Classic Diamine quality inks.Perfect size for experimenting with new colours.I bought:Passion Red: Vivid, bright red. As expected.Claret: Light purple, almost pink. Cute, but not an ink I use at work. Shades well.Aqua Blue: Light blue, strong shading. Though I prefer Havasu Turquoise.Oxblood: Brownish red, a lot browner than expected. I use this regularly at work becauses it looks quite formal but I know it's called (ox)BLOOD! Not as "blood like" as I was expecting but then again it's been ages since my last satanic pact and I can't remember what real blood looked like on the page.Soft Mint: lovely turquoise colour, a bit less green than I was expecting but i blame the white balance of my monitor for that.

Diamine inks are vivid, but flow well, and frequently good shading inks in wider nibs. The Grape ink is the color of yes, grape jelly, but that's a rich bluepurple and will show a sheen on good paper in a stub nib, but I like Armanth very much---not pink, not red, not purple---too. Eau de Nil is a subtle, great shading blue-grey.I thought these were an excellent value, and the small vials mean they're a lifetime commitment.I wish Massdrop would contact Diamine for a special production of a sheening ink. Diamine has done this for several local markets like Germany and Indonesia, and the inks are spectacular but not sold in the USA.

Works a treat with fountain pens. Not too viscous, flows very well. And with 5 colours how can you lose? You're bound to like at least one.Now time to buy glass bottles for these...

I'm very much torn on this ink, and how I should best review. On the one hand, I very much love the colour; it's sort of between a burgundy and magenta. That being said, I noticed as I was using it, that there was an awful lot of buildup around the nib. I washed it off, but the buildup kept collecting, and getting worse. It was grainy, and clumpy, and stained my hands all the time. After several months of dealing with this, I stopped using the ink all together.

Fantastic deal! These are super wet, super flow inks that work well in my fountain pens. I have tried them in both converter and barrel fill pens without issur. Love them!

I loved the color options, and I enjoyed the three inks have used. I confess that I hated the bottles. Part of this hatred is likely based in my inexperience with smaller containers; however, (while acknowledging the generous filling to the very top of the bottle) I FOUND IT IMPOSSIBLE TO FILL 2 of 3 DIFFERENT PENS WITHOUT MASSIVE SPILLAGE! I hated the small necks of the bottles, and I will likely use a syringe to fill pens that permits that method. Unfortunately, one color I wanted to use in a vintage Parker that utilizes a press-to-pump-and-fill (multiple presses) and got ink all over my table surface, which was prepared so no damage was done (just ink lost). I expect challenges with ink samples but not with 30 ml bottles. Again, THESE BOTTLES I HATE!

There's just nothing bad you can say about Diamine inks. They're bold, flow smoothly, and look great on the page. They're a good deal normally, but this drop is an absolute steal!If you're new to fountain pens, this is a must-buy. Get your black or blue ink if that's your thing, but definitely try a few oddball colors. That's part of the fun of fountain pens! Browns are great. They stand out on a printed page, they don't scream "kindergartner" on a business document, and they're more distinctive than the typical blues and blacks.

I enjoyed this drop. There were a couple of Diamine inks that I wanted for my collection in the 30ml size and since I was able to pick and choose the colors I wanted, I was able to pick up a bottle of each. Diamine ink is of good quality and they have a fantastic range of colors.

Beautiful ink

I ordered this for my Schaeffer fountain pen to both write and draw with. It's beautiful ink, very smooth flowing and works wonderfully with my pen (other inks have been very clogging). The only thing with the Amazing Amethyst colour is it's very dark - it looks almost black in some drawings, and I was hoping for a more obviously purple ink. Overall I am very happy with the quality of the ink, would recommend it for quality fountain pens, but I'll just to have shop for a brighter colour next time!
