I really like this tool. It is very strong and able to break free rusted bolts. And the size is optimal for the strength of the tool. The only strange part of the tool is the light is at the bottom of the tool and not next to the main body.

I have the DCF900 and used to use that to take off lug nuts. I sold my DCF894 because this is the new upgrade and is almost twice as powerful. This tool did not disappoint!! It took off lugnuts we ease. Well worth the upgrade with out the weight of the 900. I love the detent pin option, Highly recommend this tool!!

This is the second one I’ve bought and probably will be the last. The first one broke within 2 lug nuts. The second one lasted a bit longer but broke trying to take a lug nut off that it had previously tightened, very unimpressive knowing it’s there “most powerful” mid size impact wrench they sell. Both have broken the same way and sound like a bearing or the impact mechanism has completely let go causing it to seize.
I bought the DCF892B in august 2022. So just under two years ago i use it to rotate my tires in the spring and fall. So used very little . I am having trouble with the anvil it is sticking in and just letting the socket fall off every time the impact is used. So i contacted Dewalt the reply i got was to take it to a service center to have the warrenty checked. That would be awesome if the service center wasnt 3 hours from my house. Think it is time to switch brands i hate to with all the 20v batteries and tools i own . But i mean 3 hour drive for service VS milwaukee tools they have a service center maybe 15min from me on the other side of town.
I got this for seasonal wheels and tire changes. It worked as expected. Still this is no test for it's capabilities. There's three settings for torque. I used the lowest, which is 3 for tightening wheels and release the trigger as soon as the nuts gets tight, because even at this setting, it tightens the wheels more than the manufacturer spec. So much easier changing over from winters to summer tires now.
Picked this up about 2 years ago, when it first came out, in anticipation of having to deal with rusty sub-frame bolts. Then waited for more than half a year before deciding on an impact socket set (https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/maximum-1-2-in-drive-professional-grade-impact-sockets-set-18-pc-metric-0582032p.html). But only just recently started using this on lug nuts.First use was about a year ago, dealing with rusty bolts for fuel tank straps. I think for the first bolt, I may have had it on tighten instead of loosen, because the nut on the metal clip broke free of its welds, making that job a whole lot more interesting. To this day, I still find it a bit too easy to accidentally toggle between tighten and loosen on this impact wrench, so I double-check and ... MorePicked this up about 2 years ago, when it first came out, in anticipation of having to deal with rusty sub-frame bolts. I think for the first bolt, I may have had it on tighten instead of loosen, because the nut on the metal clip broke free of its welds, making that job a whole lot more interesting. To this day, I still find it a bit too easy to accidentally toggle between tighten and loosen on this impact wrench, so I double-check and triple-check for every use.Recently attempted to correct the passenger side front axle that had somehow popped-out, and this impact wrench and 29mm axle socket made quick work of the axle nut/ spindle nut. Later torqued back to 144 ft-lbs or so. I'll go back later and replace this axle nut, and probably both front axles, but for now, it is holding fine. Also recently replaced rear brake lines and hoses, which involved removing wheels, replacing wheels, and then removing wheels again. This impact wrench lets me remove a wheel in about a minute, so maybe 5x or 10x faster than using a breaker bar and socket wrench. The lug nuts are already well-marred after 25 years, but if I were working on shiny new lug nuts, I'd probably go back to the breaker bar and socket wrench, just to keep the lug nuts looking new for as long as possible. Even though it takes longer, I've gotten into the habit of always torquing lug nuts back to spec with a torque wrench, every time a wheel goes back on the car. About 30 years ago, after just getting my car safetied at the shop, a wheel fell off the car while on the highway. The wheel bounced into oncoming traffic, but very fortunately, didn't hit anyone.Still haven't replaced the sub-frame, although I have the u-pick replacement on-hand. Figure the sub-frame wants to be a sacrificial anode, so I'll just let it keep rusting away, and keep an eye on it for now. Will replace the front brake lines and hoses when I do the sub-frame, and maybe consider re-doing some of the other lines to make it look nicer underneath. If I wasn't so afraid of rust, I'd probably just stick with the breaker bar and socket wrench. But now that I have this impact wrench, I find that I'm reaching for it more and more.
Tons of power! Super impressed by this impact. Another guy at work has an 899 and using the same battery the 899 can’t run a bolt in that this one can’t pull back out. The precision wrench doesn’t work on mine though it is the same as setting 3 except no trigger speed control. It is all or nothing. Not a big deal to me but if you want that feature it could be an issue.
The anvil on this impact sucks the pin that holds the socket on keeps sticking and letting the socket fall off. I contacted Dewalt they wanted me to drive 3 hours to the closest repair center to have it looked at. Think it would be a lot easier to sell it and buy a milwaukee. I am about done with Dewalt .
bought mine about a year ago for my mobile tire changing business. works great a lot nicer then dragging air hoses around. only complaint is that it can be a bit finicky when its raining outside. other then that I'm completely happy with it and with a full 5amp battery I can change tires for a couple of days before I need a fresh battery.
