Dettol Australian Heartland Collection Daintree Rains Grapefruit & Citrus Hand Wash 500ml

I always only buy the Dettol antibacterial hand wash so was excited to try their new range. I like the packaging and size of bottle but not the consistency and how it doesn’t lather. I am not a fan of gel or cream cleansers and prefer my handwash to lather so I feel clean. The scent is a nice fresh citrus smell at first but then kind of gets over powered by the grapefruit. I don’t really like the smell and prefer the original Dettol hand wash smell. I might try the other scents to see if I like them but won’t be buying this one.

I really enjoyed this hand wash. At first I thought it didn’t emulsify enough but the more I used the product the more I came to appreciate the small amount of bubbles as it meant that it doesn’t take as long to wash it all off. My partner on the other hand did not appreciate this. He felt as though it didn’t feel like it was cleaning his hands well enough. I trust Detol as a brand and that they wouldn’t release a product that didn’t fulfil its job. The scent was lovely and subtle but gives an snuggly by the fire feel. The packaging is chic and looks very nice on my bathroom counter. I would recommend this product to friends and family.

Received this in the mail to test. I was extremely pleased with the packaging as it matched the aesthetic of my bathroom. It’s almost like an Aesop bottle without the heavy price tag. Checked the ingredients of this formula and is also very impressed it doesn’t contain many of the nasties so this hand wash is very gentle on the skin. I love the smell, I received the grapefruit and citrus one and really like it as I love the fruity and floral smells and it’s not overpowering either. This hand wash doesn’t dry out the hands as it is quite moisturising. I minus one star because I wish there were more bubbles. I enjoyed the smell of this new version of dettol hand wash, it’s not their typical chemical smelling hand wash. They have upped their game with packaging, and aesthetics. Definitely something you don’t need to decant into a nicer bottle. I will say that the product itself is quite watery. Almost like you need to shake the bottle before you squeeze it out and wash your hands. Also, the pump top is really awkwardly short. This needs to be extended for easier use. I’d say, if it a go if you want something new to try.

I love the scent of this hand-wash more than anything. Sure the packaging is absolutely stunning in my bathroom, and it's very sturdy packaging too, but the scent when you lather it is amazing and refreshing, it's something I can't stop raving about! Its also not a scent I can say I've smelt in just every brand either, it's very unique which is lovely! My hands also feel very clean afterwards despite lathering not being super soapy and bubbly like other handwashes. There's also no horrible residue or anything at all which is great! The only reason this has four stars for me and not five is that it does dry my hands out a bit unfortunately. I quite liked this hand soap. It's 500ml which is twice the amount of standard hand soaps which are only 250mls. It has a slippery and moisturising texture which was really nice when massaging the product in my hands. You are also hit with the citrusy grapefruit smell almost as soon as you pump the product out, which was quite pleasant. Afterwards my hands felt refreshed and clean. Usually with other hand soaps I have to moisturise my hands after using them as they leave my skin feeling extremely dry, however my skin only felt slightly dry after, and I didn't feel the need to immediately moisturise. This hand wash is so lovely. The fragrance is Devine, I got Grapefruit Citrus. It doesn't lather a lot but it does a nice amount. I like the fact you can pump a little or a lot, if need. It's smooth and hydrating. I love how my hands feel so soft and hydrated for hours and bonus, I get no irritations my fingers don't itch after I put my rings back on, like most handwashes do. Dettol, you have outdone yourself this is my new fave hand wash. I highly recommend these handwashes 10/10

The texture is very diluted kind of lotion feel. However, it lathers well and immediately creating foam in my hands. It does not strip natural moisture off my hands, leaving my skin still soft and smooth after many washes. The pump is also easy to use. This has a grapefruit citrus scent, which does not really linger after washing hands. I always like my handwash with fragrance for some reason, so that my hands can smell fresh after every wash. This scent is just right regardless. Most importantly it kills 99.9% germs, making it a bliss to use in this sanitized needed era.
