I was skeptical about buying these shorts as I did not think they would live up to the description. However these are by far they best pair of dickie shorts I have ever worn. I ended up purchasing a total of 5 pair. Out of all the different brands of shorts I own I must say these are the best ones. The front pockets are a little shallow but they are still awesome shorts. I particularly like the stretch in the waist and the shorts themselves stretch when you need it (bending down). As stated the shorts help you stay cool due to the design. And the length is perfectly cut just below the knee. I highly recommend these shorts to all. You won't want to wear any other pair of shorts after wearing these.

I have owned an older pair of these cargo shorts for many years, and finally outgrew them...ahem. This newer version fits very comfortably--I like where the waist hits me-right at the waist, and they are a bit lighter-weight than the old ones, which I like. I wish these had the hook closure instead of the button. I also wish that these shorts came in more interesting colors. My old ones were a great medium blue with light blue details--neat! My new ones are your basic Khaki, which is fine, but geez, all the colors available were just basic, I thought. I'd buy others if there were more color choices.

I've been wearing Dickies work shorts for about 30 years. These are definitely a lighter weight material, actually similar to board shorts. Definitely an adjustment after wearing the standard weight Dickies shorts. Comfortable. Seem like they'll be durable and already have proven to be stain resistant (stray happy hour meatball left a few marks that came right out in the wash). They seem to be slightly looser in the waist than the other Dickies work shorts I've had in the same size but not overly so; that's what belts are for. These will be good for warmer weather. I've gotten two pair in the khaki and military green (good color), I'm likely to get more with the summer approaching.

These shorts are extremely disappointing when compared to the discontinued x-series cotton/spandex blend shorts with an active waist. They may as well not have an active waist because this "cooling" fabric has no flex. I also don't find it to actually be cooling or breathable. One size is too small and the next size up is too big. Seems like Dickies is quickly selling out to become a fashion brand, not a work wear brand with any consideration for comfort.
Short is perfect in the waist but the length was off as they dont mention the crotch is higher up buy almost 2 inches making the lenght that much shorter than the relaxed fit. If your a conservative person and about 5' 10" and under your ok. I am 6'3" and the shorts felt really short. If you would like a short that has the same similar fit in the crotch area and a bit more length try looking in the performance workwear at the 13" inseam and that fit way better for me.Customer service was not able to help me for some reason as that would be a no brainer answer to when I called to get a reply. The new shorts I got were a 5 Star and this short is definately a 5 star if you are under 5'10". My rating is based on one point for the lack of info about the crotch ... My rating is based on one point for the lack of info about the crotch difference between the relaxed fit and the regular fit. The second star deduction is for the staff not really knowing the difference or reccomending the 13" short that I received. they should read the actual reviews since they can be the best source of info.Love the shorts and look forward to seeing them get a few more with some other material that have some style and not just the solids. I have been in the business for 30 years and would like to see some added options on colors and styles. Golf etc
The picture, even in this email, shows your shorts fittiing above the knees. The shorts you shipped hang well below my knees. Also I wear a 35" waist, but no one really makes those, so I either order 34" or 36". Usually a little too big is better than, a little too tight. Your website needs to say boldly, that sizes run much larger. Unless somebody there shipped me 38"-40" shorts with a 36" label on them, your sizes are huge!!! I'm swimming in these things. Very dissatisfied over all, I feel like it was a waste of $150, and now I have to re-purchase a better fitting product. Somewhere else, more than likely.P.S. The tech pocket is way too low, and oversized. I have to bend slightly as the waist to reach the pocket. Also being that low on the shorts, the phone is ... Love Dickies but always been annoyed they refuse to provide a shorter inseam option. For shorter guys (ie 5'-7") an 11" inseam is extremely long. While these are advertised as 11", for some reason they fit me much better than the 'traditional' 11" Dickies, both in style and length. These TempIQ shorts are much cooler for summer months and have a bit of stretch which is always welcome. Unfortunately after wearing these only a handful of times the cheap stitching just let go in the crotch seam, resulting in a little hole. Right now it can only be seen when I'm sitting down, but obviously will only get worse until fixed. I knew this new material/style would not be as tough/durable as the traditional (stiff) Dickies short material, but they need to improve the quality ... I knew this new material/style would not be as tough/durable as the traditional (stiff) Dickies short material, but they need to improve the quality of the stitching, no point making great shorts with poor stitching. Crotch needs to be reinforced or all these shorts are going to fail. These are my new favourite Dickies shorts, but this stitching problem needs to be addressed ASAP!
I tried a pair of these shorts, alongside their regular fit counterparts, and opted for the regular fit. I found that the upper-half of both pair fit me exactly the same. The difference that I noticed is that these"slim fit" legs appear to be tapered, rather than slim overall.I didn't lay these shorts flat and take measurements before returning them, so perhaps I'm wrong. These both looked and felt like a tapered fit, though. Given the roomy, high-rise fit in the hips, I prefer the straight-leg of the regular fit to these slim ones.
I've been driving 3 hours to purchase Dickies that fit me the right way. I am 6 ft 3 280 lbs. Most stores carry Dickies but they are the tight fitting ones and that just won't work for me. So I thought I would have to make a trip 3 hours away to purchase the right ones I need. Then a light bulb came on and I thought let me go to their website. Once I did I saw all different kinds of shorts, shirts Etc. So I placed my order and I believe they arrived within a week to a week and a half. Most importantly they were the perfect fit. I've worked for the same company for 25 years and the only thing I've worn all those years were Dickies. They are very durable and last a lifetime.
These have been my go to work shorts for over 9 years. Outdoor labor and indoor warehouse. Theyre durable and yet still breathable, comfortable, and dont hold moisture like heavier cotton. Love the gusseted cargo pockets, allows you to carry more.Only complaint is the rear and main hip pockets use a lighter material than the rest that tends to develop a hole easier, even just from my phone over time. Not a complaint but a nice feature would be to have the Cargo pocket flaps be able to fold into the pocket like on Duluth Firehose pants/shorts. Just dont put elastic in these like "Duluth flex", just for comfort. It compromises durability on what would otherwise be a very good product and is the main reason Duluth only ever got 1 pair of shorts from me. At $50, they ...
