I bought this as the blade is advertised as 12mm wide. That is not true, it is barely 9mm. Not a lot of difference you might think, however when they cram both imperial and metric measurements onto the blade it looks very fussy and difficult to read. That said I will use it for other projects just not the ones it was bought for. It has some other good features, 5:1 gearing, window for removing dirt, button to unlock the handle to deploy the tape and a nice rubber grip.

After very light use onsite the metal became brittle and bent in a few places, shorty followed by the end stop coming off altogether and the tape is now stuck inside the housing.

Good quality, good price, handy clip ,but the measurements are too small to read , real shame
Some people might think I was daft paying this much for a tape measure, but as (almost) always it is worth paying out for De Walt. I would have been through several cheaper ones by now. Some real thought has gone into this thing, the tape does not kink or buckle, and the casing is big enough to accommodate the full tape.so no end left sticking out. The handle wind means it doesn't jam like a sprung device, and the little window to get rid of muck is a godsend. Well done De Walt, an excellent building site proof product.
