Delonghi Primadonna Soul Automatic Coffee Machine ECAM61075MB

Bought this to replace my previous De'longhi bean to cup machine. The previous one we loved and when it developed a fault i sent it for repair. However, that can take quite a long time, with no guarantees of success. So, we decided we couldn't live without another and we are most definitely delighted with the new PrimaDonna. The last machine was great. This one is even better. Love the easy controls and the ease of setting up profiles for different users. Means you can make beverages to suit all the families tastes. Fantastic Coffee machine, expensive, but highly recommended. You won't be disappointed with this product.

I did my research before getting a good fully automatic coffee machine. There is so much to say about this one ( and so far all has been great) Dual boiler warm up super quickly, I have to change the temp to low as medium is really hot (some people might like that) . Great selection of preconfigured drinks that you can modify to your liking. You can also create your own recipes via de app. Multiple profiles so everyone store their preferences. The coffee is great, consistent and fantastic aroma and crema. The bean adapt technology really help to get the best of your coffee , but again if you want to can still configure the grind, temp and pressure to suit your taste. She can prepare the kids' breakfast while her coffee is being made, knowing every time it will be perfect. She has set up one of the profiles to be specific for a different sized cup, so depending on how much time she has, she can either slam down a quick, small coffee, or put her feet up with a larger mug Taking the machine out of the box can seem a bit daunting, the machine is gorgeous but looks like you would need a degree in engineering to work out out. This couldn't be further from the truth (apart from how good it looks, but more on that in a bit). As soon as you plug it in, the crisp display walks you through everything with illustrated examples, and shows you pictures of what you need (like the descaling spout when needed, we would have had no idea what piece we needed or how to do it without the digital walk through) The machine also just looks like the Rolls Royce of automatic coffee machines, much to the delight of my wife who was able to get rid of our ugly clunky machine I've always loved my coffee, but hated the guess work that comes with making them at home. Now, I can't have coffee anywhere else

Being a coffee-lover, I have cycled between instant coffees, sachets of premixed coffees, espresso machines and capsule offerings. I would say I have tried almost everything to get barista-style coffee at home this must be one of the most lux machines I have seen and tried by a long mile. I have been able to experience and taste a full variety of coffees that were previously only available to me at an upmarket caf, and all this within the touch of just a button. Apart from the solid-build, well thought-out design, and the ability to make (and customise) different types of coffees, it is easy to clean with most attachments handily detachable and conveniently washed under running water. Likewise, the milk carafe is equally easy to use with its function to warm or froth milk as well as the self-clean function which is wonderful for people like my family who are reluctant to wash much. What I love about this machine is the ability to use it with its app (which is connected through WIFI.) From the app on my device I can remotely select (from my profile) the beverage of my choice. Imagine doing all this while getting ready for work, putting on your make-up and coming into the kitchen to a cup of freshly-brewed barista-styled coffee. All done under 60-seconds. And most importantly, I have found a machine that gives me professional barista-quality coffee without creating a problem for the environment. I no longer have to worry about the use of capsules in my daily coffee consumption. Not only that - the coffees grounds can be used for my compost in my garden. Win-win for me and Planet Earth.

Great Machine and fnatiastic Coffee.

I would have rated 4.5 Stars as it does lack good programming. It's relatively quiet, water & milk temperatures are both perfect for us and can be adjusted. The coffees we are getting from espresso, cappuccino and latte are better than most coffee shops, we are using Lavazza Espresso Barista Perfetto Coffee Beans. The minor complaint is that with all this automation is should not be rocket science to program the exact coffee I want. We like a large mug of Caff latte for a wake-up call in the morning, not a tiny cup. It should be possible to combine the Long coffee (a pre-set coffee providing two proper shots) with the desired milk to achieve this, however it does not appear to be possible to program more than a single shot. It allows you to customise your drinks through the app as well and it appears on the machine after you've saved your selection through the app. The machine allows you to make teas as well (hot water) and warm milk eliminating the need to have a kettle. After two weeks, the machine asked to be descaled. I went through this process last Thursday (12/8/21) and it takes approximately half an hour to do. You will not be able to use the machine again until you go through the descaling process when it tells you. The machine gives step by step instructions on what to do and you will need to have a plastic or glass container handy to catch the descaling water. I strongly recommend you watch the Delonghi's YouTube video first on how to descale https//www.youtube.com/watchvERYMSL336xk before attempting. Remember also to buy one or two bottles of genuine Delonghi descaling solution - they cost approximately $22.00 for a 500 ml bottle which is about 5 rounds of descaling as the machine uses 100ml of descaling solution. I can't say at this stage how often I will need to descale. Overall this machine will eliminate the need for you to go out for a coffee saving you a lot of money in the long term.

Perfectly Delightful PrimaDonna

With the PrimaDonna Soul, there’s no need to manually measure servings of ground coffee, no need for a tamper to press the coffee to the right level on the filter, or to read any temperature dial to get the milk to the proper temperature. It takes a push of a button, an optional turn of a lever for the milk, and all is done. The screen provides instructions in case there is something amiss – perhaps the need to add more coffee beans in the receptacle, or water in the tank. I was hesitant at first when the time came to start using the machine, since I had no prior knowledge or experience with these types of gadgets, but with a lengthy review of the user manual and viewing the procedures on YouTube, I felt confident that this would be something that I could master with ease. My concerns as a first-time owner and user of such a device are twofold – the cover, or upper part, of the milk carafe doesn’t fit snugly to the main part – it’s a bit loose. If the container is handled, inadvertently or inattentively, from the top, the 2 parts easily separate, and the plastic container drops and spills its contents. I hope sometime soon it could have a rubber ring where they join together, acting as a seal, keeping both parts together. Secondly, while it’s great to see frothy milk and foam pouring out while making my cappuccino, it generates steam which rises and settles on the touch screen. This also happens while cleaning the nozzle. This worries me that it might seep through and damage the internal mechanism behind the screen, so I have to keep wiping after each prepared cup. But all things being equal, and considering the pros and cons in the effort of making a great cup of coffee, this is one machine I am grateful for and wouldn’t trade it for any other. I'll just have to be more careful in holding the milk carafe, and make sure to wipe the machine down after use. The PrimaDonna Soul prepares my coffee just the way I want – perfectly. DeLonghi has made the PrimaDonna Soul the star of my kitchen, and I consider myself the primo uomo when preparing my favourite hot beverage.

Another interesting aspect of the coffee machine is that it can change the settings depending on the type of bean you choose to create the perfect cup of coffee through their 'bean adapt technology'. Overall, this coffee machine does all the thinking and work for you so you don't have to, something that's great for a first time coffee machine user like myself. This is truly a top of the line coffee machine and it definitely shows with the quality of coffee it creates and the advanced technology that it uses. Even cleaning the machine wasn't as difficult as I had expected. You can remove the parts easily and put them back in without any problems. Overall, I think it's a great product to have and a good investment if you constantly buy coffee from cafes and coffee shops.

The water tank is 2.2L meaning you will get a good amount of drinks before you have to fill and the coffee bean storage is generous at 500g. The look and feel of the product is high quality & looks like it will last. The negatives I have are; 1. The water catchment tray is very small and needs emptying after 5 drinks due to the pre/post water cycle procedure of the machine. 2. Only one coffee beans container so if you want a different style you will need to put in ground coffee or empty the beans!!! If you like the beans in there then it isn't a problem I suppose. 3. The water dispenser range only goes up to 140mm, so if you have a tall mug or flask for on the move it won't fit under. 4. Price is a lot more than others machines but I suppose you get what you pay for, I will hopefully have this machine for the next 5 years at least, 3 coffees per day works out a lot cheaper than coffee shops. I would recommend this product, lovely coffee, very easy to use & efficient with 1 touch coffee.

When our friend Greg visits he has an oat milk piccolo programmed to his liking, and even his wife Tania has her herbal tea fully catered for, with the tea function! The creama is so good, and the taste of the coffee is maximised with the personalisation of beans added. The PrimaDonna Soul is so easy to use, fill the water and coffee beans.
