It's tough to find a better solution on market today if you have a laptop this is built for. It's the right combination of ports for a pro dock like this.I think I'm happy that it *sort of* relies on a common standard (USB C) instead of using a proprietary plug, but it's not the most consistent experience. Sometimes the laptop thinks it's on a low power charger. Sometimes the monitors don't connect quite right. If I bump the cable even slightly, it disconnects and reconnects. All these problems are fixed very easily and quickly by unplugging and plugging back in, but it just feels a bit janky. I wish the power brick was built in instead of having 2 bricks. And I wish there was some way to clip or mount it upside-down to the bottom of the desk.

This dock has issues. I have have had it for just over 2 weeks now and here are the problems I have encountered so far:- It can't drive a monitor with a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, attempting this configuration causes the monitor to be detected by windows but nothing will display on it.- If you have multiple displays when unlocking the machine one of the displays will occasionally drop to 640x480 resolution. It seems the only way to correct that is to disconnect the display from the dock and reconnect it. Note that once it did not correct the problem so I disconnected the dock from the laptop. When I reconnected it blacked out all the displays for a few seconds and then bluescreened the computer.- The dual USB-C connectors protrude a ways from the side of the ... MoreThis dock has issues. This is a minor annoyance and it only takes a minute or so to put everything back to where it was but if you spend a minute doing this every day it still adds up to a few hours per year.

If you have a USB-C powered computer that needs more than 90w, has ports that aren't either too close or far apart, you have few USB item needs, and your computer can use DisplayPort over USB-C, then this dock might be just the ticket. For machines that don't meet those criteria, I'd suggest a different Dell dock:1. Most business class machines don't currently require, and can't handle, two USB-C power connections. Giving too much power to your USB will cause Windows to turn off your USB ports until you unplug one lead and reset them.2. Machines that can use both cannot have ports that are too close or too far apart, or the leads will either not fit together, or just not reach (if the ports are on opposite corners of the device, for example). The dock neither supports DisplayLink nor acts as a basic USB hub when testing with a machine that doesn't support DisplayPort over USB-C. There doesn't appear to be an alternate connection method for either video or USB.4. The number of USB ports (A or C) is a little slim. This isn't the dock I'd recommend for a user with a mouse, keyboard, phone charger, headset, and camera.

I was looking for a docking station that provided power - as a docking station should IMO.I also want to run multiple monitors (3). This docking station was recommended as compatible to my specific computer. I receive it and.... there is power. However, please note: there are TWO power input cords. For my specific laptop, there is only ONE recepticle. SO... I am told "just dont plug the other one in." FYI.. the adapters I have tried, none provide power. Well, I am having nothing but trouble with the docking station. My monitor goes on and off, even as I type this. My camera is often not picked up and I have to re-plug in. My icons are not appearing at the bottom. Nope, not impressed. I am told this docking station is for a more powerful machine. Obtained this for use as a universal style dock with multiple vendors and OS. Works fine as a standard USB-C dock when a single connection is made.Dock is built primarily to use both USB-C connectors to a Dell system with the cables attached via the integrated magnet. Connecting both USB-C connections is awkward and sometimes resulted in errors on non-Dell systems.Other systems with different spacing may have difficulty connecting both cables simultaneously, to say nothing of if the dock or power delivery functions as normal once both are connected.Dock itself seems solidly made, plenty of cable length between the power adapter and the dock, which was nice, and a good cable length for the USB-C cables. A maximum of 240W of power delivery (using both USB-C connectors) is also a great feature, but only if the USB-C connections are utilized correctly by the target system.TL;DR: If you have a Dell system that can use the huge power delivery and dock feature set, it seems like a solid dock. If you're going to share this dock, or use primarily with other makes and models of laptop, it may not meet your expectations.
These docks are absolutely horrible. Needing constant reboots. Rarely providing the correct power, various connections not working at times without reboots. I also believe they burn out the motherboards on larger systems. I regularly am docked, and eventually my PC will just die due to lack of power, but it never warned me the dock wasn't giving enough power....Then i have to let my system charge for at least 20 minutes before it will even power back on - usually giving me time of day errors where it was drained of 100% power while docked. These are not worth the money they actually cost and are a waste of time, plastic, and shipping from China. I was able to locate a 7520 which takes an E-Dock and have downgraded my system to avoid these absolutely horrible docks. ... MoreThese docks are absolutely horrible. Needing constant reboots. Layout is good, setup was easy, connections seem plenty fast with little penalty for going through a dock. One quibble is that when connected to the dock if the power cord pops out of the dock the computer does not continue on battery as it would without the dock, solved with duct tape and baling wire by elegantly anchoring the dock's power cable to its computer connector cable-- a handy use for the anti interference module. Really I used a bit of the twisty black wire from the shipping kit, it looks fine but this is the reason for only 4 stars. (The anti interference module is in the perfect spot and if you havent saved up a few twisty black wires, what were you thinking?)All in all I am very satisfied and would recommend this dock to anyone who feels the need ... MoreLayout is good, setup was easy, connections seem plenty fast with little penalty for going through a dock. One of the most important feature for me is that it has a power switch right on the dock which make there’s no need to open the laptop and it prevents that frustrating scenario where your computer doesn’t know if you want it on or off.To be able to use my laptop in the flap down position with an external monitor and keyboard, this device is amazing! It is great to have a docking station that i do not have to unplug all the wires each time I go into the office. WD19DCS offers Dual USB Type-C Host Connectors which supports up to 210W of Power Delivery. Its thurnderbolt-4 port provide speed up to 40Gbps.
Test time frame – 2 weeks. The dock is being used with a Precision Mobile Workstation 7770. Monitors connected to the dock are models U3415W and U2715H. Peripherals that are connected are a USB-C headset, USB RGB gaming mouse, and USB mechanical switch RGB keyboard. The dock works well when plugging in and unplugging the laptop. Pros – works well with connected monitors. Cons – no audio jack and only 3 USB ports. Make sure you follow the instructions that came with the dock. The firmware on the dock needs to be updated for it to work properly with connected monitors.
I'm a devoted Dell customer (corporate and personal) as i don't have time to become acquainted with all competing vendors, their services, or their products and Dell has satisfied me in all of these areas so far. This given, the WD19DCS has largely exceeded my expectations with a few exceptions as experienced of WD19DCS's i already have (haven't yet installed the one i just purchased). That is, it renders my dual/hi-speed 2560's flawlessly, has never lost ethernet, kb, mouse, I/O, and firmware seems to remain subject to improvements (updates). The shortcomings regard: A) accurate/consistent monitor detection thru KVM. B) inconsistent power status as received by Precision notebook. However, i'm not certain either of these issues are actually dock issues. ... MoreI'm a devoted Dell customer (corporate and personal) as i don't have time to become acquainted with all competing vendors, their services, or their products and Dell has satisfied me in all of these areas so far.
