I used to fish in Texas and would clean my fish at a fish cleaning station located inside the park. This is a very inexpensive fillet knife. I use it to butterfly boneless chicken breasts. I give it a quick sharpening before each use. You can buy better and more expensive knives, but this will get the job done.

Y'all it's sharp. Holds an edge. Every deckhand from Alabama & Pensacola to Maine knows this knife. It's mandatory to have along on the Gulf Coast. You can fillet and skin a snapper in like 1 minute or less with this knife. Only knife easier is an electric blade. This is all we use on our boats. I keep them in the truck, at home and in the hunting camp. And for less than nine dollars, there's no reason you shouldn't have one too!

I definitely would recommend this knife for tough conditions

I needed a good stainless fillet knife for surf fishing. This type of fishing is so tough on all your gear with constant salt and sand spray. The Dexter Russell knife was very sharp and stayed sharp through a week of fishing. The blade coating was effective and I had no rust problems just rinsing the knife in fresh water after each day on the beach. I ordered the sheath to go with it and am very pleased with this knife.

Great knife ! Goes with my other S133-8 thinner blade Dexter fillet, I often need a stiffer fillet blade at home with some fish and this one is just what I wanted. Besides, having 2 sharp knives on hand speeds up everything, and the plastic handles clean easy. I also picked up a matching belt-loop white plastic sheath to carry either one with me on my boat to start things there !! AND "NO BRAINER" DEXTER-RUSSEL QUALITY TOO !!!

Preferred knife for kitchen

Just love this knife. Was longer than I am used too so ordered a shorter one. Very sharp so should be handled with care. Prefer fillet knife because they cut just about everything and they last almost forever.. Last one I had lasted over 20 years. Works on meats, veggies, breads and other items too numerous to mention. Handle carefully, knife is very sharp

VERY NICE KNIFE

I saw this specific knife on an episode of "How It's Made" and decided to buy one. I have had it for a few weeks now and I am very pleased. It's sharp and durable. If I have any criticism at all is I wish it would have come with a sheath of some sort. Other than that, I am quite pleased.
