A half decent middle of the road monitor

Firstly, lets start with the physical features. The monitor is very light at 16 lbs, and has very little bezels at the top, left and right of the monitor which is pretty nice, however its just wide enough to not be invisible. Also, 27 inches of monitor up close is quite wide, viewing at a distance of less than 2 feet might make these monitors feel gargantuan in comparison, especially at a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080. If these monitors happened to be 1440p or 4k, the size wouldn't be that big of a deal. Which brings me to the technical part of the monitor. Each monitor has two HDMI ports, which is great, it permits you to run two streams on it, so, work PC, and gaming PC on the other port. I purchased two of these monitors and mounted it on a dual monitor VESA stand. I received them quite quickly, actually about two weeks after the initial order. When they arrived, setup was quite quick and easy. It took me no longer than 15 minutes per monitor, and they were very light, so not much of a problem to mount. Past that point I started using them for work, and unfortunately this is where I hit my first snag. One of the monitors had stuck pixels and image ghosting. After running the LED conditioning the issue resolved itself temporarily. This is when I contacted support. They didn't fight me over the stuck pixels, which was amazing, and sent me a replacement monitor, but only for 1 of them. Thankfully the other monitor resolved itself, but the one that was still having the stuck pixel issue needed to be replaced. After receiving the replacement two weeks later I mounted it up and ran the LED conditioning for about 10 minutes, everything worked out fine. Just make sure that you set the pixel response to something other than Normal, and have the refresh rate above 60 hz, and you should not experience issues. I won't suggest purchasing these monitors unless you need large monitors, like if you were a receptionist, or have to mount the monitor further than a foot away from your viewing location. With the failure I received, I am concerned that this product is a panel overstock product for not quite passing high value panels.

Fantastic for coding and office work.

I bought these to replace two 24" FHD monitors that were roughly 7-8 years old. I am not a gamer but am in front of 3-4 monitors all day, five days a week at my desk.I needed something with a few requirements:(1) More on-screen real-estate(2) No compromise with pixel density. Preferable a greater pixel density then with 24" FHD.(3) Multiple inputs that can be easily selected to switch between systems without a full KVM setup. (Depends on my needs at any given moment I will mix and match monitors between systems).(4) Compatibility with my existing VESA multiple monitor mount setup. These monitors met all my requirements and were a great deal on sale. The option to customize the first two buttons on the bottom rail to hot swap systems was unknown when I purchased but have come in very, very handy. My favorite feature, which was also unknown when I purchased... Is that I can switch inputs without my systems (both Mac and PC) being triggered into a display reconfiguration like happens with many monitors and almost all KVM setups.I have to remember that there are screens I am not able to view in any given mix and match scenerio, but this works perfectly for my business use case. I relate it to MacOS "Multiple Desktops" feature, which is not for everyone but works for me.

Great for Photoshop work. Using this via a USB-C DisplayPort alt to HDMI adapter; supports 10/12bit @ 30hz (8bit @ 60) - could be a limitation of my computer, the adapter, or the HDMI cable I'm using. Surprisingly bright; it's set to 75% by default and I wouldn't want to go beyond that for the sake of eye strain. Speakers are relatively quiet (perfect for office use, not much else).Noticeable caveat to the QS mode is that it goes a bit bobblehead (side to side tilt mostly) if your desk isn't entirely sturdy. Relatively certain this can be fixed by using a third-party VESA stand. Hasn't bothered me past the first day or two of ownership.Display stand has more of a frosted plastic look in real life than in product photos, if this matters to you.

Great monitor. Poorly printed instructions.
27 June 2023

I own 2 of these monitors and love them. I purchased this one as a gift for my FIL who is in his mid-80s. Printing the instruction/assembly diagram using light gray text and diagrams is doing a disservice to any customer over 40 years of age. He was unable to even see the graphics with his glasses on. Having put several of these together previously, I had to go and assemble his monitor for him due to the poorly printed diagrams. They are truly unreadable by anyone. Printing a black and white diagram in light gray is ludicrous. This monitor goes from 5 stars to 4 due to the poorly printed instructions. I take care of computers for several elderly neightbors and relatives, and this is a very common issue. Great replacement for 2 23" FHD monitors.
22 August 2022

I held of writing this review until I had spent some time with the monitor. The monitor is mostly used for office and programming tasks.Picture quality is great and it really does make a difference seeing photographs on the 27" QHD screen. Colours are vivid but don't look unrealistic. Sharpness of text is good with no problems with black on white or white on black text. The monitor was bought to replace two 23" FHD monitors and I was worried that the slight loss of pixels when using a QHD monitor might be an issue. After using this monitor for a while I can honestly say that I don't miss the two smaller monitors. Having everything on one monitor with the extra vertical pixels has made a massive difference and software such as MS Visual Studio looks to much less crammed on the 27" QHD screen.Physically the monitor takes less desk space than two 23" FHD monitors and makes the work space look a lot more slick, less cables also helps. A full range of tilt, swivel and height adjustments means that it is easy to get this setup in a comfortable position. The monitor has a VESA mount but I haven't had any reason to attach it due to the range of built adjustments available.Weakest point. The speakers don't have the range or power to be fully immersive but have proven to be excellent for video conference calls. If you are happy with the sound from your built in TV speakers (I'm not) then you probably will be happy with these too.I'm overall very pleased with my new monitor.

Not compatible with MacMini M2
10 May 2023

The monitor looks great, was packaged nicely, and seems to have a good build quality. However I was unable to get it to work with my MacMini M2. I tried connection both over HDMI (using the supplied cables) and Thunderbolt/USB C. Over USB the computer thought it was a 5k display, and over HDMI it didn't know what it's native resolution should be. I got it to display by manually selecting a 4k resolution, but it would only work at 30 Hz which is unacceptable. When switched to 60Hz, the monitor would display a message saying an unknown resolution was being used. So, while I don't think this is a bad display, it was not a good fit for my Macintosh environment. If you have a Mac, beware. I suspect Windows users won't have any issues and that it will be a lovely display.

The monitor uses terrible cheap plastic build materials compared to Dell monitors from a couple of years ago. Luckily Dell hasn't skimped on the screen/panel which is still GREAT!
19 June 2023

The build quality is cheap and plasticky. I have a Del monitor at home purchased a couple of years ago for similar money, and it has a nice aluminium base, it's about half as thick as the back, and the front has much smaller edges around the screen. The quality is night and day in terms of the build. The bottom edge of the screen has a cheap sliver of plastic that is warped and can be pulled away from the screen with the least amount of pressure. It's as bad as it can get, considering Dell monitors used to be good at almost any price range.Luckily, one thing hasn't decreased in quality, and that is the screen. Want 27 inch / 1440? This is the pragmatic choice

Clean lines and a pleasant contrast between the black frame of the screen and the matte silver stand mean that this is an aesthetically pleasing monitor. I'm now relieved that I did not go for a monitor that was all black (all silver was never an option, I am of an age where I still remember the bitter divide between audiophiles about whether your stereo system should be black or silver). The on / off light is just as annoying as every other monitor ever but it is comparatively small and discreet. The Dell logo doesn't catch your eye as much as others either. In time, both of these issues will be addressed with black tape and since there are no monitors out there without these issues I guess I am just ranting at this point. In time, both of these issues will be addressed with black tape and since there are no monitors out there without these issues I guess I am just ranting at this point. It's better than most, how's that. The stand has a greater range of motion than I do these days. It's angular design walks the thin line between aggresive and reassuring. Over time it will become a shelf for the mouse, I may then Bonsai dress it with a small carpet, maybe some shrine artifacts for the internet Gods. I think the design will date but by the time it does I will no longer be able to see it.I have seen other stand designs that do a better job of hiding your cabling but a couple of velcro straps will have you tidy enough when sat in front of the screen. Just avert your eyes as you walk around the room. The speakers are not why you bought this Monitor, you bought it to get 2560 / 1440 on a 27 inch screen (and then maybe had to buy a cheap GPU to get the resolution because your integrated graphics wouldn't play ball) Go buy some speakers. Don't wait until the sound this monitor produces infuriates you.Image quality for everyday work, imgur, Youtube, films...all perfectly good. The reason this is four star is not because of anything I have written above but because, whilst I appreciate that I have bought an entry level monitor at this size and resolution, the lack of a USB socket (I added LED backlighting but it could be you need to charge a phone, or have a dongle for wireless mouse etc) seems a little mean.No VGA was OK because even my old PC had an HDMI (and almost any GPU you buy will have an HDMI port) but not a single USB? You could have made this without the speakers and given me a couple of USBs, eh? So, 4 stars. However, given the difference in price between this and what I wanted (never mind what I REALLY wanted but my PC couldn't possibly run) this reduction of a star comes with the hefty caveat that I would be looking at a 24 inch monitor right now where it not for this monitors existence...and it has made a BIG difference to my day to have gone up in both size and resolution. So, 4 1/2 stars.

Dell and Micro center made it difficult for me to go with my original goal of getting a 5K display by offering this 4K display for about a 10th of the cost of the leading 5K displays. At that price, a lot of risk was removed for me. So how was the display. Certainly a 5K produced by LG or Apple would have significantly more pixels per inch and a lot more pop to it. But this display has proven to be more than adequate. With either 4K or 5K displays you have scale the picture up, otherwise at those resolutions most text would be too tiny to read. It has passed that test with flying colors. My one complaint was that its default settings turned out to be too dim for me. I had to adjust the picture settings to up the brightness quite a bit and the contrast just a tad. I use this for writing, for work, and for web browsing. I don't watch movies or play PC games using this monitor. For the demands of teleworking using this along with a 21" older full HD display as an extended display, it's been fine. The picture is not glorious or stunning, but it doesn't fail in any way, either.
