Another quality product from DeWalt. Easy to set up and use. Joined my first oak boards yesterday, sooo much easier than dowels.

I bought a Freud biscuit joiner about 20 years ago. Used it on many project from furniture to cabinetry. Still works well but my youngest son needed some shelves. We used the Freud for what will probably be the last time. This new DeWalt is superior in every we. The fence is easy to adjust with great accuracy thanks to the built in scales. The folding guide is very convenient. And best of all is the switch. Just squeeze the barrel. DeWalt simply put just got it right!

This is something I should have bought a LONG time ago! Zero issues, easy to set up and use. I use a vacuum on the exhaust port and have had NO issues with cuttings jammed in the port, with both hard or soft wood.

Works great out of the box, if you arent sure how to use it, you tube search and everything you need is there. I watched several videos before it arrived so I prepared to adjust and set it up. I have dewalt tools that are 20+ years old and continues to perform flawlessly. I spend more because I dont want to be disappointed
Bought this, as it had great reviews. I assume mine was just a defect; the arbour was bent causing very loose biscuits. I measured with a dial indicator directly on the edge of the arbour face (the blade mounting surface), and got about 0.007" difference around the perimeter. This was amplified at the cutting edge.Everything else worked fairly well, although it does seem a bit over priced for what it is. The fence just seems a bit flimsy and cheap, although I measured it to be fairly accurate.
I purchased this tool used over 15 years ago and am still using the same unit with no issues today. When I bought it, I was mainly curious to try biscuit joinery and was most interested in hinges. It did not take long for me to become a convert. I really value the precision alignment of butt jointed boards that biscuits provide. They are much easier to use than traditional dowels and quite flexible. The only downside to this tool is the dust collection port and bag. The port is an utterly proprietary half inch square arrangement. Attached to a plastic adapter, the bag has a metal wire loop that is needed to keep it open for the dust. Without that, the dust quickly clogs the port. Unfortunately, the wire attaches to the adapter through two slots in the plastic which ... MoreI purchased this tool used over 15 years ago and am still using the same unit with no issues today. While this is a pain, I must point out that my used machine last over a dozen years before this became a problem.
This is a great power tool made by DeWalt who has a good reputation. The learning curve is short and there are plenty of videos on the internet to answer any questions you may have.
Mine came with the fence, blade height, and depth totally out of whack. Even the indicators for the degrees and depth were way off and had to be adjusted. Seriously looks like it was assembled by a 3 year old. Took over an hour of adjustment and testing just to get it half decent. Luckily it does have a lot of adjustment, so you can get it dialed in, but overall not impressed with the build quality.
Having used Dewalt before, I was a bit surprised at the lack of quality of the product. The line markings did not line up so had to set these up myself. Also there is a poor finish on the aluminium where it has been machined, would expect better from Dewalt. Still a good product though, next time I will open box in store and if not content will not buy.
This biscuit jointer arrived with the base out of alignment - no big deal, that can easily be adjusted. However, after a couple of test cuts, it became apparent that the base was not ground flat, which together with the slop evident in the bushings, made getting accurate biscuit slots a total lottery. Credit to Screwfix, however, who accepted it back with no quibbles. I've now replaced it with the Mafell LNF20 which is in a totally different class, and IMHO well worth the extra cost.
