After extensively researching so many heaters, I came across this in a top 8 list of oil heaters even though it's oil-free, they mentioned how good it was.. I can confirm that I live in a studio open plan living unit with very high ceilings & it heats up that spa e with very little effort.. Absolutely love it & highly recommend it to anyone in a similar situation or just for a large living room even.. I don't pay much electricity as have solar panels but this is highly rated for its efficiency too. I just cannot comment on that part myself yet.

This heater hearts up to max temp quickly, and the effects are felt within about 5 minutes at max power. Once this heater hearts the living room in our flat, we drop the power down and can wear tshirts instead of jumpers! I'm very impressed with the power and speed.The functions are a bit cryptic as there are no temperature markings but the wattage is clearly described in the manual. I used an oil radiator before this one and might stick with Dimplex now and the non-oil models. The electric models seem safer to me as I have young children and when this unit turns off it cools very rapidly. The flip side to that is that it won't store the heat or continue warning after it's turned off.

Needed heat in my little bungalow for craft/sewing. Its a small room 5mx2.5m. But this heater warms it up in no time! Very efficient and quiet. I find its only needed briefly and the room is snug and I turn it off. Very happy with it so far. (About a month).

It's not quite the performing heater I had hoped for. Distribution of heat from columns is average. Fan function not well positioned on device to distribute the generated heat effectively. Make sure you turn down the thermostat and allow heater to cool before switching off at power point. The surge of extra energy from the heater almost fried my powerpoint.
We have been really impressed with the heater and using it in the babys room while the temp has been getting so cold on a night . We bought a heater mate timer thermostat as well so you can set the radiator to come on for different temperatures and times automatically. They work great together .
I bought 2 of these, I was going to buy the smaller version for the bedroom and the larger for the lounge but their stock numbers were off and they gave me a deal on 2 large ones to make up for it.The fan could be a little quieter and maybe an auto fan setting would be good as it is off or on independent of the heating, and it would be really good if the heater had a little more thermal mass more like an oil radiator but it does do the job. It is a little slow in the admittedly over sized room I put one heater in, in the bedroom the other heater is quite fine. The flat plates on the bottom that hold the wheels on can warp a little, but are easy enough to straighten. A little confusion as there are a couple of models available on-line. I was expecting the model with the thermostat / fan .....and timer. Anyway must have clicked wrong model so two out of three OK. The fan is located at the bottom of the heater and works well to keep your feet warm. The controls were easily operated by my elderly mother. Heats a larger room gently over a number of hours but also quite effective if you like to sit close and watch TV.
I used to have another cheaper brand of column heater for years & it served me well but then finally broke. I did my research & this one was recommended on many sites. I am not happy at all with it as it does not heat enough no where close to my old column heater. Save your money with this one!

I was a little skeptical about the oil-less aspect, however, I prefer not having the chance for an oil leak (although I've never heard of that happening without force being applied to the unit). Without the oil, the appliance is quieter and faster heating. I haven't had the opportunity to test it through the colder months yet, but so far it pumps out more heat, more quickly than the old one.I would love suppliers to make one with a digital timer (not those clunky clicky dials that always get noisier and noisier until they die completely). However, the turbo fan on this unit is excellent: quiet and effective. It really pumps the heat, at least in a medium-sized bedroom. Two slight improvements would be: 1. The wheels. These always seem to be the component that gets the least attention. I know substantial smooth ball rolling wheels would add to the cost but they would make these units so much easier to move. The wheels on this unit are enough but could be better. 2. The indicator light. There's only one and it's permanently on when plugged in and powered on. I get that it is a safety feature but I think a tiny LED dot would be enough, not a large red bar. I would also like another small dot light to indicate that it is heating. The safety aspect of the original light is almost lost because it is always on. So you can't necessarily tell that the unit is actually heating unless you can feel the heat, or you get close enough to inspect the dial settings. Not a deal-breaker either but a potential improvement.Overall, very happy that I have a unit that HEATS (as so many of these don't), that is quiet and that is easy to move and operate.
When I got them home I was worried that I'd made a mistake when I discovered they where not oil based. However after doing some research online I discovered that they where more energy efficient than oil based. When operating they make a huge difference even when I have just one going in quite a large room. Surprisingly effective.
