At first I thought the floss was going to be too thin and break easily, according to other reviews. But it's actually pretty sturdy and dependable. It's a good thickness (like other known-brand dental floss) - it's not too thin and it hasn't broke in the past 3 weeks I've been using it. The only part that I wasn't fully aware of before purchase is that these are made out of silk (which was bad research on my end) - and I would like more information about how the silk is harvested. There are many ways to obtain silk ethically and without boiling silk worms alive. Given this company's lack of information, I would assume the silk is not obtained ethically. This is important for me as a consumer and would not purchase this again, unless there's more transparency.

Great natural silk floss. I’ve struggled with other natural floss before that would split and get stuck between my teeth and be hard to remove. Not a problem with this one. Nice subtle mint flavor. Will buy again!

I used up a full container of this as well as a refill. I found it hard to work through my teeth, which I don't think are particularly close-set, and it felt a little bit like it was too harsh on my gums. The price is also pretty high considering it's a product I use every day, however it did last me (incl refill) the better part of a year. I also think most people use more floss than necessary and that you can train yourself to not automatically pull an excessive amount from the container. Eventually, when I was towards the end of the last refill, the container fell onto the tile in the bathroom and shattered, which is user error but unfortunate. If you have hard tile in your bathroom and/or are clumsy like me, this might be something to keep in mind.

I very much like the idea of this product and appreciate that is supposed to be backyard compostable. Haven't given it enough time to say if that is accurate. The floss is nice an doesn't tear up my gums too much, but my teeth are too tight for it to be truly useful. I have been using the back and forth, pull the floss all the way through and not up and out method since I was young because I've always had tight teeth. The floss shreds on every use. Do not recommend for anyone with tight teeth. I'm using more floss now than I did before because it shreds. Great environmentally speaking, but won't be great for my budget at the rate I'm using it. Bummer.

It looks like it's comprised of multiple threads and I can't tell that it's waxed unlike the Package Free brand. The container is cute and being glass is more durable than Package Free's paper container. I don't have a composting facility near me so there's not much i can do with this piece of plastic besides throw it in the trash. In landfills, bioplastics are deprived of the conditions needed to decompose & can release significant levels of methane, which has ~30x the warming power of CO2. The necessary conditions for decomposition of PLA are not met in the natural environment, so if bioplastics end up in the environment, they have the same lifespan as oil-based plastics. Basically, PLA plastic is just a great form of greenwashing, especially when you don't live near an industrial composting site. I purchased these for my husband and I really wanting them to work. I read the reviews about how easily the string breaks and was committed to flossing gently. My floss did break, but it wasn't a big deal.Until the weight of the spool of floss was too much and it broke the the string of floss while it was on the container. Not a big deal until I went to use it again, finding the floss had broken off inside the spool. Even using tweezers, I was unable to ever find the end of the string. I tried quite a few things. In the end, the brand new spool of floss is basically unusable. And while I admire what the brand is trying to do, having to buy new spools of floss three uses in seems like a waste of money, product, and in emissions to ship it.
I love this item and I wanted to buy the unflavored version. However it was not clear that I was buying the peppermint version or I would not have bought it. I am allergic to peppermint.
