DeWalt Dcd796p2-qw Cordless Combi Yellow

Overall a well made and good quality product but one or two worries.1) The forward/off/reverse switch seems a bit fragile and is not precise when selecting the required position.2) The brake which stops rotation when the trigger is released makes a lot of noise and sounds like the gearbox is trying to self destruct. After much internet research it seems a case of "They all do that sir".The 3 year warranty gives some assurance that if anything does break it will be sorted.

This brushless combi drill kit is the appropriate successor to my earlier kit (that is still working well). I like the size, the overall configuration and the weight of this drill. I find the power of this drill has also been improved, so, in general, I am very happy with trhis new member of my workshop-tools.

Early days yet, things that have disappointed me to date -Absolutely diabolical registration system to gain the 3 year warrantyHaving problems with bits falling out of the chuck due to it opening during use. I've read that this can be a problem due to the brake on the tool being very fierce, but equally it could be down to me needing more familiarityDisappointed to see that it's made in China - but what isn't!

A great drill driver

I bought this to replace a cheaper Makita drill that I had owned and used for several years, that had served me well, which still works okay. But after having used someone else's DeWalt on site, I was so impressed I bought a DeWalt for myself, and I bought this one for my employee, it is so much better than my old Makita in every department, I am not knocking Makita, who I am sure make a drill which is comparable to this DeWalt. This drill is very compact and has good power, the light is a great feature and very useful. Bomb proof drill, Great price too!

Bought one recently from B&Q Tradepoint after looking at them for months .... Fantastic, a really powerful solidly built drill. Feels great in the hand, the gearing is superb, the variable light is really bright even on its lowest setting. It has now replaced my corded hammer drill with no loss of performance or power. Wish I had bought it when I first saw it !

The xr Dewalt combi is a serious workhorse , i have a few of these and they do take a good knock .Found that they are reliable over many years and , touch wood none of mine have ever failed.there is a quality about the machine and plenty of guts to get the job done.Another great plus is its size , balance and weight

Fantastic bit of kit. A little heavier than I anticipated but still much better than dragging a cord around. Have used it for several small jobs already and power is lasting well. Would highly recommend.

The price and service offered by Powertool World is excellent. I chose this drill based on its professional spec but upon receipt I noticed that the drill head had considerable run-out (wobble) at the drill head. Browsing around the web, it seems a common problem on these models and is down to poor quality control at the Chinese factory. It also seems Dewalt cannot easily resolve the problem, so I opted to get a refund and will order another brand. 5 stars for Powertool World customer service and zero for Dewalt!

Dewalt cordless impact drill

Powerful machine with long lasting batteries. Nice addition is the light which helps to see things better. The machine is not too heavy and easy to work with. Worth the money as compared to other machines with similar specs.
