Our contrac(Paul Davis Restoration), quit on us. So I've had to do alot of things myself(at 69 yo). They have spent more than $250,000 on our 1800sf home and supposedly ran out of money. And refused to work our basement back to its 70% finished level!

This is a great tool from DeWalt, The DCD805B is well built, It has an all metal chuck. It is less likely to be damaged or warn down over time. The chuck can be the first item to break down. My last DeWalt drill had the plastic chuck which did just that. This one is the replacement, and I like it a lot. Thanks again to both DeWalt and Lowe's for offering this tool.

I was surprised that the poor quality of craftsmanship for a Dewalt tool. The direction selector switch is so flimsy it feels like it's about to pop out at any moment. The three selection selector switch for power is flimsy and you have to tap the trigger a few times to get it to a slide into the next speed. The whole thing feels like absolute trash. I have a 10-year-old Chicago Electric that feels like it's 10 times the quality and I paid a quarter of the price. Pass on this model till they make drastic changes. It will not last you the 10 years a much cheaper manufacturer will.

I recently sold my big M12 Milwaukee kit, and my old 18V NiCd DeWalt kit. My idea was to sell both those battery platforms, and buy new tools to replace them under one battery platform. I chose DeWalt 20V as the platform, and chose this DCD805 hammer drill, to start replenishing my tools. Not only Was it a mistake buying this drill, I will be going back to Milwaukee. DeWalt just missed out on some big purchases. I won't tolerate a company charging high prices for what is supposed to be quality equipment, only to receive poor quality and excuses.The picture says it all. Like I said, Dewalt really missed a big opportunity here because I was going to replace all the tools I sold, with DeWalt 20V. 20V Max XR Hammer Drill is a fantastic tool for multiple jobs, projects and applications. The hammer drill was used in the installation of mount for a 75" TV above a fireplace. The compact size of this specific piece of equipment made holding the large mount while driving large lag screws possible. The amount of torque and the ability to run the hammer feature made driving the lags a piece of cake. The adjustable light made it easy to illuminate the target and increased visibility. As with all Dewalt products, the hammer drill is a very well built product that has all the power and performance necessary to handle all of the projects that a DYI'er and professional need,
First off I would like to say this is an amazing product. Ive used many hammer drills and this one seems to out power any of the others i have used. Its surprisingly lighter than i would have imagined. The grips on this tool are great. I love the led on the front which you can select the brightness which is a great feature. Its located in a good spot. I paired it with a powerstack battery and went through anything i tried . I would denitely recommend this drill to anyone. Dewalt makes great tools and i look forward to all of their new lines that come up. Get it. You wont be disappointed.
This DCD805 Hammer Drill/ Driver is great. Tons of power in a compact drill, the head is onlt 7" long, weights just under 3 pounds. Paired with a 5ah battery it feels very well balanced in my hand. The anti-kickback saves the wrist from twisting. Love the bright 70 lumens, adjustable, 3 setting light, really illuminates your work target area. As far as drilling, with a 4.5" hole saw it ate through 3/4 plywood with ese, no issues. So far ive only used the hammer drill function for tapcons but it goes through that concrete no problem. Im loving this drill, nice job DeWalt
I use the dcd805 on my job site for many things but this past week is setting pressure sewer boxes . We used it to hammer drill the box to put the pipe in . This drill hammers harder than my previous dewalt hammer drill and doesn’t eat the battery like my old one . The light is one of the best parts . It’s bright and it stays on when you need it . It’s basically a flash light . Rotating the bezel to switch between modes and flipping the torque switch are effortless and the controls are conveniently placed.DeWalt did an amazing job striking a balance between keeping this tool relatively compact without sacrificing features, power, or build quality.
