I was looking to upgrade my desk and was targeting a desk that could cater for my weight requirements and how it needs to be really sturdy. Specifically i wanted to have my PC and Studio monitor speakers on my desk as my little one was starting to learn how to push buttons!. The desk was to support Working from Home, Casual Gaming and Music Production. It also had to have good cable management functionality to prevent the little ones from accidently pulling things.I went with the 2 metre Hardwood walnut table with 3 grommet holes for flexibility. I also purchased the hidden controller, Gaming pegboard, Walnut Drawer and 10 point cable management option. I am very happy with this purchaseThe desk arrived within 3 days ( Sydney). The packaging was exactly as described in the installation video on here. It took me around 45 min to put the desk together and about 2 hours for cable management ( I take this part seriously! ).The only challenge i faced was the cable management. The power connector cables and main controller took a bit of time to get in the right position and allow space for other cables. I do have alot of cables including XLR audio cables to channel in. I mounted my Thunderbolt 3 dock, Philip Hues light switch , and Guitar preamp under the desk with plenty of space to have the drawer, controller and leg room. When rising or lowering it is very quietThe desk is supporting easily 60- 70kgs including my 49 inch monitor, Ergotron monitor arm, Gaming PC, Speakers x2 and clamp stands , Microphone boom arm.Note - Be careful with Sharpe edged objects on the desk top, use a drill for Drawer . The Hidden controller does not fit the pre mount drill holes for the Default controller. You will need to drill these yourself.

While the assembly instructions and videos online are very straightforward, there are some unwritten complications that I discovered along the way and simply had to cope with.At this size desk, the Crossbar Ends come so close together in the middle of the underside of the desk, that the pre-drilled holes in the wood intended for the Control Box are inaccessible. They are coved by the metal bracket. What this means is that the Control Box cannot be mounted (with screws) in this perfectly out of the way place. What Desky has done to compensate, is include two other possible mounting locations for the Control Box with predrilled holes: one in front of the Crossbars, the other behind them. These options are not mentioned anywhere. If I positioned the Control Box in front of the Crossbars, my knees would constantly hit the Box when in a seated position. I didn’t much like that idea, so tried to mount it behind the Crossbars. Sadly, if you have also bought a Cable and Power Channel like I have done, this very useful and ascetically pleasing accessory inhibits the mounting in this position. One other solution suggested was to put the Control Box within the Cable and Power Channel. Doing this would have required me to use both Cable Extensions to power the legs, and thus the Cable and Power Channel would fill up very quickly, and I'd be fighting the cables from there on. I didn't want to do this.My solution, was to use a number of black cable ties to mount the Control Box where I imagined it going in the first place - between the Crossbars. This works nicely, and won’t be noticed, but it was a significant annoyance to discover this and have to work out a solution.Having done all this, I was excited to finally set up my computer. Annoyingly, this also did not go smoothly, as I have detailed in my seperate review for the Cable and Power Channel. The desk height Controller works beautifully, but is a bit floppy, even though I’ve ******* the screws in as tight as I dare. Finally, the Pheasantwood is so beautiful, I would love to be able to purchase an extra piece at a much smaller size - to cover my filing cabinet. Ultimately, my new printer (on order) will go here, but it would be nice for it to all go together. Desky does not offer this though I am all ears if they do in the future. For those thinking that one could buy a bigger desk and cut it down to size, having a spare piece… I’m glad I didn’t. The Wood has been so well prepared (with many predrilled holes etc) you’d be compromising a lot, not to mention the finish. So I look to Desky, maybe they can tell me their wood supplier?

Reluctantly I'm only giving three stars. (5 to 1 to 5 = 3) I'll explain why:The product arrived and assembled easily and looked and felt great. Powered it up, it went slightly up then down but moved no more!My Desky No Worky!I couldn't even use it...it took up all my office space as it was assembled but stuck at it's lowest level under which my legs don't fit! I can accept electronics fail..no real prob with that...Yet it was their "repair process" that really drove me nuts! So much so that I "was" only going to give them one star! The most annoying thing was they wouldn't let me talk to their technician and insisted that I had to make them a "video" and "email" it to them!Like umm, surly it would follow that if I'm too ****** to assemble it correctly them I'm ... MoreReluctantly I'm only giving three stars. Period!!So what... that's "my" problem... I should **** it up and waste more of my own time making you "another" senseless video???***? I was furious... (ok I'd used my iPhone but still) I'm actually a qualified professional in the film/video/electronics business! I'd compressed/sent her probably the world's most common video format, .MP4 wrapper with the H.264 codec....I rang Desky again and politely told them to... ahem..."try downloading it on another computer"!!Anyway after many emails and pointless phone calls, today, 30 days after ordering, I am finally up (and can do down) and running and I do now love my bamboo desky. ;-))After all...I really just wanted a quality open leg desk for my office! The up/down bit is maybe .001% of it's life/use.My bamboo top is solid, looks gorgeous and has a pleasing feel to the touch. The black legs are super sturdy and minimalistic and now that it's working, it moves with smooth precision. The slight motor noise is pleasing to my ears.To Desky, I did ask (but got ignored) about a manual override? I'm sure it doesn't have one...but it "Should" have! Desky please note! Maybe develop a manual winder lever for the legs for when power is unavailable? To potential Buyers wondering if I would now recommend Desky? Yes I would. My service experience aside, the desk itself is the best quality one that I had found and is a pleasure to work on.
I have been using my Desky for a couple of months now and am very happy with it. I wanted an attractive piece hiding the messy cables that is easily height adjustable. (Pictures attached)The hardwood is a solid professional finish, both arms and legs are heavy to pickup AND importantly the desk is very stable Top quality gear should last for years. The arms have many adjustments, each adjustment lockable. The first month I loosened up the arms allowing the monitors to be moved around without any resistance. Later I locked the 3 arms to their horizontal positions, ensuring the distance of the monitors didn’t change when swivelling. I have seen photos where the arms are bolted to the desk, but the clamps are working fine for me, very stable & looks great.Cable ... MoreI have been using my Desky for a couple of months now and am very happy with it. I have seen photos where the arms are bolted to the desk, but the clamps are working fine for me, very stable & looks great.Cable tray is recommended, storing the power board and hiding all the cables was important for me with only 1 power cable running to ground. The instruction videos show the power pack placed in the cable tray, but I think it is fine ******* to the bottom of desk (holes predrilled already). The dock hangs out the front of the cable tray, but that is ok, no one ever notices and is still accessible. The option of a dedicated tray for the modern style dock would be a design improvement, or something similar? It is easy to crawl the desk up and down in small increments to find the most comfortable height setting. I have 3 pre-set heights 1. Sitting when working (68.7cm) 2.Standing when working (106cm) 3. Lowest setting (60cm) moving the keyboard mouse out of the road when I play my guitar (so I don’t bash the neck of the guitar). I also purchased the adjustable foot rest as well as the protective mat, happy with both and a fair price. The desk arrived after 10 days (Melbourne address) October 2021. I made the mistake of ordering the heavy duty arm for the laptop. Theo was able to ship me the correct arm with minimal fuss (Check the specs, and know the weight of your monitors). This was a big investment, but well worth it now spending most of the working week at home. Before I would close my office door when guests were over, now I make sure they see it :)

I can’t believe how much a new desk has improved my entire streaming space! I chose Teak to match my current obsession with mid century furniture and it is perfection! Building the desk was pretty straight forward as Desky provide both a manual and build guides on YouTube. The control panel feels solid and the noise is very satisfying when it goes up and down (not loud btw).I had one minor hiccup of not being able to screw the control panel onto the desk. But, after messaging the Desky team on Instagram, they replied instantly and steered me in the right direction (aka, a little bit of elbow grease goes a long way).I splurged by adding the x10 power adapter and integrated cable management channel and I’m honestly so happy I did. For a whole streaming setup (camera, audio interface, 2 monitors, stream deck, PlayStation , keyboard, and way more I can’t think of right now), there’s a SINGLE cable that runs down the leg of the desk to a power outlet. How dang satisfying is that?!^get an under desk PC mount to achieve ultimate cable management heaven.TLDR: this is the most expensive thing I own, but it’s worth it and I love it.
Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase of the bamboo dual desk, cable management tray, 8 outlet power, 2 x single monitor arms, and metal side tray. The desk itself is of incredibly high quality, generally speaking. However, I did miss a couple intricate details of the installation, which could have been avoided with either a more careful eye to detail, or better focus with the use of highlights in the manual which can easily be overlooked. Please consider this as feedback for the manual authors here, to draw more attention to which way around things need to be, such as pilot holes for the controller. (Perhaps it does, but highlight/focus it more than it does already).A few installation issues I had were the pre-drilled holes in the metal frame for screws to go into, weren't 'finished' entirely well, with shards of metal protruding and prevent the screw from inserting. I had to get out a round file to gouge them off and clean up one or two bolt holes. The pilot holes in the wood for mounting the controller were about 1mm diameter, but actually about 3.5mm holes are required for the provided screws, for both the controller and for the under desk drawer screws. Without drilling the pilot holes larger, the screws became too difficult to insert, to the point where if you don't have an excellent screwdriver you will strip the screws. I'm not sure how drilling holes into the desk should be expected by the user, or how they expect us to screw large screws into hard bamboo using a hand screwdriver. Perhaps this size of pilot holes is okay for other wood types. Also I'm not sure if the manual included the instructions for installing the under-desk draw. It certainly did for the integrated cable channel, to install it before flipping up. Wish I had thought about installing the draw before flipping up the desk and installing many appliances onto it.I felt having some handyman skills was pretty essential for the installation of the desk. I'm not sure that every customer would have resolved the dodgy unfinished screw thread or larger pilot holes required. The '30 minute' installation as claimed in the video is probably a bit of a stretch. If you have a completely clear workspace, all the tools neatly laid out, and have rehearsed the installation at least once prior, sure. But if you're reading the manual for the first time, unpacking as you go, checking you're provided with all the parts before assembly. No way, allow a couple hours solo, or 1.5 hours for 2 people. Then allow much longer again if you're needing to install many cables into the integrated cable tray.
I have had my Desky for nearly a year. I had been eying of a Desky for some time, and with the increased working from home hours now being a permanent (and welcomed!) thing, I decided to make an investment in a quality sit/stand desk, and the Desky has not disappointed. Having monitor arms and quite a deep desk means there is still plenty of space. The cable management is also excellent and keeps everything tidy and very simple when adjusting the height. And who wants unsightly cables detracting from such a beautiful desk?? On the height adjustment, it operates flawlessly and it’s so simple to switch between sitting and standing, which is handy for long meetings. An unlooked-for benefit when sitting is just how precise I can be with desk height, so it suits me perfectly. In 20+ years of working in an office I’ve never had that ability so didn’t appreciate just how beneficial it is for my lanky frame! With the price it is an investment, and one I have enjoyed and look forward to using for many years to come.
