DeWalt DWHT80276 Carbon Fibre Composite Staple Gun

Barely had this a month, and it has already become one of my favourites ever produced by DeWALT, or any company for that matter. Lightweight, like you're not holding anything in your hand at all kind of lightweight. Strong... go ahead. Drop it. It'll be ready to fire again before your fingers are. So strong, in fact, that there's no kickback, and no need to push on the stapler from above the exit point to get a flush staple. With the lack of weight to it, there's zero hand fatigue, even if you have an injury from something else. This is my go-to stapler for all these needs. Short of getting the air or electric versions, this is perfect. It is always on, always ready. So, do yourself a safety favour, and take the staples or pins out when not in use. Considering the amount of power it has, and considering the light weight of the carbon fibre composite body, a safety latch would likely crack the material, long before you could hurt yourself. It's best to just unload it when you're done. I am not joking when I say there is a lot of power in this stapler. Please be safe!

Absolutely Excellent ... Until Winter

Was very impressed with these staplers in terms of how light and easy they were to use. Ended up buying enough to replace all the aging steel staplers we had at the gun club. Unfortunately, on the morning of the first cold match last weekend (temps in the 30's) we had (2) staplers break on the first pull. That's when I had everyone stop using them. We kept the surviving staplers inside our jackets to warm them up when not in use. That seemed to work and we didn't break anymore. Now, I did have one more problem: Turns out you can't use these carbon staplers like a Stanley steel stapler to lightly pound something in with. I made that mistake, and quickly broke one. In my mind, the staplers are so good in terms of their weight, operation, simplicity, and non-conductive exterior in the heat/cold that it was worth the 'hammer' trade-off. The stapler is really GREAT other than last weekend in the cold. Just left an email with customer service to see if these staplers aren't designed to be used in the winter. That would be really disappointing as our matches run year around. My rating would be 5/5 stars but need to take at least 2 stars away if it's just a summer stapler. That's going to be a big deal. Will try to come back an edit this review if this is a mistake or we just had faulty units from a bad run or something.

Best stapler I've ever used!

I picked up this wonderful stapler as a replacement for my old one. I had that one for over 20 years, but it was always a pain in the but. When it finally died, I jumped at the chance to pick this one up. The trigger action is super light and doesn't wear you out after a long period of use. I immediately put it to use and ran about 300 staples through it in no time. My hand didn't hurt like with my old staple gun. I really love that it can shoot multiple sizes of both staples and brads! I had a couple "misfires" early on as I needed to adjust to the light trigger action, but after a couple of minutes I had it figured out and was rocking.

Contradictory Warranty??

I'm really impressed with this product. I've had 3 or 4 staplers over many years and none was/is as easy to operate, as light to carry and offer the option to use brads and staples. I bought it because of these features and it does not disappoint me. I have arthritis in my right hand and this stapler does not cause me pain to use it. It is very light weight so easy to pick up and manipulate. Additional great features include the reversible belt hook which means I don't have to set it down and then find it before I continue use, the light weight the ease of loading staples and brads and the visibility of remaining staples and brads.I did not read the real fine print on the package and found the hard way it only takes up to 5/8 " brads. The packaging material states on the front upper right corner "Limited Lifetime Warranty Guaranteed Tough". On the back of the packaging the term "Guaranteed Tough" is defined as, "If a product fails to perform due to a defect in material or workmanship we will replace it. Proof of purchase is required. Warranty is not transferable, See dewalt.com for details."I had aother stapler fail a few years ago so I'm curious which version of the warranty can e relied upon. The lifetime warranty as stated on the packaging was influential in my decision to purchase it. That warranty and the DeWalt name convinced me to try this product.

Doesn’t Work

Doesn’t work properly straight out of the box. There isn’t enough tension to push the staples forward or something. When you load it up it’ll shoot one staple but after that it won’t push anymore staples forward. Have tried lubricating and cleaning it and it still doesn’t work. Am using Arrow 1/4” staples which are supposed to fit it. Disappointed because I needed to finish a project and now I have to go get a different staple gun.

Garbage

Bought mine at Ace. First one lasted about 20 staples before handle wound no longer reset. Exchanged it for a new one thinking it was just a fluke. Second one lasted about 5 staples having the same problem. Thinking third time is the charm exchanged one more time. Didn’t even get one staple through it. Like the feel and weight of it but not durable.

Great Stapler

I purchased this to put up insulation in the basement of the house I'd just bought. I'm rural so ended up using it in my backyard, garden, sheds, etc.This is a great stapler! It drives the staples in with force, works consistently, and does not clog or stick.

Light and easy to use

I've had a few staplers, and most end up misfiring or are heavy. This stapler is beautifully light, the stapling action is firm but easy and the long handle makes it easy to use. I love the little red indicator that appears when the staples are getting low. Another great thing is the belt hook. The loading system is easy to use and it holds as many staples as any other makers does. Buy this because its light and better than the others

Super Light and Durable!

This staple gun has always done well for me. I use it at the range all the time. It looks stylish, it is super light, and recently I found out that it is legitimately carbon fiber and super strong! I was at work at the range the other day and I saw that it had fallen off of the 4wheeler in the parking lot. As i turned back around to come get it, I panicked as I saw a Dually truck about to run it over... I gasped as the back tires ran directly over it. I picked it up afterward to find it in perfect working condition, minus some scratching on the gravel side and tire tread marks on the top side. I was incredibly surprised at its durability and immediately wanted to review it everywhere. Great little staple gun!

With as light as this is, it surprised me when I tried it out....

...in the garage on 2x4's that some of the insulation had come loose from, which is why I bought this, as the old all metal Swingline we had had stopped feeding staples when I had tried to use it. Every staple I put in went in, with only a few that weren't completely flush but that was from me not pressing as hard as I should have. Not a one jammed, none bent, and it never failed to function or miss a staple. And it was easy to use one handed. This would be a very good stapler to have hanging on your tool belt and not be weighed down by it, and for a plastic/polymer build, it feels well made and sturdy.
