A clamp that doesn't clamp. After using it less than 5 times with clamping some wood together, the clamps started "slipping" when tightened. I found out the hard way when a 2x4 I clamped fell and broke some of my plants underneath. I found that all 4 clamps were slipping when applied up to a certain force, some worse than other. Now I have four useless clamps and some dead plants.90% of my tools are Dewalt and i like them, but this has me rethinking on my brand loyalty.

DeWalt is one of the most common name in tools products. For the price it is sure a good attractive deal for a set of 4 bar clamp. Material and Design has its best and weak area. the hand rubber hand grip is too small and the rubber is too soft may not last for long period of use. Compare to the metal bar, their notch cutting is not even depth, so thats why some customer compliant it can not hold really strong during clmaping. I pay extra attention on this arguement. After I tried it, it works ok for tightness for my work. On whole, I more like one of my orange set clamp.

I have used this product for 2 projects and not much use even then in those projects. One of the clamps has already broken. These are super simple, mechanical clamps that shouldn't break, yet it has. There's a black metal flange that maintains the location of the moving clamp while you cinch down with the round handle to get it tight. This black clamp will no longer hold onto the small grooves cut into the long metal rod thus rendering the whole clamp useless. Maybe the grooves need to be made deeper...regardless, poor engineering design for the intended purpose of the tool.

My wife bought this dewalt 4pcs Clamp as our very first Dewalt brand tools. We wanted to see what Dewalts brand has to offer because we had few bad experiences with Ridgid Brand and we no longer want to deal with them.We are a bit disappointed because we thought we were buying brand new product but we notice chipped on the metal and and stain that can't be wipe away. We suspect it to be refurbished product. In addition it does not slide as smooth as Bessy Brand Clamp and often it would get stuck, probably due to some damage on some of the teeth where the clamp slide. Might be able to use them as display I suppose. We gave it 3 star because it looks very nice and it does feels nice on your hand but it wasn't functioning as we expected and it wasn't brand new, ... MoreMy wife bought this dewalt 4pcs Clamp as our very first Dewalt brand tools. May we just got a bad batch.
The general uses for these clamp are perfect for around the home use. I have found the ribs aren’t deep enough for heavy loads like 600 pounds. For small wood working projects I have no complaints. Would recommend for the home “handyman “ not for someone who likes to ape things down.
So sorry to say I was excited to purchase these for a bench repair project in my shop last evening and was very very disappointed at their performance. I own everything Dewalt. Almost EVERY cordless tool 20v and 18v as well as multiple corded Dewalt tools in my shop. Many many Dewalt hand tools as well. I even own Dewalt shoes, pants, gloves, hats..etc etc. You get the picture, I am loyal to Dewalt and love most of their tools. This one however is pure JUNK. Of the 4 clamps contained in the kit, two of them would not tighten at all. Just about 3 lbs of torque and they slip and disconnect pressure. This almost ruined my project. These are supposedly rated for up to 600 lbs. These are going back today. Sorry Dewalt, you dropped the ball big time on these clamps. That should have tipped me off in the first place. I would give these a ZERO if I could.
These clamps are heavy duty and easy to adjust to size. The release triggers stick sometimes but it really isn't an issue. I had another name brand of bar clamps that tighten with a pumping action on a grip rather than the turning motion these take. Both are good, but I like these a bit less.
My wife and kids purchased these clamps for me for Fathers Day and the very first time I used a 6 inch clamp I found it wouldn't lock down do to the notches not being deep enough. I used a 12 inch today and had the same results. Package said 600 lbs but these wouldn't make 6 ounces. I've been a carpenter for over 30 years and have always been satisfied by the quality of tools that carry the Dewalt name but these are a complete disgrace. They purchased these online from Home Depot and the packaging has been disposed of but hopefully a full return will be honored. I've always purchased Dewalt tools be it a reciprocating saw or drill but this purchase might affect my future purchases.A very disgruntled customer, Billy R. Gibson
OK, I bought 12 of these F-clamps. 4”, 6” and 12”. These are very similar to the Jorgensen clamps. In fact I’m seeing DeWALT farm out a lot of stuff now to competitors to keep their name in the game everywhere. Their skimming blades are made by Level 5. Not fiction, DeWALT said so in an interview. Now in front of me I have both my Jorgensen and DeWALT steel bar clamps. There is no difference other than the color. But essentially the operation of the screw and sliding the mechanism are identical.
This bar clamp set is very nice. The jaw pads are fairly hard but not hard enough to mar a work piece, but they are enough for good grip without being flimsy. The jaws are parallel to each other and stay that way unless you really over do it.The clamps have plenty of strength for holding work and they release very easily. The 2-piece clutch lock provides for strong and sturdy locking. I really like the release mechanism it has a very positive feel. Even caked with sawdust, the jaws move freely in and out on the bar. Making one handed operation simple. These are my new go to "3rd hand" clamps.
