This mitre saw was sadly a disappointment to what I expected from DeWalt. The slide seems to have unexpected friction half way through the pull. The mitre angles needed calibration. The compound cuts also need calibration, the lump or bump that points to the angel line is very hard to get in the right spot. The saw should have been £295 and it would be a foot tool for that. The motor works well, cuts very well once set up.For cordless it seems to run excellently. I needed a small saw for the ease or one hand carry, quick set up with cordless. Space saving on my van.I would think more about other options if I were to have a do over. But all my battery’s are DeWalt so…

Really bad quality from dewalt. The saw does not glide freely on the rails. I'm not the only one to report the problem. Toolstop was brilliant in returning item

Having recently bought the DeWalt 18v cordless finish nailer my previous prejudice against the 'yellow perils' has been blown away which, as a long time Festool user, has really surprised me. Thoroughly impressed at the practicality and the performance of several of the 18v tools I now own, and, when I needed a more portable and easier to move mitre saw this superb little Italian made saw was a no-brainier. It really is excellent and though it doesn't have a trenching ability, its performance has astounded me. Using a 5ah battery I have cut battens and posts all day ( about 150 cuts ) and the battery still shows one bar left..The saw was dead-on accurate out of the box, the shadow laser light is novel and precise (much better than my Kapex laser) and the carry ... MoreHaving recently bought the DeWalt 18v cordless finish nailer my previous prejudice against the 'yellow perils' has been blown away which, as a long time Festool user, has really surprised me. Mounted on a DeWalt 7033 stand makes the perfect little sawing station and, having bought a 60 tooth blade for finer work, the finished cut is quite superb. Almost, and here I have to pinch myself, as good as the finish off the Kapex.Highly recommend this cracking little saw which, if you have the DeWalt battery platform, is a superb addition to the workshop.

This is a lovely little saw, I’ve got the DeWalt 10” sliding saw and can be a bit cumbersome carrying it into people’s houses - very easy to bang and dent plaster and door frames etc..This is perfect for those little jobs, making a bath frame for example and can easily be carried in one hand.A trenching feature would be great, also the bed height is different to the bigger saw meaning if I use it on my DeWalt stand I need to adjust the supports, not a biggie but a pain. Also the mitre lock is a knob you turn rather than a cam action on the bigger saw, don’t like it as much but it works fine. Will put a Freud blade on it soon which I’m sure will produce an even nicer cut than the standard blade.Overall very happy with it and will look forward to using it more.
PROS Have been impressed with this saw. Come perfectly square and set. Really quiet compared to 110 & 240 saws. Light and easy to carry and the arm extends a decent distance for doing 7” skirts for example. No need to plug in so cutting decking up the top end of someone’s garden is no longer a problem and you get plenty of use from one 3.0amp+ battery.CONS Doesn’t have a trench setting. Also would love to see Dewalt make a similar size saw to this that tilts both ways. I find it a lot easier if I’m cutting a mitre on 7” skirts if the pencil line is at the front. Have to turn upside down as it only tilts one way and too small to stand up and move to 45. Also other cons is it tilts more than 45 and doesn’t have a lock for the usual 22.5, 30 and 45 so if your working ... MorePROS Have been impressed with this saw. Come perfectly square and set. Been a brilliant buy and a great saw for the cost.
Handy piece of kit, very light I can carry it around the job site with one hand. Running on batteries is a huge advantage as carrying a generator and leads about the site is not practical. So far the 2 batteries have been ample to get me through the day but it's only been used for mdf skirts and arcs. Don't know how it would fair on hardwood as it isn't particularly powerful which is about the only criticism I have of it. Everything else is accurate and well put together as you would expect from dewalt. So far so good.
I needed a small reliable mitre saw for work, and already with loads of dewalt tools and batteries this seemed a good option. Not the most powerful and with a small blade but otherwise brilliant, in tandem with the dewalt mitre saw stand it really is a great set up. Axminster were brilliant, because I needed this urgently and was able to arrange next day delivery, and for a really good price
Yes it is! Im a new build site Joiner and Ive got larger mitre saws but when it comes to carrying tools across sites and to the top of three storey town houses my other saws where a pain where as this is a dream! Soo light weight easy to carry and more than capable. I was concerned with the max depth cut being listed as 50mm as I do a lot of 1st fix studding using 63x38mm cls which while yes it would cut through with the timber flat, Im use to cutting 5 or 6 timbers at a time with my larger saws so was really happy to find it will actually cut 6 cls at a time by using an off cut of ply screwed to the fence to bring the timer off slightly and increasing the cut capacity. Its got to the point where I leave my other saws at home and only use this one now its that good. ... MoreYes it is! Tho the 18v 4ah batterys will also last really well, I get through two of those for a full day studding or one 6ah flexvolt.
Lovely saw, really light to carry, much quieter than my old dewalt 240v mitre saw. Hardly any dust leakage from the supplied dust bag. Dozens & dozens of cuts of 3x2 in one shift from a 4ah battery, stil 2/3 power bars remain. Love it, well impressed! Retailer, DVS, was spot on. Competitive on price, saw, arrived by courier in 2 days.
I have been really pleased with this saw. It cuts really easily and leaves (mostly) clean edges. My only slight complaint is that the preset angles are not perfect out of the box. For price, performance and especially portability I still rate this saw as 5 stars. (I would advise upgrading to Axminster’s own saw blade.)
