These were great for fading my dark spots, but dry/combo skin needs more moisture than the day or overnight cream provides on its own. For reference, I'm 42 and have aging dry/combo skin. I have dark spots from old sun damage. This set was gifted by Dermalogica. When trying this set I noticed my dark spots fading almost immediately, definitely by day 3. The large, light splotches on my cheekbones from too many sunburns started retreating. The area of damage was shrinking as well as lightening overall. I obviously haven't used it long enough to speak to long term benefits but already I see dark spots on my jawline from hormonal breakouts fading. This is more of a stubborn area because of friction from mask wearing. The products felt good on my skin, with no irritation. They all worked very well with my skin and I didn't experience any breakouts or redness. It seemed to brighten up my skin and even my texture out a little bit. But I honestly didn't notice a major difference while using. It really wasn't much different than any other night serum, moisturizer, or cream that I've been using. Personally, I wouldn't change my current skin care out for this one. My others seem to keep my skin hydrated longer. This however, did hydrate but not as long as I'd like it to. If you're looking for a new skin care routine, then I would suggest giving it a try and seeing how you like it. I have fair combination skin that has experienced quite a few breakouts in the past and has discoloration and scarring. In addition to this, I have reached a certain age where sun exposure does not create an even tan but makes my skin even more splotchy. I have been using the serum regularly with sunblock or with the dark spot solutions moisturizer. The moisturizer is nearly identical to my sunblock but leaves me feeling slightly greasy. It has almost a richer texture than a serum but it still feels light on the skin, and absorbs easily. I use it in the mornings followed by a moisturizer and sunscreen. The sunscreen moisturizer in this set is also really good, it doesn't leave a greasy feeling and I love that it's SPF 50.
