DeWalt 37-Piece Screwdriving Set DW2176

the picture shown in product says DeWalt. I know they are a great brand. the shipping info says black n decker. I could have gone to Walmart for black n decker. the office on the product is DeWalt. I am afraid I who'l bre asking for a full refund if ther pkg kids not DeWalt. Also.. the shopping charge was outrageous. also only one picture to describe priduct.. which had picture of product with DeWalt written on tool.

After purchasing the Dewalt cordless drill, we purchased this 37pc screwdriving set. What a good buy and well used product. As we are getting older we are finding that anything to make home maintenance easier is a true plus in our lives. As there is no uniform screw head on any product and each and every little thing has a different requirement, this is a much needed item to go along with our battery powered drill/screwdriver. Not a week goes by that we don't use at least one thing from this little case. Everything has a place to put the head and the kit stays so very nice and neat but the best thing is that the Dewalt brand speaks for itself in the quality of each and every item. Bought these screwdriver bits 3 times !!

Yes I did ! I saw these so I grabbed them and checked out . When I got home I went straight to my workbench and right there were 2 more black and yellow DeWalt cases, I opened them and sure enough they were both the same screwdriver bit set. I think a lot of guys have made that mistake, it looks like something your gonna need so you just grab it, I guess I just didn’t stop to think !! :)

Got this set for $10. Figured the screw guides alone were worth that (the bits that have DeWalt printed on them). How it works is you pull the sleeve out by hand, insert the screw into the sleeve, and then drive the screw. It keeps the screw from tilting or angling as you drive it by making it's connection to the driving bit rigid. So you can effortlessly drive a long screw with one hand, which has it's advantages if you're up on a ladder reaching up to a rafter to screw in a soffett! The bits themselves are not as good as milwaukees shockwave bits, which are impact ready. When you use these dewalt ones in an impact driver, even though these are hardened steel and are better than most bits, they are more for traditional drills and drivers than the new compact impact ... MoreGot this set for $10. I got this set recently and I love it. It comes with a ton of the common sizes you don't have to worry about wearing one down and not having a back up. I recently moved so I have been using them a lot and it really isn't showing their wear at all. The case on the other hand is pretty much useless once you take a bit out once. Its tough to get out but next too impossible to get it back in. So I have basically given up on putting it back in, I have a small plastic case I just keep all the ones I use a lot in and stick that inside the case instead. I am surprised how poorly that was designed.

It's a great product, but don't think it contains many different sizes of bits. There are many of the same, but I like that because I tend to lose or wear out bits. To be specific, there are: (10) P2 phillips bits, (8) PR2 Phillips Bits (1) P1 Phillips Bit (1) P3 Phillips bit, (6) SQ2 Square Bits (1) SQ1 Square Bit (1) SQ3 Square bit (2) SL8 Slotted Bits (1) SL10 Slotted Bit (1) SL6 Slotted Bit Then, of course, the magnetic drive guides and adapters and such on the left side of the case. Like some of the other reviewers, I initially found it difficult to put the bits back in the holder. They actually do snap right back in though, if you put the bit in the proper orientation.

Poor Performance

Bought Dewalt brand bits as I thought buying a respected brand name would perform better than those from can tire. But the #2 Robertson doesn't seat any deeper in the screw heads than the cheap bits. They jump out of the screw head as soon as there is any resistance, even when I lean my weight fully into it. Good thing I got them really cheap.

Now I understand that the Phillips #2 is the most common size, but perhaps 7-P2s and 3 each of the P1 and P3 would have been nice? Especially since there are 8-PR2 drywall bits that are basically the same size. Same thing is true of the square bits. There are 6 #2s and only 1 each of #1 and #3. I'm not sure if they've changed it or if some people just can't figure out how to use it. Mine is made with fairly hard rubberized grips holding each bit. It's not incredibly easy to get them back in place if you just try and smash them in, but if you have them rotated in the right way they go in pretty easy. They are definitely held well and won't be falling out. It's also a strong and durable material and has a nice lock on it. Unlike some I like this case, my only complaint is that you have to look at the bit for the # as it doesn't say on the case anywhere. Of course that doesn't matter as much when the majority are going to be a P2 or PR2!

While I love the price point for the amount of hardware you get and the nice sturdy storage box that it comes with, the bits are simply not quite the right size; especially the #2 philips bit. They are way too narrow and will kick back out when screwing long decking screws. I would say the size is somewhere between a #1 and a #2 head. I used them to drive a dozen 3" coarse wood screws and there is so much slop that they started stripping the screw heads. I have tried black and decker and ryobi brand #2 bits and they all fit snug with the screws, but these Dewalt pieces lack the bite that the other bits have. it's no wonder it comes with 18 of them. The tips wear out fast with the sloppy fit. 3 stars for the great price and the magnetic extensions. Workshop

I use my DEWALT weekly either at my home or beach house. It makes it easier when you have the right tools for the project. This set was purchased for the beach house and has everything I need. DEWALT products provide excellent quality for the price and my Loews store always has the products I need.
