I usually buy DeWalt products even though the products are manufactured in 7 different countries around the world. This heat gun is well made and feels good in the hand. Easy controls and sturdily crafted. I do adhere to the premise of “ you get what you pay for “ and I find it difficult to purchase cheap tools because that is all that you can expect…and you end up buying another tool to replace the cheap one that packed up far too quickly.

Used almost daily in our business this product has been reliable for the last couple of years so the replacement was a simple decision. Quality build easy to use with longevity build in at a good price point. The D26414 has easy access variable heat control, good venting to keep the motor cool while getting the nozzle nice and hot additional nozzles also included are a nice extra that just adds to the versatility of this good heat gun. We as manufacturer have used and replace the DeWalt products that are the best we have seen and used and we have used many makes with some lasting no more than a few weeks. This is a cracking heat gun, being able to control the temperature doing old windows is very handy. It’s better thought out than the makita heat gun.

I haven't used a heat gun for many years as I've always used a flame to strip paint. However, the drawbacks of that method led me to the Dewalt D26414. I couldn't find much in the way of reviews or feedback, but having had no problems with Dewalt gear in the past thought I'd give it a go. And what a handy tool it has been so far. Light, easy to use, and fully adjustable. it is plenty hot enough to remove some thick layers of paint and the ability to stand it upright is sure to be a plus in the future. I haven't had it long enough to comment on reliability or longevity, but it has a 3 year warranty so that isn't much of an issue. All in all, well pleased.

Prior to purchasing this Dewalt heat gun I had a Clint Eastwood (tool with no name) this then kept cutting out when it got too hot until it stopped completely. I read a few reviews before making the decision to purchase this gun and nearly all were favourable with its performance so I went for it from Powertool World because they offered the best price online. The tool as with most Dewalt tools,as I have a few, does what it says on the tin and the fact that you can pre-set and hold a digital temperature even after switching the machine off makes it a joy to work with.
