Dior Poison Girl Unexpected Eau De Toilette Spray 50 ml

Smells so delicious. A bit of a colder scent than I would prefer. I usually tend to go for a warm spicy cozy gourmand smell and this is not that. It's much lighter and juicier. It does have some gourmand elements to it but more citrus than I would like. Not too sweet. A flirty girly scent but more grown up and sophisticated than a juicy couture for instance. But not womanly. More powdery than expected but this scent actually made me like powder which I had previously avoided for it's matronly qualities. But this puts a delicious youthful spin on powder. She’s a citrus heavy little thing upon first spray. She smells like bathroom cleaner or floor cleaner for the first 5-10 minutes of wear. Push through that and you get a beautiful orange blossom sweetness. The vanilla sweetness takes over the orange blossom within 30 minutes and lasts throughout. It’s an EDT so obviously it’s not going to last too long. Longevity is 4-5 hours. Sillage is arms length settling into a skin scent near the end of the wear. Performs best on my skin in blazing hot temps and higher humidity. She’s comforting and an easy reach. Inoffensive. Pretty. Sweet. Citrus. Safe for work. Crowd pleasing. IG-AshleyScentMe

I was hesitant to buy this scent due to the cost, however this 50 ml bottle gas lasted be a solid two years. I am 30 and I feel this scent is sophisticated enough to wear at this age. Don't let the girl fool you in the name. I wear this almost daily. Only need 2 squirts. I can't get enough and will be purchasing again. I get compliments every time I wear it and it's my husband's favorite as well.

I'm honestly a perfumaniac and this is one of my favorites. First, I am well aware that everyone's nose and body chemistry is different, but I think some of the reviews on this fragrance are really misleading.This is an EDT, and I do have to say, it lasts for a very, very decent amount of time. I applied a couple sprays to my wrists about two hours ago and I can totally smell it on me when I move my hand. I feel like this lasts a good 6-8 hours, and after the 8 hour mark you will probably be able to still smell it, just won't be overpoweringly strong. It's citrusy, but nobody would be like "woah, she smells like oranges" because the other notes in the fragrance are really prominent. This is also one of those perfumes that smells better as it sits on you...the reason I bought it was because I couldn't believe how perfect it smelled on me after a half hour or so. Basically, there is a SLIGHT hint of rose that keeps it from being too young (I would not describe this as a floral perfume by any means), and then the tonka bean hits you. It's really creamy, like a marshmallow smell. That's my favorite part about this particular perfume. After being on my wrist for an hour or so, it smells like a rich vanilla cake topped with chocolate frosting and orange peel. It's really soft and slightly powdery, which makes it smell REALLY sexy and not girlish. It's gentle and sweet, but also smells kind of rich because of the creamy tonka bean. I feel like those who are attracted to well done candy-like perfumes like JC Gold/La Sucre, or sweet citrus scents like Hidden Fantasy will take a liking to Poison Girl. If you like vanilla, creamy/powdery fragrances, or floral fruity gourmands, you will totally love this.

Reacts differently for some

I guess this is a good example of how a perfume can perform differently for everyone. After reading reviews, i got the impression this was going to be a sweet scent with some vanilla. I love gourmand scents. I love sweet scents. However every so many reviews i saw someone complain about it smelling like powder or a grandma…….. well unfortunately for me, my skin picked up that powder note and ran with it. After the initial spray where i can pick up something that smells like oranges, it settles into a baby/grandma powder mode. I asked my husband’s opinion just to see if it was just my nose. He said “oh no.” No sweet, candy-like vanilla scent for me. I suppose i have been very lucky with blind buys in the past, Black Opium, Good Girl, Good Girl Supreme……. Stunning

Hypnotic Poison is my all time favourite, I have always wanted to give the others a go but thought that this one + the EDP would have suited me better as a young teen. Mostly because of the playful way in which it has been described but I've finally learnt to make my own conclusions as I'm quite fussy with scents. I much prefer the EDT. Such a fresh, versatile, enticing fragrance. Had to sample it in store though as they didn't have it available at the airport and there were better deals available online. In-store testing isn't as pleasant as I remember or maybe it was this store. Anyway, needed a 'forever' summer fragrance just as I have a winter one and this covers all seasons for me, but definitely a great spring/summer scent!

The Best

Was wanting to revisit the Poison line as I love and trust the House of Dior, heard a lot of positive things about ‘Poison Girl’, so I bought it through Myers’s on line; yet another trusted Brand; and all I can say is I’m over the moon. It truly is a most mesmerising scent, love at first sniff! Juicy Orange Blossom and citrus opening with an enveloping Damask Rose at its heart, drying down to a warm Vanillic and Tonka Bean, Almondy, Cashmere base that envelopes you like a Cashmere sweater. It’s pretty, uplifting and fun to wear, not too strong, just beautiful. Perfect!
