I ordered this with some confidence as the reviews were good and mentioned even browning, I am disappointed as not one piece of bread and I have tried several browns evenly. One side always browns quicker than the other and when pressing the stop button to check how brown it pops up fine but then you can't activate the button again , so I am ending up turning it off at the mains to enable pop up if it is browning too quickly. As every piece of bread is different I would like to check how it's doing more than once. This was quite an expensive toster and a good make I thought. Would not recommend.

Not reliable enough to leave it unattended as finish times vary even with the same type of bread so it is a chance if it is either hard brown crisp or so or so light tan. Had hoped better of the brand and the price asked and have been patient with it, but it will never get better. Would not buy again.

Such an aesthetically pleasing toaster and does a great job at toasting too! When reviewing options I couldn't understand why certain toasters were so much pricier than others and what made a toaster worth such a high price tag. But as I was looking for something that would simply look great with my decor and existing appliances, I based most of my search on that alone and wasn't too fussed by the toasting abilities. This toaster ticks all the boxes and as a bonus, also toasts a bagel more evenly than any toaster I've ever had.
Bought this to replace another De'Longhi toaster, the Brillante, which got water in it and fused. Purchased in a hurry due to the imminent arrival of guests and really wished I'd waited and shopped round more. The Brillante was a far superior product. The Ballerina does not toast evenly - the edges of a regular slice of bread never toasts properly at the top so yo have to rotate the slices. The browning controls are hit and miss - setting 3 will burn bread, setting 5 will incinerate it. The slots seem narrower and shallower then the Brillante but maybe I've just decided it's not a good toaster and am finding fault all round. I would not buy this again.
Top tier toaster. Not only does this toaster look amazing in my kitchen, but it works superb. Its features are so intricate. The finish looks amazing. At the price I purchased, it’s a steal!I also bought the matching Kettle. I would recommend this set to everyone. So glad I made this purchase. It looks so expensive and does an amazing job.
Bought the toaster for our new kitchen in the white with the matching kettle. We had our old De'Longhi toaster for some years and bought new to start again with all electricals. Not as good as the old one as it only has one colour toasting dial where the old one had one dial for each set of slots (could be a different model?). Excellent quality, well made and nice to look at. Pleased with it none the less.
Pros: Looks great from far but major design faults which not lead to practical usage.Cons: Should be able to see red and blue wires inside the front slots where you pull down the toaster start pulls. Based on the design, there is a gap around the top rim crumbs or small pieces of bread/toast can call into and gather.. this area is not accessed by the crumb trays so you can’t get it out. This is where you can see the blue and red wires, and worse is it’s on display lol. Rubbish and dangerous design in my opinion. We had 2 diamanté toaster kettle sets and they were made really well
Looks smart, but does not toast bread evenly. You can never do the toast in one cycle as no matter the number you choose, turn it past number 3 and it's just burnt. Between 1 - 3 and you get patches of toast in various stages. Try to put it in for a top-up and turn the slices around to try and get evenly toasted bread and check on it every 20 secs or so otherwise the next time it pops the bread is burnt and in the bin :( This and the kettle in the same design are both unfortunately going to be replaced as soon as I find new ones and not this make. The most expensive kettle and toaster we have ever bought as a treat as we liked the design and if John Lewis sells them then must be good quality. How wrong we were.
