2 Stars Right Out of the Box, 4 Stars After Calibration

If you do NOT own, or plan to buy something like the i1Display (any version), then this monitor is NOT for you. Dell claims you get precise colors right out of the box. This is patently FALSE. Let's use an example you can easily check right on the B&H website. Look at the area just below the price of any item where it says Add to Cart & Add to Wishlist. The background of this area is #F3F3F3, which visually should appear light grey because it has equal amounts of Red, Green & Blue. However, out of the box, this monitor displays this area as a pastel yellow / beige color. Similar deviations can be visually noted on many default Windows 10 menu elements that should be various shades of grey. Similar deviations can be visually noted on many default Windows 10 menu elements that should be various shades of grey. Overall, out of the box, photos and videos are not obviously terrible, however if one group of colors is visibly off, then we know that the image is not in fact being displayed correctly. On a positive note, backlight / color uniformity is good, with no obvious splotches, lines or streaks... especially important in the always troublesome uniform dark greys that most photo / video editing programs use as backgrounds.Once calibrated (in this case with an i1Display Pro), the display looks great. This is just an sRGB gamut monitor, so this may or may not be enough for your particular application, but at least the colors it can display match well after calibration. Text is crisp, and does not suffer from color fringing. The design aesthetic of the monitor is very elegant, and it's looks match well with any of the recent bezel-less Dell monitors. This monitor is capable of the awesome auto adjustment feature of the i1Display's i1Profiler software, but make sure you keep your hand on the P3222Qe's joystick (the method used for navigating & selecting OSD items on this monitor), and be ready to quickly push up, then press inwards to confirm that yes you do want to allow high power usage settings (aggravatingly, the default is no). If you fail to do this, the calibration will be unusable & you will have to repeat the process. Using the i1Display's auto adjustment mode, I was able to get two different Dell displays to basically look identical when dragging photos and videos between the two displays. Very impressive, although this is more due to the excellent abilities of the i1Display than anything Dell did.In conclusion, I give this monitor an aggregate 3 star rating. The out of box color experience on this monitor is horrible, and Dell should be ashamed of foisting this kind of dumpster fire on their customers while simultaneously declaring on their website that you get precise colors right out of the box. Calibrate it, and it's a great 31.5 sRGB monitor, and a great deal when on sale.

A Design Masterpiece, perfectly positioned in the market.

A fantastically sharp monitor that is a great update from the 2560x1600 30 inch Dell Ultrasharps.

A thoroughly modern monitor that is every bit an upgrade if you are coming from an older generation Ultrasharp. Dell currently has a hole in their lineup as the Ultrasharp 30+ inch lineup has gone to miniLED with extremely high prices and this P series comes in at a price class below. However, do not let the price fool you as this is worthy of being called a premium monitor with good consistency, sharp resolution, and nice viewing angles from IPS technology. It is a meaningful step up from the S series curved monitors. This is a good price to technology balance that should last multiple years until miniLED and HDR become price competitive in the mainstream context.

The display is beautiful and the stand is fantastic, great value! The 3840 x 2160 is a must and makes it comfortable to read small font clearly when dealing with overviews. pixelation and blurring is never an issue. Image is crystal clear for reading, gaming, movies etc. However, I must say even with seemingly identical specs, the resolution is slightly inferior to some of the more expensive screens on the market. For instance, when comparing the displays side by side (*looking at thumbnails of a textbook pdf) I noticed that some high end screens are able to resolve smaller text. On these, you can more clearly read the smallest of text in the thumbnails of the PDF viewer. For those who aggressively multi-task, using multiple windows simultaneously on a regular ... MoreThe display is beautiful and the stand is fantastic, great value! The 3840 x 2160 is a must and makes it comfortable to read small font clearly when dealing with overviews. pixelation and blurring is never an issue. Excellent Monitor for the Price
16 July 2024

I have a Dell XPS laptop and the monitor setup seamlessly - pretty much plug and play. Connecting the monitor to the stand was a breeze. The picture is amazing. Two little things I noticed (but are not deal breakers for me):1) - I noticed others have mentioned is the Joystick Control on the back of the monitor for OSD settings (Brightness/color etc.). At first I found the joystick frustrating to use until I discovered that you push against the edges of the joystick button - not on the joystick itself to make selections. Once I discovered that using it was a breeze.2) - I have JBL Studio monitors connected to my laptop. With my previous 27 HP monitor there were no hum/ground issues. The Dell monitor must put out more electrical interference. I had to upgrade my ... MoreI have a Dell XPS laptop and the monitor setup seamlessly - pretty much plug and play. Flickering of the screen (tried 2 monitors)
10 January 2022

Only providing the review in hopes that this will help someone. Was very excited for this monitor and had got a good deal on it for black Friday weekend. The order arrived (December 27th) earlier than the promised date (January 3rd). The package was slightly damaged (shipped via FedEx) but nothing major. On setting up the monitor and connecting it to my desktop found that there was slight flickering of the screen in certain parts of the screen. Connected to my MacBook Pro (2021) instead and the same issue persisted. Contacted the customer care and they directed how to run the diagnostics and found that the Gray color on diagnostics was flickering while all the remaining colors were solid. Contacted the customer care and they directed how to run the diagnostics and found that the Gray color on diagnostics was flickering while all the remaining colors were solid. I sent them the email with the pictures of the package( damage) and images with the flickering issue. They told they would send a replacement the following day and this time with UPS and to ship the original monitor back once I receive the replacement.Received the new monitor on January 3rd, found the same issue (package was intact). Noticed that the flickering is more on switching to the 'Night mode/reading mode' and on running the diagnostics the gray color still had the flickering (even when it was not connected to a desktop or MacBook). Sometimes when the page is static, the flickering diminishes but on scrolling down the page, it returns. There were also some residual after images of the wallpaper on opening a new window at the center of the screen sometimes. On contacting the support team, they told the only thing they could do was send another replacement as the diagnostics showed the gray color (which was supposed to be solid) was still flickering. Both the monitors I received had issues. I ended up returning both as I did not want to go through the hassle of another replacement if the issue persisted. Not sure if it is an issue with this particular model as there are other reviews suggesting similar experience but definitely expected better experience with Dell. Waiting on refund currently.

Its hard to make a mistake when you choose a Dell Monitor
5 December 2021

A monitor is the kind of purchase you only think about twice if you're lucky. The first is when you have to decide what you want and the next time is if something goes wrong. Well choosing a Dell monitor is a no brainer - great quality, great price and great service. Its too early to think about something going wrong but these monitors come with what I believe is the best warrantee in the industry. I got a 32" screen and it reminds me that not that long ago this would have been the stuff of science fiction. Big, bright and truly color accurate. Five stars from me

Nice monitor with usb hub
6 October 2024

I used to have a usb hub, the laptop charger and a monitor. The new monitor with a single usb-c cable both charges my mac and allows for the monitor connection. The usb hub is there in case i need to connect a usb key or something extra. If it also had a camera and mike built in it would be amazing (i got the camera separately).I'm very happy with it.

Not the best for the price
21 August 2021

I have had this monitor for quite some time now. At the start I really liked it, the build quality is very good and its a good stable monitor. But for the price I can say that they could have added a 3.5mm headphone jack at the back to, I use this with PS5 and I cant connect speakers with the monitor. Also there is one major issue with the monitor the screen burns quite a lot and that means if I have a still image on high brightness the image would stay there for some minutes even after I have changed the image. This is a major issue. I only found it after the return period otherwise I would have returned this.

Some issues
14 October 2021

I had a Dell 4k 27" P series monitor that was excellent and wanted to upgrade to a larger size. Feature wise and price wise, this 32" 4k P series monitor is great (all its ports and ability to be a hub), but there is one issue which has been annoying me. From day one, in black or very dark areas of the image, i would see random series of white flashing pixels come and go. I replaced the included cable with a different thunderbird one and it didn't change much. Over time (about a month or two) it has somehow gotten better on its own but its still there. My eyes have just gotten better at ignoring the problem. Its not worth the hassle of shipping it back and getting a replacement but I am disappointed. Ive never had such problems with the many Dell monitors I've had ... MoreI had a Dell 4k 27" P series monitor that was excellent and wanted to upgrade to a larger size.
