I purchased this two weeks ago and I'm so impressed with the sound quality. The set up was very straight forward and easy to follow. The sound was great but to improve the performance ever more I strongly recommend downloading the Audyssey Multi EQ app. to your mobile phone. You can fine tune the amplifier even further to achieve an amazing quality sound.

Having bought this to replace a top range Yamaha AX1 Amp I can say that this amp sounds better in every situation, for upscaling sound from TV it excels. Listening to music is also extremely good. Basic installation is pretty easy with onscreen directions. Some of the finer settings can be difficult to do. Still haven't got it to work with google. The heos app has room for improvement but does the job most the time. Build quality and rear layout is very good. My only disappointment is the remote has very limited universal operation of other devices and is neither LED or Learning, So you are going to need a universal remote otherwise you will end up with too many remotes. If the remote would have had a learning function I would have rated the Amp 5 stars.

A little complex in wiring up and set-up. Using the on screen set-up instructions simplified this but using the remote took a little while as my TV kept cancelling the audio but a revisit to the set-up instructions solved the problem. Once the Odyssey was set-up the sound difference compared to 5.1 was incredible. The future looks bad for the cinema as this set-up matches it and there no annoying person eating popcorn at my home cinema.

I purchased my Denon AVC 6700 9 months and was very happy with it.I had to call Denon support a couple of times to get advice on how to set something up and they were so helpful. As it can be used as a 13.1 I decided to get an external amp. On connecting it up I found I wasn’t getting sound from one side of the pre amp so again I got on to Denon support and they talked me through several tests to discover there was indeed a fault.I contacted Richer Sounds and explained that as I had never used this function from new, it must have been an existing problem from new. After explaining that because of the functions on this amp, my whole entertainment system was reliant on this amp and without it I could neither watch tv, play games , listen to records, cds or ... MoreI purchased my Denon AVC 6700 9 months and was very happy with it.I had to call Denon support a couple of times to get advice on how to set something up and they were so helpful. As it can be used as a 13.1 I decided to get an external amp. I brought this Denon AVC-X6700 two weeks ago.. I found it amazing amp. It true what the say.. if you buy a expensive product you get high quality product.. You definitely need high quality speakers for this amp.. My frontspeakers are Q Acoustics Q3050i (Walnut).. I have 11.2 speaker setup and it produces Dolby Atmos and Auro 3D.. The sound effects is so immersive, you can hear sound at every point of the room.. It's definitely a fantastic amp in my opinion.. There are more expensive amp then this one.. But Denon X6700 is suitable for the Home Theatre enthusiast.. Not for average consumer who wants simple 5.1.2. setup. This amp has a max 13 speakers setup.. To get Auro 3D you must have minimum of 11.1 speakers setup.. If you got the budget - just buy it!
I was replacing my Denon AVC-X6400H which was still performing well but was no longer adequate for my 8K TV and PS5 gaming requirements. This copes admirably with everything. Only issue is the HDMI handshake with Sky box is temperamental, which I had on previous amp and hoped would go with this one, But the PS5 sounds and plays amazing through it and I really noticed the upgrade even in the picture quality. It's 5 stars for all it offers but let down by only 1 HDMI input of 8k (2.2).
I was on the fence for more than a year about this AVC but finally bit the bullet after seeing other reviews. This model was of particular interest as i needed amplification of 10 speakers + 2 subs. So far, i have not regretted the purchase.Even with basic tuning, all 10 speakers have become alive, there is just so much more sound filling the room and watching movies is a whole different experience. You simply get enveloped in the sound and feel like you are part of the scene.Same goes for music.Another reason to go with Denon was their Auro3D format. Internet seems to be raving about it and i have to admit the hype is real. Better than Dolby Atmos, in my opinion.Very impressive amp!
This is my fourth Denon AVR in 13 years and it feels very much part of the product family. It's a solid, well featured receiver with few surprises. The sound quality is great. The main reason to upgrade is evolving video standards and this receiver feels solidly future proof - at least for the next 5 years or so - with 8K processing and all the digital video and audio formats you are likely to come across. In almost every way, the device will be perfect for the vast majority of home theater enthusiasts who don't have car-level budgets for their gear.I've taken one star off because it's susceptible to occasional HDMI handshaking issues that I also had with my last Denon receiver - sometimes the connection between my 4th gen Apple TV and Samsung Q9FN fails and the ... MoreThis is my fourth Denon AVR in 13 years and it feels very much part of the product family. In almost every way, the device will be perfect for the vast majority of home theater enthusiasts who don't have car-level budgets for their gear.I've taken one star off because it's susceptible to occasional HDMI handshaking issues that I also had with my last Denon receiver - sometimes the connection between my 4th gen Apple TV and Samsung Q9FN fails and the TV shows 'no signal' and I need to re-do a handshake to get them to be happy (typically by going into the settings menu on the receiver and exiting). Denon issues a firmware update a year or so ago that partially addressed it, but it still happens occasionally. This hasn't happened with any of the other combination of devices I have, though (PS4, Vero 4k+, Xbox, etc.).It's a bit annoying, but not a blocker.
I brought this 3 months ago and so glad I did. Firstly let me get the negatives out the way. This is about my 8th amp so I thought I knew my way around setting them up. Wrong I had to re learn. Second I have now got my 4k/8k adaptor on its way so can play 4k games at correct speed for my new xbox. First time out the box it's easy to wire same as my old denon 4500 that's where the similarities end. This is not a straight out of the box expecting a totally new sound experience. I run 2 x t7i rels but for the first 6 weeks I really could not tell the difference between the 2 amps. Then it happened a run in amp little tweets week by week (getting to know it) and my living room just came alive. Put on avengers 4k endgame my neighbour told me it knocked a cup off her shelf.!! Saving private Ryan 4k your road will hear it. Its worth noting I use a panny 820 4k player and all round Dali speakers with a 5.2.4 set up can go 2 speakers more but at the moment it's where to put them. Have patience with this amp, get it right it will pay you back 10 fold.
I had a problem with my denon Avc- x6700. All I have is great praise the way this problem was handled I didn't have all the packaging so they sent out a new box with new packaging and arrange for the denon to be picked up. They did tell me that it could take up to a month . When I received the denon back it was a brand new one as they couldn't repair the old one. The receiver was two years and two months when it went wrong but as I had the six-year guarantee with Richard sounds that was included in my purchase. Thank you very much for such great after sales service
