharp when viewing in its recommended view. There are a few viewing modes for the monitor, i.e. movie, games, a few others. The only issue I have is the 2 USB ports in the back of the monitor. I can only use them for a flash drive. The Wi-Fi antenna for the mouse / keyboard is too wide, that the flash drive will not fit into the USB port. 1 was able to open 2 Excel sheets and have them arranged next to one another. It is nice that the stand allows the monitor to go up & down, and I can move the monitor that it should be vertical and not horizontal view. It has 3 display ports. USB C, DP (Display Port), and HDMI.
The image is very crisp and the flexibility is outstanding. It really helps to eliminate one more device sitting on a small desk removing clutter. My only concern was the ethernet driver out of the gate would not work. I had to go to the website and download a driver I found. When I tried to execute the driver I thought it was stuck as it ran for nearly 20 mins trying to load. Eventually, it is all working great and no additional problems with any device attached to the monitor. I absolutely love that this is a 3 year warranty given that it is a hub and I have seen interfaces fail a lot on other brand monitors. That along with the quality of Dell monitors is why I chose this monitor.
Overall, the monitor is a decent choice for a moderately priced 4K monitor. The primary feature is the built in USB-C (input) hub that enables four downstream USB-A ports and an ethernet port but lacks another USB-C port. It allows for users to connect their laptops directly into the monitor using a USB-C cable which not only allows it to act as a USB hub but also as a 90-Watt charger for the laptop. The display functions via the USB-C cable to give your laptop an extra monitor which may be important for some businesses looking for a second display for their laptops but don't want to spend the money on a docking station. The monitor works well in a business environment that can provide additional functionality to the user without having to purchase other devices. I would not recommend the monitor for gaming due to its low refresh rate (60Hz) or for watching movies in HDR.
I've used this with my iPad and with my Laptop...Keeps them charged while allowing a 2nd monitor and connection of other peripherals like mouse, keyboard and USB Storage. Does have an RJ-45 Jack as well, but I'm wireless most everywhere but as a desktop replacement it might be great for work.Great brightness and resolution... makes my laptop display look really bad.Pro:- USB-C HUB built- Power Delivery up to 90W- Large and great looking display- Versatile selection of port options - bottom and backCon:- No built in speakers- Not touch sensitive- Only one USB-C port - with the move to USB-C some peripherals are going that direction as well, but plenty of USB-A to C cables
I received the Dell P2723QE about 2 weeks ago, and am really enjoying it. I am a Design Director for a design agency in the Seattle area, and spend the entire day looking at graphics, images and web-based communication. I am really impressed by the clarity and colors on this monitor: small text is crisp and easy to read. The white balance is bright, but not overly so. Colors are vibrant, but accurate. I have used Dell ultra Sharp monitors in the past, as well as higher end monitors for photo editing - I think this monitor competes well with the best I have used. I would recommend this very highly.
