I was drawn to 'Active Moist' due to its many fantastic plant-derived ingredients. My first attempt at applying it was on a morning. Bad idea! I got this complimentary with my order and it's amazing. It literally glides on your skin. I mix mine with some droplets of the barrier defense booster.I had initially ordered other products (listed below). I have pretty good skin, soft, smooth, and I hardly ever get spots. The only issue I have are slight dark circles under my eyes which I hate I wear concealer daily to cover them. I don't need to wear foundation daily though. I've never particularly got products specifically for my face as I haven't seen the need to. I got the products though because I wondered if my skin could be better after doing the analyzing thing and it pointing out issues quite frankly I never saw. I continued to use it for about 4 - 6 weeks and then my work got busy so I didn't keep up with my routine and actually forgot to. Now a couple of weeks later I noticed my nose being really greasy, blocked pores around my nose, and my skin generally not looking as vibrant! I realized, it must be the fact I stopped using the products! All those issues were there before but I never noticed them as being a problem as my skin overall looked fine. That's what urged me to write a review, you may not notice a great improvement straight away, but if you stop, you'll notice the difference and see the magic it's done!I definitely will purchase this again when my sample runs out!

Because it was so small I tried it out by applying it to a few dry patches my daughter I get on our faces. It worked really so well that when I was able to purchase it I definitely did! Overall I have dry skin so I do focus on quality moisturizing products but this can be a tiny bit over the top on moisturizing to use daily for me. It occasionally breaks me out if I use it every day. So I do only use it a couple times a week to avoid breakouts. This was my favorite moisturizer for oily skin at my salon. This is a non oily, non oclussive moisturizer. Unlike other oily skin moisturizers this one does a good job at hydrating skin and not make it shiny or cause break outs. As an esthetician I reccomend it. However, since it's not longer an exclusive brand. I heard all dermalogica formulas have gotten softer for commercial purposes and no longer have the very effective formula used when esthetician exclusive brand. I hope that no changes was made to this formula. As a professional I discontinued using Dermalogica when it became available to the public thru Sephora and other stores. However they have exellent products and I highly reccomend this particular one.

Decent, but not for Winter

This stuff worked for me as a nighttime cream during the summer months (I was using a free sample). I ended up buying a large size of this moisturizer because I liked it. However, once it hit November, it wasn't doing much for me anymore and I was left with my skin feeling very dry (I have the driest skin known to man). Every winter I have to switch to a heavy creamy moisturizer, and unfortunately, this was not it. I ended up switching to another brand of moisturizer that I use during winter, but will use the remainder of this during the summer months!

Great for Dry Skin

I have super dry skin & mild eczema and my esthetician recommended this. It has been working really great! Nice & creamy thickness, but not greasy. The price kinda caused me to hesitate to purchase this, but a little goes a long way for coverage.I sometimes get a really dry T-zone w/some flaking so I couldn't even use a tinted moisturizer without it looking kinda cracky. I use an oil cleanser, toner, serum, a dab of colloidal oatmeal cream to calm some redness, then this as my overall moisturizer. Then my skin is nice & ready to take on a tinted moisturizer with SPF.

I have a drawer full

I have a drawer full of moisturizers & this is only one that has made a real difference almost immediately. Some super dry rough areas on neck & upper chest I’ve been chasing forever. Within a week that skin is soft, moisturized & rough areas gone. My first clue was on morning after first use I touched my neck in that 1 place & it still felt moisturized— that never happens. My skin soaks up moisture like a dry sponge so this was notable. It’s only gotten better —this is the bomb. Also it doesn’t set off psoriasis or my reactive weird sun- damaged skin.Majorly excellent moisturizer Thank you Dermalogica.

My skin loves this

I absolutely LOVE this moisturizer. I have used Dermalogoca products for two decades. The past couple years I was trying other brands that cost less but was disappointed so I came back. Nothing else works as well for my skin as Dermalogoca.At 51 now, y skin needed more moisture than it used to so I thought I’d try this. This is a wonderful moisturizer and my skin loves it. It’s rich and creamy but not greasy. I have not had any issues with it irritating my skin or causing breakouts. It lives my skin hydrated and soft but not oily. It pairs well at bedtime with the photo oil and in the daytime with the hyaluronic ceramide mist.

New packaging and wondering if something has changed in the formula

I have used Intensive Moisture Balance faithfully, day and night, for at least a decade. My 82 year old Mom has done the same and has amazing skin, not weathered at all, totally supple and young. I notice that the recent tubes you are shipping out have slightly different packaging, with French writing on the front, different from what you show on your website. For some reason, the product isn't performing as usual. I have ordered several different tubes from the Dermalogica website, Nordstrom and Planet Beauty to test this out and my skin seems to be drying out, not nearly as hydrated and getting a bit red and irritated. I am confident something is different because I know this product so well. I have called Customer Service and can't get to the bottom of it. It is nowhere near the regular moisturizer that I have been using for years. My skin looks dull and yhe tone is uneven. The real formula would make my skin glow, well-hydrated and even toned. Luckily I did not throw the very last tube that I used before purchasing this new one, and the other day I used the very little product left in it to make a comparison.Voila! My shiny skin was back the next morning and stayed with me all day! Please bring back the old formula because this is not what we are paying for.
